So some bloke is seriously wounded in his apartment by I guess a thief, presumably because of that he gets hallucinations of a mysterious woman (and her henchmen) and finally ends up in asylum where he is finished by the said woman (and her henchmen).
What did he do to deserve it?

Since he doesn't know he's dead, he goes about his "life" as normal, cause he still has things to do, places to go and everything a person worries about in their daily life. In the video, Simone and the guys represent death and the cycle that repeats itself once a person dies. The lyrics of the song make reference to being free and having no regrets, but that will only happen when you let go of the burdens you carry that are not yours or are simply out of your reach to solve. In the video they represent that with the ghost of the dude clinging to life, and since he can't/won't let himself go, he loses his mind in the asylum, essentialy becoming a lost soul
