Ed Sheeran - Take It Back / Superstition / Ain't No Sunshine Lyrics

I'm not a rapper I'm a singer with a flow
I've got a habit for spitting quicker lyrics you know
You'll find me ripping the written out of the pages they sit in
I never want to get bitten
Cause plagiarism is hidden
Watch how I sit on the rhythm
Prisoner with a vision
Signs of a label
But didn't listen to any criticism
Thought you knew but you didn't
So perk your ears up and listen
Studio is a system
And you could say that I'm driven
And now it's onto the next saga
We drink the best lager
I'll never try to win you over like your stepfather
I do my own thing now
And get respect after
And I'm avoiding the 'caine
Like it was Get Carter
For four years I never had a place to stay
But it's safe to say that it kept me grounded
Like a paper weight
At 16 years old yeah I moved out of my home
I was Macy Gray I tried to say goodbye and I choked
Went from sleeping at a subway station
To sleeping with a movie star
And adding to the population
Not my imagination
I don't wanna relax
Would it hurt your reputation if I put it on wax?
I take it back now

Mmmm come on and take it back love
Come on and take it back for us
Don't you fade into the back love
No

I take it back with the rhythm and blues
With my rap pack I'll be singing the news
Tryin' act like Jack Black
When I bring it to school
I make a beat with my feet
By just hittin' the loop
Bringing the lyrics to prove
That I can fit in these shoes
I give you the truth through the vocal booth
And stars burst out on the scene
Like an opal fruit
They try to take aim like Beckham when he goes to shoot
But then again that's what they're supposed to do
And I'm supposed to be calm
I tattooed the lyrics onto my arm
Whispering everything that happens
Is from now on
I'll be ready to start again
By the end of the song
Since they are claiming I handled it wrong
But then I've never had an enemy
Except the NME but I'll be selling
Twice as many copies as their magazine will ever be
With only spectacles ahead of me
And festival fees are healthier than a Dalmatian on pedigree
Singing for the masses rubber dingied rapids
I keep this rapping a habit and keep on fashioning magic
I'm battling for respect and I don't know if I have it
This song's from the heart cover the planet
I take it back now

Mmmm come on and take it back love
Come on and take it back for us
Don't you fade into the back love
No
And take it back now

Now I don't ever wanna be perfect
Cause I'm a singer that you never wanna see shirtless
And I accept the fact that someone's got to win worst dressed
Taken my first steps into the scene giving me focus
Putting on a brave face like Timothy Dalton
Considering a name change thinking it was hopeless
Rhyming over recordings, avoiding tradition
'Cause every days some lyrics and a melody can be written
Now absence can make your heart ache
But drinking absinth can change your mind state
Vividly need to let my liver be
And I'll say it again living life on the edge with a close handful of friends
Is good advice from the man that took his life on the road with me
And I hope to see him blowing up globally
'Cause that how it's supposed to be
I'm screaming out vocally
It might seem totally impossible achieving life's dreams
But, but I just write schemes
I'm never having a stylist giving me tight jeans
Madison Square Garden is where I might be
But more likely you find me in the back room of a dive bar with my mates
having a pint of McDaid discussing records we made
and every single second knowing that we'll never betray
the way we were raised remembering our background sat down, that's how we plan it out
It's time to take it back now

Mmmm come on and take it back love
Come on and take it back for us
Don't you fade into the back love
No

Mmm come on and take it back love
Come on and take it back for us
Don't you fade into the back love
No

Very superstitious, writings on the wall,
Very superstitious, ladders bout' to fall,
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin' glass
Seven years of bad luck, the good things in your past

Believing things that you don't understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition ain't the way
Superstition ain't the way
Superstition ain't the way
Superstition ain't the way
Superstition ain't the way

My dreams keep me awake at night
Written in rhymes, 'til I deliver the hype
Am I just living the lie
With this you must know that the number's just sold whoa
Will keep me going through the tough times, dream with me
We forget 90 per cent of it when we wake
But the other 10 per cent it never fades
Dreaming dreams, day to day goals
Stay awake loads, try to make the cut like the
Paper or razor blade, oh, never give up
And just remember just to hold out more
A couple years ago
I couldn't just control that thought
You'd find me buskin' on the street
When it was cold outdoors
And now I'm sweating on the stage of a sold out tour
Writing love songs for the sake of it
Never to make a hit
You can't fake talent and work ethic just to make it quick
I'm not a rapper I'm a singer, I just take the piss and
Most of these other guys are kids that Pulses
Little sister has to babysit, that's just the way it is
Dreams you own, just set your goals
And have the utmost faith in it; tread your own path
You'll never make it as a follower, you'll never know
Where you will go or where you will be tomorrow rha.

Superstition ain't the way
Superstition ain't the way
Superstition ain't the way
Superstition ain't the way
Superstition ain't the way

Superstition, babe
Superstition, babe
Superstition, babe
Superstition, babe
Superstition, babe
Superstition, babe
Superstition, babe
Superstition, babe

Cause ain't no sunshine when she's gone
It's not warm when she's away.
Cause ain't no sunshine when she's gone
She's always gone too long
Anytime she goes away.

I wonder this time where she's gone
Wonder if she's gone to stay
Cause ain't no sunshine when she's gone
She's always gone too long
Anytime she goes away.

And I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, know

Hey, I oughta leave young thing alone
But ain't no sunshine when she's gone

Oh anytime she goes away
Superstition ain't the way
Oh anytime she goes away
Superstition ain't the way
Oh anytime she goes away
Superstition ain't the way

  3. s.... ....

  4. K.... K....

  7. M.... M....

Has the crowd's attention. A man with a guitar and loop pedal. Now that's talent like I've never seen before. Watched it so may times and loved it more each time.

  8. R.... D....

You know how hard to do what he's just done??? And switch to rap to two classic tunes and do it he's way. The bollocks

  9. J.... J....

I have seen Ed live twice now. Worth every sent. Videos don't do him justice. He is better live. If you get a chance go

    J.... J....

Been once and I'm going next year once again ♥ definitely agree with you :)

    J.... J....

sent sent sent sent sent sent sent sent sent sent sent sent sent sent sent sent sent sent sent sent sent

  10. C.... M....

Singing while retuning his guitar haha amazing

  11. S.... C....

    WOW just WOW

  12. J.... P....

Ladies and Gentlemen: I leave here a cover of How Would You Feel by the wonderful Ed Sheeran. I recorded it outdoors in the beautiful city of Amsterdam. Hope you can tell me what you think!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8Nyn9rJvHU

  13. S.... R....

He can save some money doing 5 people band himself

  14. m.... ....

is" take it back" his original song or a cover??

    m.... ....

    It's his song :)

  15. V.... L....

i'm trying to learn 'take it back' but it's soooo fast xD

    V.... L....

It took me a solid month to get it right but it's so worth it once you know it ahah

  16. l.... w....

he can cover any song and make it his own. truly gifted. love his voice and this is coming from a very matured person.

  17. R.... ....

What a crafty fellow , went to rap while downtuning

  18. g.... ....

    Es el puto amo!!! crack

  19. S.... A....

    The crowd are truly awful

    S.... A....

Stuart Andrews They adjust the crowd volume begore uploading so we can hear him, there's same ones on here from personal rec and its a huge difference

  20. G.... D....

saw him concert a few years back and he blew my mind as to how awesome of an entertainer he is....I. would go see him concert again!!!

  21. S.... P....

    Bad. Please dont rap.

    S.... P....

    S Parker you’re fucking dumb

  22. G.... B....

    Awesome

  23. W.... S....

He does every genre in one concert.. what an overall experience!

    W.... S....

He's ridiculously talented. We don't deserve him ❤

  24. V.... ....

    what a legend

  25. J.... J....

I take that back, his take on superstition was awesome and very creative!

  26. J.... J....

But he's a awesome singer and deserves the fame and praise. I just don't really rock with him. but I do respect his craft.

  27. J.... J....

I feel Ed is slightly overrated. He's not really unique.

    J.... J....

Okey so who is he like then. Name another artist like him ? Someone that makes so many song no just for himself and for other artists. One that can play the guitar in such a way and live mix on stage. His romantic style of music. He might not be your cuppa tea but hes definitely unique.

    J.... J....

well he is not the best guitarist by far

    J.... J....

J J name any other artist that writes songs for himself and other artists and can entertain a crowd with just a guitar and a loop pedal

    J.... J....

@Tamás Gergely He's not the best professionally, he's the best at what he does. No one can play like Ed; he's the best at it, along with singing, having a stage presence and all the other things he does while on stage, would more than make up for it, if it needed amending, which it doesn't. Its perfect.

  28. M.... D....

    shit crowd

  29. J.... J....

what tuning is he in for this song

  30. Z.... C....

    Luvly❤amazing❤

  31. M.... ....

    tabs anyone plzzz?

  32. C.... M....

somehow his count and cadence sound AWFULLY FAMILIAR

  33. N.... H....

Check out my cover of this!! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Z39M0DYtOYE&feature=youtube_gdata_player Check out my cover of this!

  34. V.... G....

    Incredible.

  35. J.... A....

I was kind of nervous about how he would make the transitions. He made them perfectly <3

    J.... A....

    Never be nervous with Ed.

    J.... A....

Only Ed could pull this off

  36. A.... R....

    Me gusta

  37. J.... K....

    very good.

  38. J.... F....

He really should leave rap to the people who can't sing.

    J.... F....

+Jim Fortune ..That British accent gets in the way. I like the diversity in the genre

    J.... F....

Jim Fortune the album version is better of take it back to be fair but still great though

    J.... F....

i feel like he can use the skills he has to whatever purpose he wants, you can't keep thinking of ed sheeran as "the guy who makes these romantic ballad songs" you feellin me? He's an artist c:

    J.... F....

Anyone who says that obviously doesn't know rap or Ed. He is probably exhausted in this vid and has to take more breath, he's still amazing. Just listen to his "You Need Me, I Don't Need You" from the live and in session ep and if your mind isn't changed your judgement is invalid, Ed is a ridiculously talented rapper, singer, and all around musician and writer

    J.... F....

    The troll is real
