I like the chorus vocals, and that is surprising because I usually hate female clean vocals in metal bands. (nightwish, evanescence, etc).

I don't like it. Does not suit them. Appreciate the effort tho.

because cultist fans of the band who listen to Fear Factory religiously, are butt hurt, because the feel it ruins there sacred bands song. not even joking, most of these fanatics will have shrines dedicated to the band along with multiple copies of the same CD but in a different format.

I like the instrumental and the clean part but the growling ruins it all for me. Without actual screaming it sounds way out of place and with a lot less passion

It always sucks hearing remakes when you absolutely love the original, even when you do want to check out the remake. You have to try to distance yourself from the original and attempt to listen to it without making comparisons. Sadly I have found that to be impossible. I'll say this isn't terrible.

Fear Factory are my favorite metal band of all time and, while I am not a fan, I think Epica are a pretty cool band for what they do. Unfortunately I don't think FF's industrial style suited them as much as they hoped to. Even though Simmone is a great singer she sounds off here. The brutal vocals are horribole.

Still, I am happy they gave it a shot and I don't think the cover deserves the hate it gets. Chill out people, it's music, not war.

The harsh vocals are very At The Gates sounding which is fine.

And they're going to perform at Epic Metal Fest (organised by Epica) on 22nd november 2015 in Holland to play Demanufacture completely. Maybe Simone will help him with the clean vocals in Replica.. he sometimes needs a little bit of help. And that from a big FF fan. Love Genexus.

A female vocalist really changes the context of the song... In the FF version, he is singing about becoming the rapist that caused his conception (replicating his father). With a female vocalist, she is singing about being a rape victim (replicating her mother). This creeps me the fuck out to listen to.

This song was created in 1995, that's 17 years ago, there's no way epica could ever come out with such a power track like this one.
I enjoy this version very much, but the comparison you just made isnt much different from the ones that claim that Bieber is better than Queen.
