SteamKing2160 take off depeche mode cuz Andy sings better than Dave, besides Erasure without Andy as singer, will be only a synth sound, and I doubt had the same success without him

One of the finest album openers of all time. Shame the album couldn't quite live up to it.

I'd have to disagree.  I love almost everything on "I Say I Say I Say."  I say it's Erasure's best, but that's just my opinion.

You have no idea of what you speak, as I SAY, I SAY, I SAY, was known as Erasure's finest album, PERIOD.  Your "opinion" is just that, an OPINION, and matters not since the vast majority of people know how fantastic the album is.

Lets keep our minds opened. It is very difficult to be objective with what Erasure's album is the best. I adore I Say, but in my case The Erasure cd is the best ever cause Fingers and thumbs for me it was the best conceptual album ever and it touched me in a special way. But what about The circus, The Two ring circus with the orchestral arrangement and remixes, Wonderland, Nightbird was exquisite. Lets not argue with which one is the best cause at the end art will always be subjective . The important thing is that Erasure means so much for so many people in so many different ways, most important, is what Erasure means to us and for me they want us to be together, to give a Little respect always. We are a community no matter where we are or who we are.

Oh no Johan! Listen again, I say ranks among their finest work. :) There's a real depth musically and lyrically that isn't to be found on some of their other stuff that feels like 'throwaway/disposable pop' in comparison. This, Nightbird and 'Erasure' are the introspective albums, which IMO represents Erasure at their best.

It's easy to dismiss Erasure as an 80s electro band, but this song is stunning. Anyone who listens to it (if they allow themselves - I mean it's Erasure, so UNCOOL!) can relate to its message. The river flows, you can only look back, you can't go back, as much as you'd like to.
