I didn't think anyone could do this song like Paul Simon. But Eva, you did it justice.

She NEVER sang a cover song...once she sang it, it became hers even if the writer sang it.

My only regret in life will be that I never had the chance to see Eva sing live. She sings me to sleep most nights, truly missed ❤️

IMO it is a very rare thing when a cover surpasses the original. While I love S&G and this song in particular, Eva's heart is clearly open here. Her ability to bring out the feeling of this song is heavenly. Her talent on the guitar is just over the top. May her soul be at rest.

I have often wondered what the lovely Eva would have thought if she knew she had millions of fans while she was still alive I hope she would feel rightly proud as she should I speak for millions who say thank you for leaving us your music it is still an honour to love u as a fan RIP beautiful Eva.

I still can't get over how incredible she was. It's as if every time you play it, you discover something new. Completely awesome.

Hey God, how about a do-over --- you can take a singer who didn't appreciate the gift you gave her and wasted her talent (Whitney Houston), and give us back a singer who was taken too soon to appreciate the impact she had on the world with the talent you bestow on her. Whitney did the best that she could, most everyone does, even if they make serious mistakes, including wrong relationships, drugs, etc.. The pair, perhaps, were the two greatest female singers since recorded history, Though I prefer Eva, Whitney was so fantastic! I doubt she felt she was wasting her talent. Who is to judge their weaknesses? Everyone is on their individual journey. They are both gone now and we get to celebrate their legacy. That is absolutely more than enough...

First off --- NO! ". . . most everyone . . . "' does NOT make serious mistakes that lead to their eventual death! If that were be the case, the world would eventually run out of people. MOST people DO NOT do drugs! But let me put it in layman's terms so you can comprehend!

Hypothetically, let's say you have a wife and a beautiful daughter! And unfortunately, that lovely daughter is struck down by cancer --- and because of that loss, your wife gets involved in drugs. And even with all your intervention, her life is expunged because of that choice.
Using your initial hypothesis, can you truly say your 'hypothetical daughter and wife' individually and/or collectively . . . did the best they could!?
C'mon man!
No one in the world ever sat down at a table and said, "You know what, I want to get cancer."

But yes, my dear lost Tom, MANY people . . . NOT MOST, but many . . . do sit down at a table and happily say, "I am going to try this (cocaine, meth, acid, heroine, crack, LSD, et al.)!" Additionally, Tom, we --- the living --- are the ones to judge, because we are the ones remaining who have to clean up the mess when death stoops and stops at the door of the recently departed because of their own misconduct! Because we are the one who have to continually struggle with them not being in our lives anymore.

A tough price to pay for living, don't cha think, but I don't call that celebrating, sir!

Let me throw a few names at ya real quick --- Streisand, Simone, Carey, Fitzgerald, Joplin, Holiday, Dion, Carpenter, Lennox and James. And if you want, you can take two of them off of the list, because they had a part in taking their own lives! But then who are we to judge . . . we are only the living . . . 'doing the best [we] could!' Please, dawg . . . each 1 teach 1!

I cannot understand an angel comes to Earth singing like this and is allowed to ever die. Next to Paul's version, this is the best and most heart inspiring version ever made! I am humbled!
