Eddie Rabbitt - Gone Too Far Lyrics

I was heading home I hadn't planned on you
I shouldn't be here now, but tell me, what can I do?
The way you're looking in my eyes
Well, I'm beginning to realize it's true
It's you
And baby we've

Gone too far, I'm gonna wake up in your arms
Gone too far, but I can't help it, I'm fallin'

The way you look at me, the way I look at you
The way you're touching me, the way I'm touching you
You're pullin' all the right strings, baby
You're sayin' all the right things, baby, to me
To me
And I believe we've

Gone too far, feels too good to turn back now
Gone too far, but I can't help it, I'm fallin'

You're pullin' all the right strings baby
You're sayin' all the right things, baby, to me
To me
And don't you know we've

Gone too far, I'm gonna wake up in your arms
Gone too far, but I can't help it, I'm fallin'

Gone too far, feels too good to turn back now
Gone too far, but I can't help it, I'm fallin'

This song is DEFINITELY a classic by "Eddie Rabbitt"!! It's such a fun...upbeat catchy tune. I MOST DEFINITELY agree with the comments that people were posting saying that this is REAL COUNTRY!! This was my kind of country as a kid!! I was a HUGE FAN of "Eddie Rabbitt" back then. He was an EXCELLENT country singer!! Plus this song came out in 1980 in which I can't believe that was almost 40 YEARS AGO!! I can't believe how FAST time is going!!

I hope I'm not slighting Jimmy Johnson, and don't think I am. But I think that's Larry Byrom on the magnificent lead guitar. Formerly of Steppenwolf.

I love this song and love this version. It's hard to improve on perfection but for an even better version, listen to the "Live at the Roxy 1981" version. His Hare Trigger touring band was always great.

I agree with you 100%. The backing musicians must be first class, and the producer is an absolute genius. I really love the last instrumental part(before the song fades out). This definitely is my #1 favorite Eddie Rabbitt song. Probably Repetitive Regret is #2!
