Electric Light Orchestra - Laredo Tornado Lyrics
Summer days, where did you go?
You've let me down so bad
Clouds fill the sky
Gone is the dream
My happy hunting ground
But it looks like summer days ain't coming back
March, April, May, June and July
You took me for a fail
Big chief, he lie
Cold wind blows cruel, so cold to make you die
Mountain breeze, ocean bay and I never saw a rainy day
But it looks like them summer days ain't coming back
Laredo Tornado
What can you do when your dreamworld is gone
And your friends and lovers too?
No, no, no, no, no, no
West Winter Street under the ground
The air that makes you choke
Towers of concrete, hellish go-round
Were there when I awoke
City sky pouring down with rain
That can never hope to ease the pain
And it looks like summer days ain't coming back
Laredo Tornado

Best Album ever. Such a masterpiece! Long live Jeff Lynne's ELO!
My favorite song on this album
Incredible. I can hear a bit of Led Zep too
this song destroys me. amazing
ELO- Rocks hard- always did- always will.
"What can you do when your dreamworld is gone And your friends and lovers too?"
As a young kid in England I loved it . Very underrated in my country till Evil woman exploded on the scene in Feb 76
Music doesn,t getter any better than this...fantastic Jeff
night of the thumpasorus peoples
I as in my teens in the 80s I was listening to elo when others listened to 80s music my favourite band during these years now 80s stuff better than the crap now
Truly liked this. ☺️
When I listened to the verses, I thought Jeff was singing:
I shed my pain, June and July,
You took me for a fool.
They cheat, they lie,
Cold wind blow crew out,
But according to the lyrics it was:
March April May, June and July,
You took me for a fall.
Big chief he lie,
Cold wind blows cool,
I love Jeff's singing, but enunciation was never his strong suit.
Simply fantastic, Eldorado probably best ever ELO album

if not for me mentioning it,few woulda noticed the Native American influence,I am sure!
I decide those are the rules...got any argument?...didn't think so!
is ok that Jeff uses Native American symbolism...he's from the other side of the "pond"
OLE ELO

its that sweet guitar that opens the song, thats the meat i love
This and Boy Blue are 2 of my favorite ELO songs. Awesome!
Being from México, his pronunciation of "adiós" is a little incorrect. I didn't know what the chorus said until I read the lyrics... nevertheless, I love ELO, especially this album.
Jeff should go on Daryl's House. I'd love to hear them do this together.
Like this track. Those days ELO had success in United States. No matter Eldorado was an invitation.
mesmerizing vocals !
One of my ELO favorites.
Fort Worth, TX.
Takes me back to my high school days! ELO was hot in the 70's.
ELO's music at its best is like a tornado. So many things going on, you just get swept up in it.
Ori0n1975 I'd say a storm. Every lightning bolt is one of ELOs hits.
Love it..brings back so many great memories from my past
...jak całe Eldorado ....znakomitości wielkiej utwór 😊😀
sweeety hot
its awesome music!👌👍💟
Fatima Mezza Alarcon you have excellent taste in music.
Fatima Mezza Alarcon I agree and I'm only 13.
Lil' Drawings and Animations You're exactly the same age I was when I fell in love with their music. Listening to "Time" through a pair of headphones is as good as it gets. 🎧
Mr Blue Sky so true
6 people dislike this song, I'd like to meet them and give them a lesson in music.
i dont want to meet anyone who doesnt like this song...
I would love to slap them lol
No... six people are tone-deaf. Not really interested in meeting them
I love this song, but why do I keep wanting to call it "Laredo Tomato"?
Do you like tomato soup?
+Robert Darling Sure do--especially with a grilled cheese sandwich.
Jeannie E. Hess There you have it. 😂
My apologies to Mr. Jeffrey Lynne, that was a voice texting mistake. Mr Lynne was The Genius I was referring to in my comments complimenting his music and the profound way it affected my life.
Idle thought but meaningful to me. I was a teenager in the 60s, I partied and danced in the 70s and the 80s. How empty my life would have been without the influence of the Moody Blues, Pink Floyd,. and especially ELO. It's like speculating what the world have been like without a handful of men, Beethoven Bach Mozart Debussy Tchaikovsky. This is real poetry, this is real philosophy helping us to relate to the world. ELO Influenced the world. (and in his lifetime Beethoven did not, no radio-no records or CD, just a few wealthy nobles in the concert hall). Lynch influenced the entire world and in his lifetime. Timeless expression of how our brains relate to our perception of life and the world we live in. (And of course a very cool original beat!) Big chief he lie, cold wind blow cru-el!
tuffduty Lynne, not Lynch.
you don't break up tracks on this Great Concept Album, they are supposed to flow together seamlessly. Or would you Break up the Donna Summers MacArthur Park suite?
Thanks a million MACGYVERKICKYOURASS for excellent downloads of ELO. Great sound...my record is worn out and I lost the CD...this is a great listen this afternoon.
John LaStrada Even now as an early teenager, I still find this music gold compared to the charts in 1990-2017
I've always been an ELO fan, ever since my dad got me into it in 2005. Time and Eldorado are truly the best albums out there.! I hope I get the new album "Alone In The Universe" for Christmas. Happy holidays everyone
The alternate pronunciation of adios amigos notwithstanding, this song is intelligent and evocative. A powerful vocal performance.
Hey, Don Bagley, maybe it's not really Spanish. "But they didn't know the words,
So I assumed that they was foreign"
the outro is most dope!
Seito Stockman Same here
It's too short though!
One of the most soulful songs they've ever made, and most intricate. I'm surprised this didn't get more radio airplay, but you never can bet on AOR radio
1 of my favourite songs from the Great ELO. Beautiful, deep, intriguing, creative and passionate song about the Soul of life.
My crying song! Beautiful
gracias
To "Lynne Genius"...I have to agree! Love Laredo Tornado and Eldorado, btw.
+Danny Stanhope Effing Brilliant! What a melody!!!
GREAT MUSIC.
Epic....
Mozart, Schubert, Verdi, Chopin, Jeff Lynne......................
HES BACK
Wild buffalo played, and I never saw a rainy day...
but it looks like summer days ain't comin' baaack....
Epic classic album and one of my favorites on the album. I saw them in the mid 70's and they were spot on precise!!
Finally saw Jeff last summer, after 40 plus years being a fan. Worth the wait, though i envy your seeing a 70s concert. Can't go back, but at least we have the music :)
My lastname is Laredo. My proud.
Classic honed and professional through the years, underrated by the musicologists, time will tell....
Time HAS told. Jeff is the man :)
Two of my favorite songs!
Theres no waste in any album of this humongous band!!
Mine as well, great album, great to listen from start to the end, just great. So what can you do, when your dream world is gone, your friends and lovers too?
Listen to this album
He really does have an amazing voice. I'd almost forgotten this old gem.
brian whoppit No way
got this ablum when i was 10, played it to death, mum hated it
Laredo Tornado is definitely an underrated song by ELO. I love it, though. Lots of strings and our buddy, Jeff, hitting some pretty high notes! Evocative imagery as well. Quite the album, Eldorado.
Got this as a brithday present when I turned 18... thanks Patti! R.I.P. my girl. I love and miss you!
The "you" that you refer to is neither "I" nor "we." Presidential choices in the US run on money more than anything else. Just thought I'd clarify that point.
i didnt even know you people had good taste in music, you sure dont have good taste in presidential candidates.
Don't try this at home.
haunting. beautiful. LOVE
where did Jeff learn Spanish!!!!!!!
In Spain.
love E.L.O. audio from them has always been spectacular!
Do we have to watch this Republigoon propaganda crap before we can listen to the incredibly talented Jeff Lynne sing one of best songs? This is perverse!
Remembering my mom cleaning the house with this album playing on her record player. <3
Sounds like Abba's Eagle
Laredo Tornado. Adios amigos. What can you do when your dream world is gone, and your friends and lovers too? No no no no no no.
Was the best of ELO, they made it to show the Beatles to go on...
Anyone has the chords to this Masterpiece?
Eldorado is my favorite ELO album.
@snuffereet yeah, why is that? 'Course, for me, it's "Nobody's Child" - like a torch-singer vamp goin' on.
@johnnydelbravo no gillettes on the set? i dunno. lol
Beautiful and haunting. . .
Been singing this all day.... it just came into my head . So I have had to look it up and listen to it! And guess what its brilliant..
A friend once described to me how emotional it was when he experienced a tornado right in his neighborhood. Emotional. Tornadoes are a dark and strange natural event. Which are two words I would use to describe this song. Brilliant and moving are two other words that come to mind.
This song and "Mister Kingdom" are the two best from this masterpiece album! Funny thing is my least favorites songs off here (though I don't hate them) are the two singles they released.
my favorite track on the album. i like how the first verse starts.
ELO, the Best.... Beautiful Song.
