As far as i remember this is a song written by JJ cale...Nice but a JJ song  and a cover in this  case .of a JJCALE song .

Hugh : : yes you are right but what makes me wonder is why Kanal von Maexle puts the name Eric Clapton and forgot to mention this is a cover of JJ,s In my opinion Clapton may be thankfull for all the songs JJ wrote because thanks to JJ he clearly made a comercial come back once with After midnight. and Cocaine .Now after the death of JJ Clapton again Clapton enjoys attention over the music of JJ.Cale ....JJ was the original and not an attention seeking comercial as Clapton is. I am not at all a Clapton fan.... Clapton is way too noisy and mainstream compared to JJ and somehow boring as i feel it but JJ,s music was with me since his first Album came out in the beginning of the 70 ties and never left me.Years later Dire Straights came out with a very similar way of playin things to what JJ did and again this sort of copy style never touched me as JJ did touch .JJ is and was the real thing,I am still very surprised how many people do not know who JJ was but all know Claptons mainstream blue eyed square flat blues ...I

Henry Bergman: Says "Clapton enjoys attention over the music of JJ.Cale" Yes he might a bit, But a lot more for ALL those people that never heard of JJ and for the love of the music of JJ Cale EC was his friend at the end. JJ's widow gave EC unreleased recordings of JJ. They call me the breeze is a fine album. whatever.

To left JJ out of the credits is even more striking as he is actually playing and singing with EC here.

Actually, you need to consider the fact that Clapton's covering of Cale's song, did a lot to introduce Cale's music to a wider audience. Moreover, I think that someone like Clapton covering your song(s) is to be regarded as a great honour.

Six Blade Knife is a great song and it is similar to this. Mark Knopfler has said that JJ Cale was an influence to him, and JJ Cale has said that instead of taking his songs like most do (Clapton), Knopfler instead took his sound. JJ Cale is a living legend.
