I think the cake are a representation of relationship, here all the relationships are unhealthy

For Junghwa : she gives everything she has to her boyfriend who betrays her by poisoning the cake, maybe he cheated on her or something like that

For Hyelin : She has a relationship where she can get everything she wants but end up being tired of it and wants to leave the man but he stops her and violently forces her to stat with him until she finally escapes

For Hani : She seduces a lot and has lot of sexual partners. Her relationships are only sexual which is why the cakes are protected. When she wants more, the cakes only breaks and she realizes that she will always be lonely if she doesn’t change.
