This is the one song I listen to and miss my daughter, she died from Plasma Cell Leukemia in 2017. No one should ever have to bury their child, oh God I miss her so much.

Forever fan of you Eva. I was born on 1980's but your music captured my heart.. Soulful and full of life and emotions. No one can sing like you in this new generation. Forever loved. Im from Phils. But your songs are my most favorites. And i knew you very well through your songs..

I love the line...."the Lord's been like my shadow"...an allusion to the Biblical shepherd.. but alluding to the Black sheep....including a race of people who through suffering gave us an incredible line into beauty. Do you know if she was on the VOICE after the first two lines she would have FOUR CHAIRS TURN and the season could end there because nobody could hold a candle to her. DO YOU AGREE?

Here's an idea how about the producers of the VOICE play a recording of OVER THE RAINBOW on the anniversary of her passing at the beginning of the show and just watch how fast the chairs turn and a WINNER IS DECLARED!!!!

Quite a few years ago I was sleeping with the TV on and the Eva Cassidy Story featured on ABC came on really late. Her singing woke me up from sound sleep and I watched the rest of the program. I had never heard of her before and was so saddened to learn she had passed away at an early age from cancer. I wrote down her name so I wouldn't forget it by morning. After I got a PC and learned about YouTube, I searched for her songs and found very few at that time. Later I bought her CDs which I would play in the car and at home. Some voices and songs etch themselves in a person's memory forever. Thankfully there are a lot more of her songs now on YT so people can hear her gift to us. Gone too soon.

Just once I wish I could forget that Eva Cassidy had such a tragic life while listening to her music. It would be hard not to be moved by her music even if she had lived. I think of all the great songs she could have left her mark on, and it frustrates me. I guess we have to just be happy that we had her for a while.

I know it’s hard but try to appreciate what you have in the HERE AND NOW!

How can you say that Eva's life was tragic...she left a legacy that the vast majority of us can only dream of...

It is just a shame that their are such people in the world as the ten you talk about. This lady should never have any thumbs down no matter what song she sings Im an atheist but I could never give a thumbs down for this song. ITS SO BEAUTIFUL

To make it even more beautiful and sadder. is her husband the piano player or is she asking the piano player to help her recall her husband who passed away too early. she dreams of him in paradise. that doesn't even count that she never grew old and loves God. Difficult to listen to the song without someone cutting onions nearby....

What a true-to-herself and to her music woman Eva was. She didn't sell out to any record label, rather she kept her own ideas, feelings, style and her soul in all of her music.
