As a 77 year old man, familiar with all types types of music from Wagner, G & S, Kath Ferrier, Benny Goodman, Elvis et al., do you know what really pisses me off with these groups? I will tell you, it is the fucking drummers using the match grip, that easy to use grip that is but a travesty of the true drummers grip, Jesus, I even saw it used by the drummer in 'The Buddy Holly Story!] as Buddy Rich once said, [he who could perform a drum roll one-handed, 'match-grip is alright for tympanny [if any of you know what that is], but in order to play drums properly, and here I stress properly, the traditional grip is the only one that can succeed, [Chick Webb, Gene Krupa, Cozy Cole Buddy Rich, Davie Tough, Ed Shaunessy] the list is endless, musical exploration is the key to musical understanding.

T-birds? Kim Wilson and that's it!!! There is not one other Thunderbird!

Did a couple of shows supporting the Thunderbirds when they toured Australia in the '80s, Jimmy was still lead guitarist at the time. I think it would have been not long before he moved on, during those shows he (as always) played great but his mood seemed distant and somewhat withdrawn. It was a pleasure doing the gigs with them, I always loved the band.

At the first I thought this was The Cadillac Kings 'Betty Lue'. But no,it was not. Pretty good anyway! Thanks.

So much fun. I've seen the Thunderbirds many times from the very earliest on when Jimmie Vaughn, Fran Christina and Keith Ferguson backed Kim Wilson, including this iteration with Kid Ramos, Willie Campbell and Gene Taylor at Bimbo's 365 Club in San Francisco....always a good time

Can't watch Kim Wilson with the heart of the James Harman Band + Gene Taylor here and not wish for the T-Birds, the magnificent James Harman Band, and the many GT New England bands to be still intact. No one can deny that this is great, but it can not compare to the originals. Love you all, but you know what I mean. With great humility, a fan.

I dig seeing Gene rocking his Harman shirt here; Kid, Willie and Hodges from Harman's band. So much great music through the years!
