It is actually a tough song to sing!! Elvis is such a great vocalist, and he sings everything so great, and as far as "strain", I actually like it when there is a little crack in the voice and roughness, sort of like my other faves, Kurt Cobain, Paul McCartney, Mr. Lennon etc.on certain songs!!! I recorded it earlier in the summer, and just re-did it with the "fountain" line (once), and the recording engineer said that it still seemed out of my key and not much better, well, I hope that you can hear it when I post the video and let me know what YOU think of it??

Elvis' voice was truly amazing at this recording! Ok, so maybe he wasn't into the lyrical location's but hey- he was really believable due to his bullet-proof vocals. He really was beyond reproach vocally untilltje mid to late 70's. 

He is still beyond reproach vocally , has never been and never will be it is a gift from God and I bet he will not give another one out any time to soon. who ever your thinking of has come and gone and if you look Elvis is still the one!!

Anything Elvis sang was so beautifully done.  God certainly blessed him with an awesome voice and looks to go with it.

He looked a lot like Don. Don't ya think? I am looking forward to seeing and meeting them both when they are brought back to life here on the Earth. They will both get a fair shake at life as it was intended to be. Likely we will get to here some new great music.

Originally, I wasn't too big on this song, but after several listens u can find the groove to enjoy it. It just proves how diverse Elvis' music is. Anyway, the part where Elvis' goes "Make believe that you are with me, La la, la la la.." gets stuck in my head. I don't mind it at all. Long live EAP.

This epitomizes the passion and intensity of Elvis!  He hits a high A and his voice soars...and all in perfect pitch.  We all have opinions of what we like or don't like, and this is our right...but, objectively, from a strictly musical evaluation, this is a fine piece of music.
