I lived in DC then, and it was a very dark place. People that thought there was light had no idea what was coming. I left in December 1999, Eva Cassidy had a phenomenal voice and everybody in town knew of her... But it was just such a dark place, she would have been in a much different career much earlier, the 1970's.. She came at a time and place in history when life for a U.S citizen was disingenuous, 911 solidified it, but even before that, it was just spiritually in a very sad place...

Good god this woman could sing just stirs the soul you can actually picture this train coming!!!

What a great cover of Curtis Mayfield, not easy I mean it's like trying to cover Joe Cocker great distinct voices and to do a song like this justice is very impressive.

I first heard her on a now gone fm smooth jazz station, I went and bout like 10 cds, then looked online to see if she was playin live somewhere...only to discover she was gone....bam....that really hurt and still amazes me...we have to appreciae what we have yet, as humans, we wnder what could have been...I am so blessed to know her music, I am always sharing with folks
