It's impossible to walk away while her music video plays. She is so compelling and mesmerizing. Lyrics, voice, beauty, incredible production and songwriting talent. "Wow" doesn't begin to sum up Paloma Faith.

I fell in love with this song thanks to the leak version and thought that no one but Sia could do this song justice. I was wrong. I have never heard of Paloma Faith but I am impressed. She embraced every note that made this song a favorite whiles putting her own spin on it. Now I want to see what other songs she has thats good.

On a recent podcast, Paloma told some of the backstory behind this song. Paloma met Sia several years ago, when Sia and her co-writer Samuel Dixon came to see Paloma performing in a bar before she had a recording contract. They ended up going out after the show, and Paloma and Sia stayed in intermittent contact over the years, with occasional email exchanges. Paloma also worked with Samuel Dixon a bit, writing "My Legs Are Weak" from her first album and "Freedom" from her second album with him. While Paloma was writing songs for The Architect, Dixon called her and said that he and Sia had a song they thought Paloma would be interested in. At the time, Paloma had been trying to write a song about the refugee crisis, but wasn't satisfied with her efforts. When she heard Sia's song, it clicked with what she was trying to do, so she asked Sia and Dixon if they would mind if she told people it was about refugees. They didn't, so Paloma recorded the song. Sia had called the song "Black and Blue" but Paloma already had a song with that title, so she changed the title to "Warrior."
