Duran Duran - Skin Divers Lyrics

Walking under skies
Waiting for the fall
Meet me at the cornershop I'll show you it all
Free you of your mind
Something you wont find
In the west-end pages with your google dirty fingers

It's a skin dive
In deep silence we are
Going underwater
It's a lifeline
Teardrop, bullets, all night
Dip into the water

[Rap:]
Baby, that's what it feels like when you come up for air
When you come up for air
You feel brand new
When you come up for air
When you come up for air
That's what it feels like when you come up for air
When you come up for air
You feel brand new
When you come up for air
When you come up for air

Wipe us of the face
Of the human race
Whichever way you look it's indisposed or disgraced
Fighting on the shore
The hoi polloi want more
Howling bloody murder but it's nothing just a murmur

In your skin dive
In deep silence we are
Going underwater
It's a lifeline
Teardrop, bullets, all night
Slip into the water

[Rap:]
Baby....that's what it feels like when you come up for air
When you come up for air
You feel brand new
When you come up for air
When you come up for air
That's what it feels like when you come up for air
When you come up for air
You feel brand new
When you come up for air
When you come up for air

A blushing rose is torn
From these sugar walls
I've misplaced my future could I please borrow yours?
Panic on the scene
You know what I mean
Anything you want to be the only thing you want from me

Is skin dive
In deep silence we are
Going underwater
It's a lifeline
Teardrop, bullets, all night
Go inside the water

[Rap:]
Babygirl you're swimming
A little too deep
So deep....that I think you might hit a reef
I think you low on oxygen
And you're too glad to leave
Babygirl swim to the top
Grab my hand and hold me and breathe

Baby....that's what it feels like when you come up for air
When you come up for air
You feel brand new
When you come up for air
When you come up for air
That's what it feels like when you come up for air
When you come up for air
You feel brand new
When you come up for air
When you come up for air

Can imagine the mayan tribe dancing to the tribal beat of this song after December 21st 2012 in the dimensions they are residing at and rejoicing and dancing to the tribal beat of modern day make of skin divers etc.. 😊 it's like I saw and felt the mayans dancing and celebrating when I heard this song in back in early..2012 😊 then I realised about Dranvalo Melchiezedek's book called 'Serpent of light' that was also around that time etc 👌👍👏😊

its kinda weird that songwriting on critically maligned Red Carpet Massacre is overall more focused, fresher and more daring than on praised comeback Astronaut. I mean - Astronaut sounds bland and painfully unmemorable. For all its tackiness and misguidedness RCM at least delivers some interesting sounds.

there was whole lotta executive meddling all along. Danja was supposed to do the whole thing, but he wasn't ready for the job like this, then Timbaland and Timberlake were brought in as a measure of damage control. Label was definitely throwing things to the wall looking for something that would stick.

I think if the whole thing was better thought-through - say a sequence of songs with Timbaland, something with Timberlake in the middle and a sequence of Danja songs - it would be much better than "a little bit of this and little bit of that and also this and that and that" which resulted in sacramental "these guys are from england and who gives a shit?"

I'm not a big fan of Astronaut but it has its moments. "Chains" is truly an amazing track in my opinion, it's likely one of my favourite DD track ever. However, I thought Red Carpet Massacre was indeed better. It had a few memorable songs, I mainly loved "Box Full O'Honey" and "Falling Down", but "Red Carpet Massacre" and "She's too Much" were also quite good. To be honest, I think "Paper Gods" has to be my least favourite DD album so far. The only track I really liked was "Butterfly Girl", sadly.

+Uru Not much of Astronaut really grabbed my attention but "Point of No Return", "Chains", and "Still Breathing" were my favorites off of that one. Surprised that you don't care that much for Paper Gods, but you do like some of the stuff from RCM. I think both RCM & PG reflect a lot of DD's "sound" combined with the sounds/style of that particular era in which they were recorded.

I'm not really sure why I don't like Paper Gods. Maybe I should listen to it some more, but songs like "Pressure Off" really put me off. The lyrics seem thoughtless, which is really a shame because I love LeBon's poetry. It's still DD, but it sounds like they're trying very hard to sound like today's pop music. Some of the songs are catchy but that's about it. To me it feels like they rely way too much on other artists on this album.

To me "All You Need Is Now" is their best album of this decade, as it sounds current but it has that layer of nostalgia on top of it. It just felt like they finally found the right balance. Then comes Paper Gods, which seems like two steps back. I'll still wait for another album nonetheless, I really love DD's music in general and I know they came up with a few mixed bags before, so I'm not losing hope.

Comeback? they've been making albums every four years consistently since '81 They've always been around since then every album is different in own way so why compare? its like comparing children and picking favorites of your children...these songs are their children..musick is music is muzik let it be..
