I've always loved Enya from the first time I heard her. I still love her performance of this song, but I believe the version by Anne Buckley at the Feet of Flames concert in the UK was the standard by which all others should be judged. Live. No studio. No mixing.

I think this is the best production of the song but I think , Elīna Garanča has a better voice :)

Peter Grant she has a more cultivated, trained voice, but for this song I prefer a sweeter, more “innocent” voice.

I've been searching forever for the song... I originally heard it in (believe it or not) an old Laurel & Hardy movie from the 30's called "The Bohemian Girl."   I've loved this song since I was a very little girl in the 50's.......

Yes, I also remember it from the L & H movie. Watch that scene carefully as you will see that Oliver Hardy loved it so much he was genuinely moved to near tears.
