Everly Brothers, The - Always, It's You Lyrics

When I feel downhearted
When I'm feeling blue
When I'm low and lonely
Who do I turn to?
It's you
Always it's you

When I'm dreaming daydreams
Who comes into view?
Who shares all my daydreams?
Who makes them come true?
It's you
Always it's you

When I feel like smiling
You're the reason why
If I ever lost you
I'd cry and cry

Oh hold me close, my true love
Kiss me tenderly
There is only one love
One alone for me
It's you
Always it's you
Always it's you

  2. S.... G....

A lonely time in my life....an empty SUMMER IN1960

  3. S.... G....

I think the Warner years was "UNDERRATED"

  4. g.... ....

Had forgotten about this song love it.

  5. A.... S....

Such a beautiful Song by Don & Phil ..lovely harmony ...R.I.P. Phil

  6. J.... E....

Flip side of Cathay clown but thus is my favourite

  7. m.... p....

the kings of harmony without a doubt and the benchmark for all to follow.

    I am sure they will
    wait until Don is
    deceased before a
    USA POSTAGE STAMP is issued
    on the immortal
    pair, and only then
    after the requisite
    five year moratorium. But I
say: Put out the stamp NOW! Before we are ALL
    dead and gone!

    M.... M....

I pray that Don will be around for many more years. I have followed the boys since 1958 and have attended one of their concerts.

    M.... M....

they should have issued a USA POSTAGE STAMP for them when Phil was alive as in my opinion they are the best at delivering harmony ever.

    A magical performance of
    paralyzing beauty.
    "There has never
been a purer sound, before or
    since", Felice and
    Boudleaux Bryant."

    Agree 💕

    The separation
between the pitch of their voices was phenomenal in this recording,
perhaps moreso than any of their others, especially beginning at 1:18. I sit in kind
of a daze after listening to this song numerous times in succession, trying
    to process what I
    have just heard.
    A performance for
the ages. If they had made only this one recording,
    the world at large
    would still always
know who the Everly Brothers were.

    M.... M....

Milton Moore , I believe the separation at 1:18 is the bridge of the song. It is truly exquisite!

OH MY, what a lovely song!!

    R.... B....

    I just returned to
    see if you had
    listened yet, and
while reading through the comments again,
only listened to the song another 7 or 8 times! The
    separation between the pitch
    of their voices was phenomenal
    in this recording, perhaps moreso
    than any of their
others. (I just placed part of this
    comment into a
    new comment to
    be found above.)

    R.... B....

It IS such a lovely song!! I haven't had the opportunity to finish your leads, I had two 7 yr olds entertaining me! You really have some awesome leads today! I do get side tracked, looking at the other listings in the sidebar!

    Years ago when
    I used to record
    cassette tapes of
    my favorite songs
    for friends and
    clients, whenever
I recorded an Everly Brothers set, I always concluded it
    with this gem
    written by Felice
    & Boudleaux Bryant. In their
    own words: "There's never been
a purer sound, before or since."

  13. R.... G....

    I love you, & I miss you everyday Pop, , , , RIP Daddy

  14. M.... ....

    Lovely <3

    M.... ....

    Leticia Roman.

Always loved their romantic songs best, but this is the definite "Everly" sound.  They were so good together and thank heaven we have a long list of wonderful music of theirs.   Enjoy!!

  18. J.... L....

Always it's them, can't get enough of those soft songs.

    J.... L....

    My sister took on
    the name LaPointe,
    from our father's
    side of the family.
    Great French name! Great song,
    also!

  19. l.... ....

    Song is dope af.

  20. E.... D....

A lovely melody of two great men !!

  21. R.... T....

Just love this - yeh it’s corny now but still puts a knot in the stomach when I hear it – God rest poor Phil he was such a lovely guy and tremendous talent

    R.... T....

    This is not corny.
    That hillbillyish
"Hee-Haw" TV show and all that country bumpkin
cornpone music and humor is what
corny is. This song is the very antithesis of corny! You should
look up the definition of corny
    in the dictionary.
    No offence intended. Just the
    truth. Peace.😊

    R.... T....

    amen, bro!

  22. T.... T....

Once and only encounter in human history. Truly blissing
