It also reminds me of that nostalgic feeling I sometimes get whenever it’s raining, or when I’m on the bus and I can see the fog on the windows. Staring wistfully into nothingness and just being in the moment.

the original is debatably better for being able to hide the lyrics with a catchy beat and such. both equally beautiful for different reasons. :)

Even if he sang the more graphic parts of the song, I bet EDEN would be able to use those lyrics to draw out our tears. One of my favorite bits about him is how he takes the topic of sex and gives it incredible emotional value. Sometimes, by covering a song with a different tone (like Hey Ya!) — his live cover of "Novacane" is a great example. He sings, "fuck me good, fuck me long, fuck me numb," and I'm crying through it.

Here's why that is (I think)
I think its intentional. In the original song, there's a bit that the guy goes "What's cooler than being cool?" And a bunch of guys yell back "Ice cold!" So I think he says "I'm too cold for this" a few times because being cold is cooler than being cool.

Yikes. Just because you resonate with one more than another doesn't mean better.

Not to mention. The original is just as sad. Especially with the added context that the point is that the song is upbeat to hide the sad and depressed undertones. People who slow it down take out the entire point of the song which is hiding behind a pop coating to Express sadness.

It's just easier to digest by people who are open to sadness
