Easton, Sheena - You Can Swing It Lyrics
First there was a dance
Then the music stopped
A chain of circumstance
Left you broken up
How did every dream
I still believe in you
You still believe in trust...me
[Bridge:]
Don't let me catch you down
Like a fallen angel
You should've known that
I would be lifting you higher
So pick up the beat
And you can swing it
[Chorus:]
Yeah we're gonna swing it together
Take control
Everything will turn out better
Can't you see
We're gonna swing it together
Take control
Everything will turn out better
Easily seduced
Temptation everywhere
Surrender to the blues
Surrender to despair
Life is what we choose
The heart will always bleed
For every kind of love
Is every kind we need...now
[Bridge]
[Chorus]

Easton, Sheena You Can Swing It Comments
It was a new Jack swing time in NCAA trying to do something that they shouldn’t do but she had a voice that she could if you want to meet like bubblegum pop tart anyway this song and this album is not available on iTunes I want to freaking refund MCA records LOL
I haven’t done the YouTube, and a while but I want to address this thank you to the person that posted that because I have the CD when I was like 15 years old and I continue with parts in a minute.
First there was a dance
Then the music stopped
A chain of circumstance
Left you broken up
How did every dream
Cycle into dust
I still believe in you
You still believe in trust...me
[Bridge:]
Don't let me catch you down
Like a fallen angel
You should've known that
I would be lifting you higher
So pick up the beat
And you can swing it

I want this album on ITunes now!
@ 2:28......NOBODY MENTIONED THE SAMPLE OF LAQUAN'S "NOW'S THE B TURN"......
what do these music critics think they are saying about this album. i have it and think it's AWESOME!!! Go Sheena!
Sounds like Mary J. Blige's Changes I've Been Going Through.
Great music!
Someone please upload the Radio Edit with Rap version.
I haven't heard it since about 1991
+Marquis Hopwood .....I have the maxi single cassette that has that version on it. See if you can find it somewhere. Good luck. I love it. ☺
That's my next course of action...Thanks!👌👍
The 12" extended version of this was great and didn't dent the dance charts - excellent song - preferred this over the album's title track.
It more harder than the album mix i do prefer extended club version as well.
This always reminds me of the Mentality mix of Bell Biv Devoe's Do me!!.
It samples it in the breakdown with "Wolf and Epic, bring the instrumental".
Great track that should have had more of an impact at the time.
I agree with you, I think this track didnt get the props it deserved because R&B and New Jack Swing heads back then must have looked at Sheena Easton as Pop artist trying to jump on the New Jack band wagon and traditional Sheena Easton fans must have thought this track was too Urban.
My local station played it daily. But that's the benefit of having a college station being the only R&B FM station in the area.
There was a remix to this that was even funkier than this version! Club version? Man, I have been looking to it ever since...
RemixRick1 hip hop mix
Whatever happened to her?
MCA didn't put much effort into promoting this album and the club DJs didn't show it much love, and these were the reasons why it flopped. The album is ok, but I didn't love it. Her vocals are excellent but the tracks were overproduced and that's why the critics trashed it. I agree with others that the extended club mixes were better than the album cuts. The title track from this album (What Comes Naturally) tip toed around the Top 40 for over 2 months but it barely broke the Top 20 and then fell off. None of the other singles from this album charted. That was a surprise because she was stunningly beautiful, white-hot, and definitely one of the best vocalists from the 80s/90s.
What happened is that she had transitioned herself into an R&B/Dance performer, and she lost her footing when New Jack Swing went out of style. The next few albums that she did was a completely different Sheena. The big hair, sexy mini dresses, the pretty boys dancing around her in the videos, and the hot beats were all gone; and the music was back to being more pop than R&B. I'd say she took bad advice from whoever told her to make those changes. She never charted again.
Someome please upload "Half a Heart" fron this album. That was also a great song. Thanks!
man i was just looking at 1 of my old soul train vcr tapes and saw her do this. started searching and here it is. loving u tube. big ups for the download nkz.
