Elton John - Club At The End Of The Street Lyrics
When the shades are drawn
And the light of the moon is banned
And the stars up above
Walk the heavens hand in hand
There's a shady place
Where young lovers go
And this hot little trio plays
That's where we meet
That's where we meet
Me and you rendezvous
In the club at the end of the street
Oooh where we meet
Oooh where we meet
Me and you rendezvous
From the alleyways
Where the catwalks gently sway
You hear the sound of Otis
And the voice of Marvin Gaye
In this smoky room
There's a jukebox plays all night
And we can dance real close
Beneath the pulse of a neon light
There's a downtown smell of cooking
From the flame on an open grill
There's a sax and a big bass pumping
Lord have mercy
You can't sit still
You can't sit still

love the hench bouncer geezer with the crook nose lol
An underrated gem fro Sir Elt
Maravilloso en todo lo que hace , por eso es el más grande del reino unido de todos los tiempos !!!!!!!!!!
It’s a shame that even EJ himself kind of disavows the 80s and 90s period of his career (the recent movie almost completely ignores it)... I just heard this tonight at the grocery store and I was instantly hooked. Great track.
This is one of my absolute favourite songs of Elton's, I didn't know going by these comments that this was an underrated song!
I remembered this video differently but I was like 5 or 6 when I saw it. It seemed more trippy to me at the time
De pronto flash
La chica del bikini azul
Why does she yank him at 2:25? LOL
This song really like I have the album but with bonus tracks which I like it’s on my iPod touch I play this song with headphones

9/10/19. Had to hear this... after listening to "Sacrifice" which made me......BAWL!!!!
Me fascinante esta cancion
I used to watch people rock em too this song, yeah.
Does anyone know why this song in the album that it comes from are blocked in Spotify?
I remember this video and song when it first came out on MTV, it was always one of my favorite upbeat Elton John songs. I’m guessing that’s Junior walker on the saxophone.
Made Elton John look like where’s Waldo in this video
Is that really Elton John In the video
I didn't know Elton John had an animated music video.
It almost sounds like Sir Elton's saying THE CLUB ON DEANNA STREET.
I haven't heard this one in so long, and never saw this video before.....one of Elton's finest tunes, might be his most underrated but I always LOVED it ~ 💜💜💜
OMG! i'd forgotten this song has this amazing animation.
2:09 I love Elton, but that is quite a frightening photo of the bloke
Brilliant in all ways... I LOVE this song, and no, I can't stand still!
The short haired woman is a lousy dancer
love the crooked nose bouncer geezer lol
I just loved this release back in the day, and the video was the perfect compliment to the song; that form of animation is an exact fit. It's one of those songs that's pretty much impossible to not feel happy from, and certainly gives ya an itch to dance. Looked forward to it on MTV, and as much as I love a ton of Elton's music, this was a hugely under-rated favorite of mine, they couldn't play it enough. It's perfect for wedding receptions' dance floor music. It's so dang fun, happy and joyous.
Takes me back to very special memories of youth ❤️
This is the best song/music video i have ever seen in my whole entire life!!!!!!💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
So Beautiful..
Elton I always liked even this song
Qué hermosa canción. Tiene mucho sentimiento.
Por qué en mi país llamado Ecuador están prohibidos es vídeos
Excelente canción uno de mis favoritos del gran Sir Elton.
excellent song, one of my favorites of the great Sir Elton. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wish I was there right now. Who doesn't love a "hot little trio!?"
June 2019
Elton john in this video looks like barnacle boy from the origin story episode of mermaid man and barnacle boy from spongebob
Elton looks good in cartoon form.
Um gênio musical
I loved this 30 years ago and still do in 2019.
Made in England
I was already a huge fan of EJ when he released this. EJ as a cartoon made me love him even more.
Simply love it ❤
👏👏👏😍
I have loved this song since it was released. One of the few songs I can have on repeat and never ever get sick of it
Be honest. Who never wished he or she were one of the back singers on this animation.
🤗🤗🤗🤗
LADY GAGA???
Cant believe that I am still alive in the same era that a total legend still exists.
Random song I forgot I loved. Hadn't heard it since it was running all the time on the radio. Literally almost 30 frickin years ago. Then there I am stuffing pancakes in my mouth at IHOP and this comes on. Lifes funny.
simply wonderful !! Elton John at his best !!
It looks kind of magic - Queen
Great song from the late 80's when music was at its best.
I haven't heard this song in years! I love it :D
Had to pull this video up after listening to a farewell tribute to the King Of Pop. Puts me in a partying mood; will have to go dancing in a few minutes.
My lovely wife and I were first married when this song came out, and sometimes we'd watch the video together and dance around the living room, just like the animated couples in "the club." This was indeed an underrated song, but not to the two of us, as we play it every anniversary. This year will mark 30 years, and I still adore my beautiful dancing partner...ah, such memories!
Adorable.
Le cantaria las canciones elton jhon.billy joel.quen y otras a una chica llamada adriana una venezolana que llego a chile de mi liceo de la cultura estoy enamorado de ella y me gusta mucho
The art style of this cartoon is somewhere between a New Yorker cartoon and Tintin and honestly it really works.
aspen cluuub
I just got the album but with the bonus tracks Dancing In The End Zone Love Is Cannibal I love bonus tracks
This song came out at about the same time as my lovely lady and I were wed, and I remember coming home from work and having a glass of wine with her while we relaxed and watched videos on MTV or VH1. Of all the fine vids that year, this one stands out for its sweetness of lyrics and the story of a young couple -- just like us! -- going to their favorite little club; it certainly resonated with we two newlyweds, as we must've watched it every day for God only knows how many times. Now it's 30 years later, that same lady and I are still happily married and MTV & VH1 are (for all intents and purposes) gone, but this wonderful song and video are still out there, still just as entertaining and still just as sweet as it was all those years ago. Happy thirtieth to the Club at the End of the Street!
"The video was released in April 1990"?That information is correct?
Yes!!! Of course
Roger Scott played this on Radio 1 before he died. What a sobering thought he did not get to see the video or the single release1
The old days Saturday's nights up at Reflex club Watford rrrrŕrrrr what great nights we had
Why is this song not on any compilation album? It's a really great track!
@Roger Rabbit it's interesting that it did better in America at least it for top 40 in America
I meant it made into the top 40 in America
@Roger Rabbit numbers don't represent the quality of a song. The general public are clueless of what's a good song.
underneonloneliness2 Nevertheless, it’s hardly a hit song
underneonloneliness2 “She’s So Cold” is one of my favourite Rolling Stones songs, but your best songs aren’t always your biggest hits
What do Millennials KNOW about REAL dancing music like this?!! "CAN'T sit....still!!"
SLEEPING WITH THE PAST is a five-star album. For me, it's his second best of the 80s after TOO LOW FOR ZERO, and my third favourite overall, behind CAPTAIN FANTASTIC AND THE BROWN DIRT COWBOY and TLFZ.
SWTP is so good with so many stellar tunes - Healing Hands, Blue Avenue, Durban Deep, the title track - I routinely have trouble picking a fave. But I think Club might have the edge in the end.
Cool video. The first time I watched it start to finish.
So, does this song come before or after this one? Because I'm pretty sure they're covering the same night:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NGkbjIxk68
The sax rocks!
this is the song that use to play at rendezvous my dad's ballroom dance company studio when i was a baby in December 1990
Probably his most underrated single! This should have been much bigger than it was, and should be ranked up there with the rest of his classics.
This and simple life
Rocket Groot yes! also one of my favorites
The reason why this video is animated: Elton John was spending his time with Ryan White, who was dying from AIDS (contracting it from a bad blood transfusion as a hemophiliac); White died the same month this single was released (April 1990) and thus Elton couldn't film a video. The animation company also did Madonna's Dear Jessie music video.
he looks like smithers.
Heard this today @ Gabe's Glen Burnie, MD LOL!
Masacre en el Puticlub
Que buen tema ❤
i am on SSDI i wish i could see him in person he is coming to Omaha, NE i can't afford the tickets
1/2/19. This 1980s teenager is watching this for nostalgic reasons.
Cocoa Femme Nostalgia maybe, or maybe we all love good music.
señor elton john es un temasssoooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What happened to the days when fantastic music like this was popular? My God, now it's all trite, simplistic, self-absorbed garbage.
I wish he was playing this in his farewell tour
