Drifters, The - There Goes My Baby Lyrics
(Bo-bo) (doo-doot-doo-doo-doo-doo)
(There she goes) (doo-doot-doo-doo-doo-doo)
(There she goes) (doo-doot-doo-doo-doo-doo)
(Bo-bo) (doo-doot-doo-doo)
(Bo-bo) (doo-doo-doo-doo)
There goes my baby
Movin' on down the line
Wonder where, wonder where
Wonder where she is bound?
I broke her heart
And made her cry
Now I'm alone, so all alone
What can I do, what can I do?
(There goes my baby) Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
(There goes my baby) Whoa-oh-oh-oh
(There she goes) Yeah! (There she goes)
I wanna know if she loved me
Did she really love me?
Was she just playing
Me for a fool?
I wonder why she left me
Why did she leave me
So all alone
So all alone
I was gonna tell her that I loved her
And that I need her
Beside my side
To be my guide
I wanna know where is my (doo-doot-doo-doo-doo-doo)
Where is my baby? (doo-doot-doo-doo-doo-doo)
I want my baby (doo-doot-doo-doo-doo-doo)
I need my baby
Yeah, whoa-oh-oh
(There goes my baby)
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh
(There goes my baby)
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh

Drifters, The There Goes My Baby Comments
I love the aesthetic of the time between 1945ish and 1965ish. The music, the cars, the fashion, the hair, the family values, the pride people had in themselves, also when men were men and women were women. God I wish I could live back then.
His voice should have carried a government health warning. Sent me to a place I havnt been in over 35 years. Only lasted for the length of the record. But worth every second.
It's the death of an Era. The clouds are covering the sun, all the black absorbing the light. Will it rain? Will they play that song? Do they make em anymore? No...the death of an era.
2020 anyone?

Oh my...this was 1956, a time to be a teenager in love, listening to these wonderful Drifters’ songs...talking to girls in the hall till my Mom made me hang up the old land phone. I was just 16 and LUVED it all! 🥴
Warmth of love is only second to music.
Cool music
Michelle Williams did this to get a role.
*Who's still listening in 2119?*
Someone now just enjoy it!
I was listening in 2019 AND I AM STILL LISTENING IN 2020💕❤️
Here because some girl on twitter said she was in her feelings
"Mmmm Wendy Perffercorn" "whoahh"
OH MAN*BURRY ME WITH THIS DREAMY JOINT ALREADY🔥
Any one 12/25/19?
Born in 1942, listening to this in 1959 and still listening in 2019. Nothing like this before or after.
I was born on 1989 and I love the music of the 40s 50s 60s 70s 80s and 90s, I'm so original 😁🤙
What a powerful song.
Hate to disagree but this song was released either late 58 or early 1959...have no idea where that 60's date printed came from...
And this song was out before other hits like Up on the Roof...Count The Tears, Dance With Me and others where strings and other sounds were refreshing to hear...
The lyrics are very saddening while the tempo is kind of uplifting.
So good ! I can't go home again.
Sandlot brought me here.

The sandlot brought me here!! I have a huge crush on yeah yeah ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
Wendyyy Peffercornnnnn
I met these guys after a concert in a club. Outstanding music!
i remember when the sandlot came out then i watched it. and then this song was playing in the movie. i fell in absolute love with it, and was always listening to it. those days were absolutely incredible. back in the day songs were about their life, now it’s about giving love to women. our generation has changed so much that honestly i’m tired of it. we need to bring this type of music back, it’s so much better than music today. i’m 49 years old and still listening to this masterpiece.
This would be added to my "play these at a HIGH volume" playlist
Why does this sound like stand by me
60 years ago I thought I was hearing a technical error -- a bass drum, orchestral strings, and my favorite R&B style music at the same time, all on what I believe was the first R&B record to include strings .
Hmmm GUY'S STOP PUTTING DATE AND TIME TO TIMELESS MUSIC...
The lead fucked 1k of your wives
One of the first albums I bought in 1964. I played the Drifters more than any album I had.
The production quality on this song is great.
Anyone remember this from the Sandlot??
❤❤❤❤
This was called "a song catch between to stations."
Awe flashbacks of watching the sandlot as a child when times were simpler. Great song.

Very nice
Walking in circles in the sand
My mom had me in her 40s, so I was raised by a woman who grew up in the 50s..obsessed with Elvis and the "oldies" like this song. So while peers were listening to 80s/90s bands and singers, my childhood was filled with an array of 50s songs whose lyrics I still remember to this day. She died of diabetes a few yrs. ago, and every time I want a good cry, or just want to think of her, I listen to songs like this. A part of me feels her presence listening to this and similar songs.
2019 anyone?
When the reaper comes, I'm taking this with me.
Breath taking

This song is part of the serie that my sister acted in, "By Your Side". It is a teenager love story that takes place in New Orleans during the 60's, Sawyer is in love with the new girl in town, he writes her poems, dedicates her songs, takes her on a ride in his bike, they watch the stars together, they go on a bote drive under the shinning moon, but her parents don't like him. That happened in season 1. In season 2 a mew girl "Rachel" arrives school and falls in love with Sawyer, so Becky gets jealous and they take a short distance until Sawyer explains Rachel that he is only in love with Becky and he made clear that she is only a friend, this makes Rachel fall into a depp whole of jelousy. At the winter dance Becky anf Sawyer dance the moat romantic songs until Becky feels bad for everything that had happened, so she runs out at the cliff from the lake and she gets shot by Rachel!! She is caught by Sawyer as a sad song starts playing and he starts to see flashbacks and then the sound of the police cars are being heard. And this season ended by a screen where each day Sawyer wrote a letter for her until a year of her dead passed. In season 3 we realize that Becky did not died, she was sent by her parents to a mental health care where she was taught to lose her memory due to a hard crash impact in her head. Sawyer kept writing letters for her even tho her parents moved to another city. At the hospital she fell in love with the "indicated', that was what her parents always wanted. After 3 months she is taken away from that hospital as we see scenes of how she is falling in love but at the same time having flashbacks, meanwhile Sawyer is still suffering for not "being able to save her". Becky is at a trip from her new school and that is how Sawyer realized that she was not dead!! He tries to tall to her but she reacted scared until "Mathew" her new love took her away from him, after this she fell into curiousness and she started remembering everything after she sees newspapers kept in her dad's box and that is how she realized that her parents lied to her and that Sawyer was waiting for her, but she couldn't remember him. After weeks Sawyer was finding the way to get to her until they finally did, during this season there are a lot of discussion betweeen her parents, fights between Sawyer and Mathew, the police and the hospital lies, until they finally found each other. In season 4 is all about their wedding and the flashbacks about theri past life and the serie ends with them as old people smiling and dancing unde the shinning moon and stars.
I really hope you guys see this serie!! It is so cute and it has all of the love songs you can imagine, it won a lot of rewards: bedt serie, best soundtrack, best actors, most shipped couple, etc...
This music will see no replacing, I'm 21 full of regret and one of them is not being alive to see this in person.
Right up there with "This Magic Moment" !!!!!

Always sing this song
I like this song
So beautiful
This is one of my head songs. It shows up a few times a year, and has done so for 30 years. I spontaneously sing it.
There are several songs that randomly play in my head and this is one of them. I guess that means that I love it.
Is that your sister in left field naked? She's naked!

Who is the main guy singing?
captain_ahab Ben E. King
The very first R&B tune to add a string section....
GREAT song!
Ask pikachu
Stop. Making. Sandlot. References. This song is greater than a movie.
soooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you were there you know all about this.
The Drifters were the first group during the RnR era , I believe, to use orchestral instrumentation in their music . Majority during the 50s used saxophone , piano , drums
I've always loved this song.
Thank you for posting this music for everyone else to enjoy!!
😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘💌💌💌💌
