Can someone PLZ explain why he says "if i wouldve chosen another.. it wouldve meant i loved ----- HIM ----- more than you" ---- instead of "HER." ... i know he aint gay?????!?!?!?!?!
Oh, I had just read someones interpretation of the lyrics and it made enough sense that I ran with it. Can you link me to Toby talking about the song more?
Toby went on Matt Carter's "Break It Down" Podcast and explained how "You Were Never Alone" is a concept album based on Biblical stories. They purposefully didn't explain it at first so people could enjoy the album in a pure way. Toby explained all the songs and meaning in a few eps of Break It Down.

Yeah, it's about Adam struggling with taking the fruit from Eve and choosing her over God. "If I would have chosen another (Fruit), It would have meant I loved Him (God) more than you (Eve).
I love the line: "How could I say no to the hand that was built for me"
He's Christian, so I'm assuming he's referring to God.

@James Wightman Emery is my all time favorite band, I've been following them forever. I have nothing against their music, but this is a music *video* that just looks poorly produced.
@James T would you literally rather look at a black screen? regardless of whether or not these videos win any awards for amazing production, doing an entire video album on a 0 dollar budget isn't something to scoff at.
