Ed Sheeran - Way Home Lyrics
Well I once heard a story about a run-down home
Where a man and his thoughts lived all alone
He tried to live, no effort was shown
He’s slowly finding a way back home
They never could solve his way to be down
Cos he’s one dog who don’t want a bone
He’s slowly finding a way back home
He had a nice house with windows and doors
He said to his wife what’s mine is yours
But the seeds of deception are soon to be sown
He’s slowly finding a way back home
His children have left but the rooms are still there
But far from the nest the babies have flown
He’s slowly finding a way back home
His wife was an angel sent from above
He never returned her kisses or love
But soon he’d found that she’d overgrown
This man who’s finding a way back home
So the leaves are all dead in this broken man’s June
The rain will still fall on the sunny afternoon
He stares at the floor, no more to roam
He’s slowly finding a way back home
Well I once heard a story about a run-down home
Where a man with regrets lived all alone
He tried to live, no effort was shown
He’ll never find a way back home

Favorite Ed song of all time
Ed must be like, "Shoot. I didn't want anyone to hear this, even though it's gold" XD
it must be The Hobbit's official song
Do you know the Background music of R.E.M.-Drive? It's just the same!
I love this Song of Ed♡♥ it's just "perfect" ;-)

This gives me "House of the rising sun" vibes so much.
Are u going 2 Scarborough fair?
Beware, beware, the Dragonborn comes..
Sounds like I See Fire, but this is filled with way many feelings than the other
TF WHAT
HAVE YOU EVEN LISTENED TO THE LYRICS OF I SEE FIRE !?
This is folk right?
this simply reminds me of lord of the rings
+Yeliz Yeah i know right? but WHY? is it the mellody?
Yeliz maybe bc it's so similar to "I see fire", which was in the soundtrack
does anyone know why this isn't on iTunes??
ed wants to pretend this ep doesnt exist
@carebearz But why? :(
Sounds like Scarborough fair and house of the rising sun!
Can anybody tell me which album this is from please ? I agree very Simon and garfunkle ...excellent folk song. :)
@Billy Russom Yeah, I know. And I think I know all of his songs, but thank you. :) I meant "Ed Sheeran" was his first album - not EP.
@Alina I've always heard this one referred to as an EP. I mean, even the description calls it an EP. I've never really cared about the difference, but I always thought an EP was an album released before the artist gets signed to a label, which is pretty much what this is. Granted, it's like, double the length of an average EP, but I don't know if that matters.
I'd also like to thank you for being polite, it would've been pretty easy to be rude there, correcting me and all that.
@Billy Russom I don't know the difference, but I always thought that there were less tracks on an EP than on an album. About 4-9 or something.
I don't care either, though. :)
Oh, no need to thank me. It's totally okay to correct me if I'm wrong. :D
@Alina That's the thing, I don't know if I'm wrong or if you're wrong. We could both be wrong for all I know. In the end, it doesn't even matter.
@Billy Russom Well, you think The Orange Room and Ed Sheeran are both EPs. I think The Orange Room is an EP and Ed Sheeran an album. So me saying "his first EP Ed Sheeran" was definitely wrong - no matter whose definition is right. :D
Yeah, it doesn't really matter. :>
I think is just me, but this remind me of "Twilight" soundtrack
lol..exactly what I thought!
"I see Fire" sounds just like this
+Shawna Reaume well, both are like kind medieval
Did he write this?
Yep ed writes all his song! But he might have co writer help him
+Isabelle .Defield he was fourteen so he didn't have any co writers
@Ruby Bond Indeed!
But as he got older he got co writers!
:D
@james owens he did, this is a rather common folk chord pattern though.
This reminds me of "I See Fire"!
Exactly! I wanted to say that :)
gonna be one of my fav. Ed songs
I am the only one around here who thinks this sounds like simon and garfunkel?
You're not. My very first thought upon hearing this ! (:
@tryaliltenderness thats exactly what i was thinking
So frickin good
reminds me of Scarborough Fair by Simon and Garfunkel!
Sounds pretty good to me, good job!
I can tell this is heavily influenced by Bob Dylan.
My mother says the same thing every time she hears this song.
This reminds me of Scarbarough Fair
I've never heard this before and I've been a Sheerio for over a year. :o
So I'm supposed to write my next English speech on a song that deals with an issue and god dammit if Ed's songs aren't perfect for that nothing is
This sounds a bit like The Hanging Tree! I absolutely love this song :)
how could a person be so perfect like that, whenever someone says I cried for a song I feel it's sarcastic, but I know what it means, cause I cry for no reason when I hear his music!! so perfect
scarbourgh fair
Maybe "House of the rising sun" by The Animals? Sounds very similar...
I swear I've heard this before in a tv show or movie, but I just can't remember it xD
Awesome song btw.
I think it sounds a little bit like Simon & Garfunkel - Scarborough Fair, but I might be wrong. :)
Oh Ed<3 What's up my fellow Sheerio's?
I'm happy to be a part of this :)
My girlfriend has a great taste of music. The song reminds me of the Animals' House of the rising sun. It's lovely.
That must have been all you did that day. lol
This song is so beautiful and haunting. I love it.
ed sheeran is sooooo under-rated.....
but yet still people like 2chainz is so popular.
VERY UNFAIR!!!!!!!!!!
i think its"the sense in the air."see 1:33 for reference
Commence kick ass song for the lone wolf cowboy

Only true sheerios find these videos and actually bother to listen again:)
Holy..this song gives me the creeps.
this is awesome
I heard this song before holy shit my did had it on a cd
The melody reminds me of Scarborough Fair's...
Ooooohhhhhhh good one folky.
When I was 15 I thought frying eggs was a great achievement and then there's Ed... Who writes this awesomeness!!!!!
same here
I agree it is rather scary...
Yes, but in a very beautiful way haha :)
Am i the only one who finds this scary ??
im doing the same right now, i know im gonna sound like an obsessed pervert, but i SERIOUSLY didnt expect his earlier music to be this good, and for the past hour all ive been sayiing is 'fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck' and when ive finished i say 'shit, shit, shit, shit' again and again. and whats wierd, is that i promised myself to NEVER turn into an obsessive fan...yet here i am. (sorry about my language, but i just dunno what to say...)
This reminds me of "Richard Cory" by Simon and Garfunkel.
I love how this song tells a story :) ed is such an amazing song writer
I was thinking that too! I think that's why it's my favorite Ed Sheeran song
this sounds like Scarborough Fair XD
And im shure 'stranger' is inspired of this.
This remaind me of a music camp. Of a verry speciel song, actually
Definitely one of my favorite songs-3
Oh my God! I can't believe this is Ed! Thank you so much uploader!! Awesome.
