Eric Clapton - Spoonful Lyrics
Could fill spoons full of diamonds,
Could fill spoons full of gold.
Just a little spoon of your precious love
Will satisfy my soul.
Men lies about it.
Some of them cries about it.
Some of them dies about it.
Everything's a-fightin' about the spoonful.
That spoon, that spoon, that spoonful.
That spoon, that spoon, that spoonful.
That spoon, that spoon, that spoonful.
That spoon, that spoon, that spoonful.
Could fill spoons full of coffee,
Just a little spoon of your precious love;
Is that enough for me?
[Chorus]
Could fill spoons full of water,
Save them from the desert sands.
But a little spoon of your forty-five
Saved you from another man.
[Chorus]

Eric Clapton Spoonful Comments
These masters could do this in their sleep better than most awake ....
Nothing for show. All in the name of music.
Why is ´t Eric pouting and shaking his head all the time?
Sorry but it just sounds so crap on a strat.
Clapton should have switched back to a Gibson on this.
I was 11 and I would listen to my sister's 45s when she was gone. I always played the B sides, because I'd never heard the songs on the radio. These guy's B sides were the best in the history of music. I didn't even know who they were. Here I am, 52 years later, still getting blown away by the mastery of these legends. Glad they did it one more time.
Cool funky version of Spoonful...excellent!
You could see that Jack Bruce was not well at all physically and Ginger not too far behind...
at 2019 two of they are gone... but what a wonderful group of older citizens, I just want to be like them at my sixties
Musique as an héritage for all of us ,all of young musicians who start play now in this digital age .
These 3 guys showned us the way, they were amazing of creativity , what an example for young generations
I saw Eric 2times this year and ..if I were able to travel back in the 60', first thing I d do , will be to go seing cream show
From the liner notes to Bluesbreakers:
"Since joining the group, his technique has improved beyond recognition, and on his best nights, Eric can make time stand still. "
That quote has always stuck in my head....since I first heard him in the 60s!

And what is so great about this harmonically monotonous cacophony that people find so alluring? No doubt R&R has done a lot of mental/cultural damage to our society.
It's about revisiting the music of our teens and twenties and the reunion is celebrating surviving it
@lapaz deguerra I appreciate what you are saying and believe me, I'm a kid of the 60s and 70s and a former admirer of those R&R bands but as a player that further evolved, I can honestly say that from a musicianship standpoint, the palette used by those rockers is vastly inferior to what's available to other forms of popular music, including jazz which is my preferred style.
Them lads are fantastistic...
R.I.P. Ginger Baker, you are now up there with Jack, god bless.
Jack hated him, FYI...like A LOT of folks, his were very cranky, even when younger....ashame...
RIP Ginger
Rip ginger baker
X AHORA 76 ZOQUETES
RIP Ginger Baker died October 6th 2019, age 80. Thanks for all the great memories and music.
All three at the top of their game...wow.
Anyone knows if there is a Dvd or blue-ray of the concert?
Yes, purchased one a few years after this show
Thanks for posting.It IS great.
There was a Stratosphere to these men. A higher Air they lived, breathed and Flew in. Either individually or together. A Higher Performance.
The worlds best drummer by like x10 is THE MR GINGER BAKER!!
I love CREAM
Dioses del Olimpo.
4:10 Clapton
How could anyone give this a thumbs down ???
Because it's not as good as 1968.
Not everything is for everyone. I'm sure the Ups far outweigh the Downs. As to the other commenter that it's not 1968 worthy I would compare them as beautiful shrubs to glorious weathered trees. Each has their place
Just My Humble Opinion, But I Think This Song Would Have Sounded A Bit Better With Vintage Marshall Amps And Heavy Distortion , And Guitar Tuned Down To E Flat . Just Saying. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Meglio degli Experience!!!!
Love this concert, never tire of watching it Cream forever !
I have one question who is the greatest guitarist? There is no right or wrong answer
God is here
nechcete tu môj komentár? milujem CREAM, nikdy hudbe nič lepšie nevzniklo..a to mám rád aj klasiku..geniálna hudba..nadšasová...A ERIC je fenomén..úžasný hudobník..
And what a voice Jack had too!
Ginger Beacker!
They look good for geezers twice their age.
Ginger has great groove and swing. Locked in to fuck the big lunatic
ERIC FEELING IT
I wish Eric Would Play Spoonfull more often
these 3 taught us all how to jam
Jack sounded way better on that EB-1 than the Warwick.
it's with them (and Jimi) how Blues became all over sudden a psychedelic experience, rather than just a down-to-earth style of playing
+Manfred Kayser Don't forget Jorma Kaukonen.
That bass tone is orgasmic
1 of my favorite blues songs. The Cream just take it to a completely different place :)
And The Best Blues Rock Band in the History of Music is Cream Yeh Yeh Yeh Yeh
And the Best Drummer in the wold Ginger Smokin Baker
And the Greatest Lead Guitar player in In Eric Clapton
Absolutely the Best Bass player in the World is the Great Jack Bruce
Who'd Bruce flip off at 0:09?
damn this is good. nothing of today compares. three piece band just kicking it out.
For your listening pleasure, music perfection.
No drugs, but still getting high, now that's what I call progress. Oh if it would it be possible to start from here and transcend further? Not likely given millenials' narcissistic self indulgent nihilism and apathy. Sad to imagine great art seemingly still necessitates self debasement by the young, and yet modern music goes further still in foregoing the former and producing only the later.
Ginger Baker is still my all-time favorite drummer!
Unbelievable how exceptional he was
Most drummers played the drums. Ginger Baker WAS THE DRUMS HE PLAYED!
Yep. As a drummer I find it amazing that they start so slow compared to the original, and Ginger doesn't push the tempo one bit. Incredible.
This is damn sad. Too old. 30MPH 1st gear rock.
Your time is coming. It will ALL be clear to you ⏳
pqp! Cream é fodastico.
Jack has said in the interviews, they tried using their old gear, but didn't like it. They didn't want the reunion to be a parody but rather them in 2005 using what they used now. My parents, who are big Clapton fans, often dismissed Cream due to their "noisy" sound quality. The 2005 RAH gigs completely changed their view on the band, because (according to my parents, not me) they could hear the balance between the 3 individuals.
Personally I am with the rest of you. They could have easily modified all their old equipment from back in the day to give them more control over the sound and make it stage friendly.
All great
No doubt the history was made here. three consummate musicians hit every fucking note after 50 years. Take that rappers who will die before we can write your obits
no one can sound like they do they are awesome
a spoonfol to taste this cream
Never so good in our lifetime
Gimme Jack and Bruce... exceptional
Eric had it dialed
ONE OF MY ALL TIME CREAM FAV'S . TO LISTEN OR JAM TO.WITHOUT THE SPOONFUL.
This is one tune Fender fails, need some humbuckers and Marshall. But Jack Bruce is the greatest!
WOW ! Simply The Best !!! I was lucky to see Cream in 1968 at Madison Square Garden, my first concert ! Again in 2005 also at MSG . The one & only, CREAM !!!
GREAT!! Really enjoying this
Legends
R.I.P. jack Bruce
(May 14 1943 - October 25 2014)
Everyone complains about Clapton's guitar, but you do realize he does not have stacks of Marshall amps either, just 2 Fenders, it sounds fine to me. You play music & it sounds like he is enjoying his playing here.
JUST ONE REASON I LOVE, CREAN
Jack gets my vote as best rock vocalist ever!
JB bassman
go back to 60s France Tour IN THE BEGINNING OF SPOONFULL THEN IN THIS ALB HALL O5 THIRTY YEARS LATER INCREDIBLE AND JACK STILL ALIVE THEN

Blues Man E minor blues
A lot of rock this song is also smoothed out with the rythum and the melody of blues ! Absolutely a Mint performance by all of you 🎸
A lot of rock smoothed out with the rythum and melody of blues ! Mint performance by all of you !
Welcome to the Band Jack
Oh yeah!
Such a perfect musical moment...
What a great cover legit bluesmans
God is Clapton and Company playing as one. AWESOME
This is good, but their farewell gig in 1968 maybe the best concert i ever witnesseed
I have to agree. And I have the same feelin' about the 1968' concert. But how symbolical that for us the best concert 'ever' happened exactly in the most deciding year ''ever' ...what a (not) cincidance!
Oh god no. It's horrible. They are phoning it in during that last concert.
Clapton should have used an ES-335 or an SG to get that Cream sound. nothing against the Stratocaster, but it sounds rather weak for what the Gibsons can do in this genre
eight inches - Because Clapton was the executive producer of the tour and beholding to Fender.
space munky LOL
Rob Valdez oh STFU lol
@haytham kenway yes it does! Still, Cream was about that fat, Gibson humbucker sound.
Oh please !!!!
Jack gets my vote as best rock Bassist ever!!!
Bruce, McCartney, Entwistle, Jones, Cassidy, Lesh...many greats, but Jack's package sets him a tad above Paul....
Nicely put. Damn fine bass player and singer!!
@Mike North They were both great, but their styles were so different it's like comparing apples to oranges. Bruce was more bluesy, Entwistle was more jazzy.
No one knows about rock music can really argue that. One could debate it, but no one could argue it.
@Chris Herbolsheimer - Not anymore.
The wolf would be proud
and so also Mr Bassman Dixon
Tumblemydice he's been proud since 1960s.
OMG- - - - The Cream Reunite & (& @ Least in my opinion) pull off a great concert- - - - & the audience looks like cardboard cut-outs.........I should not complain- - - - I passed on this tour- - - -because I thought it was going to be embarrassing.
can't get enough of cream and Joe Walsh
I wrote a big post a moment ago and it didn't show up. Anyway, My very first car was a 1970 Mustang, and the previous owner left an 8 track tape of the cream in it. I have been a fan every since. I am 60 now and still love the cream's music.
+Rhonda Glover It's not The Cream, it's just Cream.
It used to be The Cream back in the days. They changed it years later to just "Cream"
+Bruno lee sorry to take the wind out of your sails, but before they were globally known as cream, they were and always will be "THE CREAM", as in the butter fat that rises to the top of unpasteurized and/or unhomogenized milk. the best, the finest kind. but, unless you were born 1965, you probably wouldn't know about getting milk delivered to your door and having to shake it to mix the cream back into solution. to this day I still shake my milk before drinking. but, excuse moi just thought you might like to know and Google a London club CRAWDADDIES not sure on the the spelling but certain the name. later, 👸sldc💝ERICCLAPTON😎.💑 THE MORNING AND EVENING AND THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MOON AND YOUR OWN MIND THAT YOU CAN DREAM IT DONE BY CHRISTMAS ALL THE UNSOLICITED CITED BY THE LIGHT FLOODED ON LYRICS TO THE RIGHT DID THAT YOU CAN DREAM 💭 IT DONE BY CHRISTMAS 🎄 🎁 CHRISTMAS 🎁 🎄.HIGH TIME WE WENT OR SOOO GLAD XXXXXXXXXX HERFOREVERMANHASHISGOREVERWOMAN BFOREVERMANFOUNDHISFOREVERWOMANS THE SAME THING AS A SIGN OF RESPECT IN MY ELEMENT OF OLD WASHED OFF THE UNIVERSE SOOO PLEAZE ALLOW ME TO DO CHORES WITH MY LIFE OF ME KNOWS LAYLA COMFORTS AND YOUR OWN HOME AND GARDEN OF MY FAVOURITE GENRE OF MUSIC AND LYRICS TO THE RIGHT NOW AND YOUR OWN HOME AND GARDEN OF THE ABOVE STARS THAT YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS ABOUT THIS IS MEYE DISCLAIMER THIS IS FIT FOR ME TO DO WITH DREAM. . Clapton is the best!
Clapton's tone here on the Stratocaster versus his "fool" days is weak to me. It seems like he has to try a lot harder to get the guitar to talk. I can appreciate that he switched to the Strat after Hendrix passed, but it was (in my opinion) at the cost of his entire Cream tone.
Yes, it did cost his Cream tone. I read a giant, giant biography of Cream, in which they said Clapton got sick of the media saying he was a Hendrix copy, and regreted to be a "guitar hero" which is why he changed his style and sound so much... He actually wanted to be less famous, according to what I've read. It also explains very well why he has focused so much on singing rather then just playing the guitar after CREAM. Rolling Stone magazine is to blame quite a lot for that.
Leonardo Silveira where can I find that biography?
Cameron Dennis
Perhaps Clapton should have dropped a Hot Rail in the bridge 😉
yeah right sounds crap
The strat sounds amazing. And he can make it freaking sing....
I much prefer live versions. Shows how good the band is. Here is an amazing return to the sixties.
The bass here is amazing. Good old Jack. RIP.
And who in the world would ever think Ginger would still be alive?
+Xardox17 you said a mouthful there about ginger LOL ,,
How about Keith Richards and Iggy Pop? Eric himself was somehow blessed as well. One never knows.
TREACHEROUSLY FUCKING PERFECT!!!
i wish..... i wish i was there.......
Jim Dragon Me too.
I have 5 years when that concert happened.
I would liked know that music at that age.
i can't feel their chemistry
+Bandulf McLennon do you feel, like, in general?
you fuckin' twats
one year ago 2014 October 25 Jack Bruce dies ( aged 71 )
Rest in Peace Jack
+Günter Harz That's why this is so very precious. <3
almost 3
5:10 seems to be the start of a f*cking great jam...but no. :(
Oh my.. Ginger Baker <3 Saw him at Ronnie Scott's a few years ago, so brilliant.
They are all .. just.. amazing
Hmm, interesting. He himself says his roots are in jazz.
Wow, Jack was on fire here!
Agreed the standard by which all others are measured
