Enya - Marble Halls Lyrics
I dreamt I dwelt in marble halls
With vassals and serfs at my side,
And of all who assembled within those walls
That I was the hope and the pride.
I had riches all too great to count
But I also dreamt which pleased me most
That you loved me still the same,
That you loved me
You loved me still the same,
That you loved me
You loved me still the same.
I dreamt that suitors sought my hand,
That knights upon bended knee
They pledged their faith to me.
And I dreamt that one of that noble host
Came forth my hand to claim.
But I also dreamt which charmed me most
That you loved me still the same
That you loved me
You loved me still the same,
That you loved me

Just finished watching The Age of Innocence with Daniel Day-Lewis and Michelle Pfeiffer and this song was featured in what I consider to be one of the most beautiful scenes of the movie.

인생의 아름다운 사랑을 떠올리게하는~ 걸어온 삶을 되돌아보게 하는~
명곡입니다~!
I got hooked on this song when Andy Griffith played it in the movie 'Angel In My Pocket', at the burlesque house when searching for a new organ for the church.
Like si El Gordo y El Flaco
this song by Enya breaks my heart- I lost my dear wife 3 years ago, this haunting melody reminds me of her.I am now 75yo, and have nothing to live for -only loneliness,Sorry for spoiling the mood Alan

What is the name of the song Enya is singing? It is so beautiful!!
... you still loved me the same...
Marble Halls, from her album, Shepherd Moons
Nota 10
I've always loved Enya from the first time I heard her. I still love her performance of this song, but I believe the version by Anne Buckley at the Feet of Flames concert in the UK was the standard by which all others should be judged. Live. No studio. No mixing.
Something holy in her voice.
A beautiful song 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
For my friend James puser 🇮🇪🇬🇧🏴🙏🇺🇸
My favorite Enya song.....
Heard this in The Age of Innocence. OMG what an incredible song..........and movie.
Também vi...muito lindo.
Me encantaaaaaaaaa
sends chills over my entire body and being to this very day....thank you, Enya.
I think this is the best production of the song but I think , Elīna Garanča has a better voice :)
Peter Grant she has a more cultivated, trained voice, but for this song I prefer a sweeter, more “innocent” voice.
@Lin Hiril AGREED. The operatic versions do not evoke the same emotion or peace
It came from an opera called the bohemian girl it's an aria the voice of an angel
Beautiful
I dreamt I dwelt in marble halls
With vassals and serfs at my side,
And of all who assembled within those walls
That I was the hope and the pride.
I had riches all too great to count
And a high ancestral name.
But I also dreamt which pleased me most
That you loved me still the same,
That you loved me
You loved me still the same,
That you loved me
You loved me still the same.
I dreamt that suitors sought my hand,
That knights upon bended knee
And with vows no maidens heart could withstand,
They pledged their faith to me.
And I dreamt that one of that noble host
Came forth my hand to claim.
But I also dreamt which charmed me most
That you loved me still the same
That you loved me
You loved me still the same,
That you loved me
You loved me still the same
Terrific work, thank you so much.
I ❤️. This song
Wow! A beautiful unpredictable haunting melody … And the lyrics - so heartfelt and poetic … This is what inspiration sounds like!
A very old operetta 1834 this the gypsy girl's dreem is Devine she sings it well though the original is more dame Joan sutherland
Belíssima!
i was watching the olympics and, right now, the japanese girl (satoko miyahara), has the highest score in the "ladies' free" style ice skating, and she was beautiful. she was beautiful to watch and the only thing that would have pleased me more, if she were skating to this song.
I love this song!
Used beautifully in Scorsese’s Age of Innocence
Sweet perfection - the hummed melody is exquisite.
as if this song were played at the heaven gate...
I hope it is so that my husband could hear it.
Ho sentito la versione strumentale in un vecchio film con una Joan Collins giovanissima: "L'altalena di velluto rosso". In tempi relativamente più recenti, ho ritrovato la,versione di Enya ne "L'età dell'innocenza" con Michelle
Pfeiffer.
I've been searching forever for the song... I originally heard it in (believe it or not) an old Laurel & Hardy movie from the 30's called "The Bohemian Girl." I've loved this song since I was a very little girl in the 50's.......
Yes, I also remember it from the L & H movie. Watch that scene carefully as you will see that Oliver Hardy loved it so much he was genuinely moved to near tears.
Thank you Mary. * The greatest woman ever, told me 'once'. Some people are like a bucket with a hole in it. No matter how much love you pour into them, they are never satisfied
A very special and stunningly beautiful piece of music
