ur born in the 70s in so Cal and hear ur parents hippy shit while growing up with punk rock, disco, with reggae in the background, and shitty new wave on the radio, and somewhere in between u smoke and partake in all has to offer and it helps u weed out the bullcrap and u come up with something like this

they aren't from so cal. They are from Santa Cruz (central). which would explain they're different sound. I just classify this as reggae-rock. That's just me.
