Edith Piaf - Mon Vieux Lucien Lyrics

Quelle chance que t'as
D'avoir, Lucien,
Un vieux copain
Comme moi
Moi, tu me connais
J'aime rigoler
Et m'amuser,
Pas vrai?
Alors ce soir
Histoire de rire
Et tu peux me croire
Sans réfléchir
Comme ça pour voir
Et sans prévenir
J'ai dit aux copains:
"On va chez Lucien"

Quelle chance que t'as
D'avoir, Lucien,
Un vieux copain
Comme moi
Tu peux te vanter
Lorsque j'y pense
D'avoir de la chance
Tu sais!
Mais tu ne dis rien
Tu me laisses parler
Je te connais bien
Tu me fais marcher
Moi ça ne fait rien
Tu peux y aller
Mais maintenant, ça va
Et dis-moi pourquoi
Tu fais cette tête-là
Comme ça
Mais... Regarde-moi...
T'as les yeux gonflés
Je t'ai réveillé?
Ah non! T'écrivais à ta Bien-aimée...
Qu'est-ce que tu caches là?
Là... dans ton tiroir...
Eh bien, quoi, fais voir! ...
Tu voulais me faire peur?!...
Ah... Ha! Ce que t'es blagueur!

Quelle chance que t'as
D'avoir, Lucien,
Un vieux copain
Comme moi
Mai je te connais
Mieux que personne
C'est ce qui t'étonne,
Pas vrai?
Un autre que moi
Ne comprendrait pas
Mais moi je devine
Que tu me taquines
Tu veux peut-être
Finir ta lettre...
Je vais le dire aux copains,
Et puis, tu nous rejoins...

Quelle chance que t'as
C'est pas pour dire
Que j'aime bien rire
Crois-moi!
Un autre que moi
Aurait marché
A ton ciné
Pas moi!
Allez, au revoir
A tout à l'heure
T'en fais une tête, sacré farceur!
Ah non! Bien sûr que j'ai pas peur!
Toi y a pas de danger
De te voir un jour
Souffrir et mourir
D'amour...

Lucien!...
Eh bien quoi, Lucien!...
Donne-moi ce que t'as dans la main!
Ah! Ce t'agréable d'être ton copain!
Ah non, Lucien!
Allez...
Viens!...

    "Mon Vieux Lucien"

    How lucky you are
    To have, Lucien,
    An old pal
    like me.
    Me, you know me
    I love to laugh
    and have a good time
    Right?
    So tonight,
    To have a laugh,
    And you can believe me
    without thinking about it,
    to see what would happen
    without any warning,
    I said to our friends
    Let’s go to Lucien’s house

    How lucky you are
    To have, Lucien,
    An old friend
    Like me.
    You can boast,
    When I think of it,
    Of being lucky,
    You know!
    But you’re not saying anything
    You let me talk
    I know you well
    You’re pulling my leg
    It doesn’t bother me
    You can go on
    But, right now, that’s it
    And tell me why
    You’re sulking
    like that
    But … look at me
    With your puffy eyes …
    Did I wake you up?
Ah – no! You’re writing to your girlfriend
    What are you hiding there?
There … in your drawer …
    Well, let’s see it! …
You want to scare me ?
Ah – ha ! What a joker you are !

    How lucky you are
    To have, Lucien,
    An old friend
    like me
    But I know you
    Better than anyone
    That’s you’re surprised,
    Right?
    Another than me
    Wouldn’t understand
    But I can guess
    That you’re teasing me
    You might want
    To finish your letter
    I’ll tell our pals
And then, you can come back to the party

    How lucky you are
    It’s not to say
    That I like to laugh
    Believe me!
    Another than me
    Would have believed
    your story
    Not me!
    Okay, Good bye
    See you soon
You’re looking unhappy, you bloody joker
Of course! I’m not afraid of you
    For you, there’s no risk
    Of one day seeing you
    Dying and suffering
    Of love …

    Lucien! …
    How about it, Lucien
Give me what’s in your hand
Ah! It’s nice to be your pal
    Ah no, Lucien
    Let’s go …
    Come on !

My French not good either, but I think that at 0:56 she sees some unexpected friend in the audience, greets them and then - da-da-da da da carries on  +Robert Smith

    @Espen1983
"Remarquez, je me suis déjà trompé hier. Il faut que je me guérisse de cela, sinon je ne la chanterai jamais. Allez, je recommence...." Please note that I already forgot yesterday. I have to be cured for this, else I will never sing it . Well, I start again....More or less that is what she said.

  17. E.... H....

This is such a wonderful song! :-)
But can anyone explain to me what she says after 0:56?... I don't understand French and would love to understand what she says before the song start up again :-)

    E.... H....

She says, I messed up yesterday as well. I'll start the song over otherwise I'll never sing it all the way through.
