Electric Light Orchestra - I'm Leaving You Lyrics
Golden days, drift into the haze
And times gone by, when days were so young
Now those days, have all slipped away
You think you're going to leave me, all on my own
You're leaving me, you're leaving me
But just before you go, there's something you should know
I've found somebody new, and I'm leaving you
Golden times, roll across my mind
And then they fly away, into the night
New day's gone, and I see it won't
I will remember you looking away from it all
But just before you go, there's something you should know
I've found somebody new, and I'm leaving you

Electric Light Orchestra I'm Leaving You Comments
Extraordinarily gifted musician. I hear so many influences in his music which is a reflection of his genius.
Beautiful song... Beautiful melody!!! Thanks JEFF!!! Thanks ELO!!!
No. That's Jeff all the way.
Naaw , Jeff inspired them .
Mr Orbison is looking down and smiling :)
Jeff Orbison.
Such a bittersweet song lmao And it sounds like Orbison. Great song
Yes, Jeff always has one Orbison tribute song on each of his albums. I LOVE the little hat tip to Orbison in the video to the song When I Was a Boy where the rocking chair with Roy Orbison's guitar is in it just like in the video to End of the Line by The Traveling Wilburys. Pure genius and it is just like stepping back in time. Awesome stuff!
Ooo what other tribute songs on other albums of his has lynne made for orbison?? And thats so cool, i didnt realize the little wilbury cameos in the video, but it looks like theyre short a wilbury? It has to be them since theyre dressed like in the handle with care video. God bless ✌🏼
It sings to my experiences.love elo.love jeff.so right on with what im feeling.
Roy Orbinson---First reaction before I read your comments.
Damnit, I'd kill to hear Roy sing this tune
Yeah, it would be quite spectacular.
this song makes me feel sad when i am going to leave someone you love.
+Michael Williams You're going to leave someone I love ???? good !
no because I love my family.
+neoperseus I don't think he gets it lol
+Seamus Sloan I've come across a lot of that lately.
This is total Roy Orbison! It rocks!
Am I the only one who doesn't get this?? It's not ELO anymore, it's Jeff Lynne does Roy Orbison / George Harrison etc. Where is the ELO sound that got me into the group in the first place? Jeff Lynne is what he is, a great singer, songwriter, producer but ELO created the ELO sound as a whole. Jeff Lynne can't create it on his own however good he is so why package the album as ELO when it is a Jeff Lynne solo project.
mapgroup2000 As a huge ELO/Jeff Lynne fan I have to totally agree. One man does not an orchestra make. Great music here.Jeff Lynne music.....not ELO music.
lol it's pure Jeff, which is exactly what ELO "was", and "is" pure Jeff, period..
It doesnt sound like elo because all the others are dead
As long as Jeff Lynnne is there, it is ELO.
This album sounds like Secret Messages and Balance of Power. I guess those 2 albums don't sound like ELO?? LOL
this album is stunning it's got everything on it god bless ya jeff and thanks
Great album, loved this song from first few notes.
I love hearing Jeff's music, it reminds me I'm not alone.
Seems a bit like a Roy Orbison track, but cant see anything wrong with that, beautiful song, from a brilliant álbum.
Jeff Lynne always has an Orbison tribute song on each of his new albums, so there DEFINITELY isn't anything wrong with it. He always expresses his huge admiration and respect for Orbison and I think that is pretty awesome. Orbison's memory deserves every bit of that admiration and respect.
zoom is great
Beautiful
I love Jeff, but I honestly hoped this album would have been a little more rocking and theatrical. It just sounds a lot like Long Wave to me. a little too laid back for my taste. Check out Zoom and compare and you will see what I mean.
+Mike Davis I agree that Zoom was a better album, but I also think that Armchair Theatre was a better album than Zoom. But still, even as laid back as this album is, it's still good music.
I hated Armchair Theatre. I love AITU.
Beautiful
I'm almost certain the spirits of Roy and George were with Jeff when he recorded this beautiful album.
reminds me of Roy Orbison
It should! Roy Orbison was an idol of Jeff's.
