Recently, I have found arguments as to where music comes from and who does it better to be so moot. Can any other version of this be any more soulful? I think not. As soulful? Perhaps. --- Every piece of music we've ever heard is inspired by all that came before until what you hear is a product of a current living soul embracing and augmenting as the heart dictates. Most of what we hear falls short of greatness, serving only to later reveal the truth we know when we actually hear it. The truth in talent. The truth in compassion framed in the perfection in composition. And one need not make the music to appreciate the truth, for the truth is known to all of us. Just, occasionally, we get to hear it from the gifted few who perfectly express it.

I JUST discovered her. Came up in Spotify after listening to another artist. BEST THING EVER. I love it when I discover someone I hadn't ever before who just automatically speaks to my heart like this. She is awesome. I like everything that comes out of her mouth and her renditions. I was so amazed I had to google her because I thought "how do I not know such an amazing voice?" Then I read that she died. So sad and sorry to read that she passed on from Cancer. I agree with a previous commenter that I miss her without having known her or knowing about her when she was alive.

I used to love Eva Cassidy when I was a teenager but somehow I forgot about her music for the last decade and just rediscovered her today and I just cant believe how beautiful her voice is, it's like I'm hearing it for the first time again. I think she's my favorite singer ever, her voice is unbelievable.

I think Eva actually strikes people harder who have matured, have lived a while, been through stuff. You probably are different after a decade and her incredibly soulful, mature, nuanced voice hits you in the heart. Just a guess.
