Something changed in the culture and music around 2004/2005. People became pussies and started listening to crap.

I think they kind of evolved like staind not saying either band is shit I luv both but dry kill logic is a lot better to my preference. Meaning that dkl still kept their "metal" state

Because people are either lazy, ignorant, or prefer to wait for the radio to "give them permission" to what to listen to. That's what these labels and producers and networks all do collectively. Put out an "image/ideal sound" and p-p-p-plug the fuck out of it until everyone either loves it or hates it. Thats why there's so many fans of - let's use Nickelback for example - and so many haters. Cuz....mainstream. Meanwhile, the bands with the REAL talent go broke trying to put all they got into their project and ultimately end up losing their following cuz ppl stop supporting and giving a shit. Happened to the band I was in. Happens way too much. Not all bands wanna be filthy fuckin rich, but there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with making at least a semi-decent living doing what you love. I mean, that IS what we all seek in life, right??

These are also the kinds of bands I prefer - the great bands who had a big enough following but didnt get fk all airplay and unfortunately a lot of them just couldnt keep going usually due to financial reasons . . . . my first time hearing these guys tonight but they are really cool

Slipknot has nothing to do with DKL. Been a fan of DKL longer than Slipknot, which I have grown out of. There is no similarities between the two. Same genre maybe, different lyrics, music, style, everything. Never compare two bands musically, you'll always be wrong.
