Dokken - Broken Bones Lyrics

I Lie Awake As The Shadows Fall On Your Face
And I Wonder Are Your Sleepin All Alone
As I Miss You More And More
The Shadows Of My Dreams Have Been Shakin
As This Loneliness It Wraps Around My Soul
The Shadows Of My Dreams All Mistakin
Now I Realize Baby I'm The Fool
Still These Broken Bones Within My Soul Remain
Even Though Your Shadow Slowly Slips Away
Maybe Someday I Can Finally Find A Reason
Why These Broken Bones Within My Soul Remain
All Of The Times I Waited For You
Thinking That Your Waitin To
They Say The Blind Man Sees But Feels Nothin
Until His Loneliness Reveals The Truth
All These Bones That Lie Within My Spirit
Broken Just Like Me
Wish This Sorrow That Surrounds Me Could Release Me
May He Love You More Than Me
Still These Broken Bones Within My Soul Remain
Even Though Your Shadow Slowly Slips Away
Maybe Someday I Will Finally Know The Reason
Why These Broken Bones Within My Soul Remain
I've Been Tryin To Find A Reason
For This Emptiness And Pain
Still These Broken Bones Within My Soul Remain

    Dokken full album live

After his Back for the attack and his Beast from the East, I must confess, Dysfunctional was really dissapointing for me, with his "alternative grunge music". And never bought a cd again. Yeah, I was expecting that on the new record, the track listing were: 1) Dream Warriors, 2)Dream Warriors, 3)Dream Warriors, and going... But a few years later I heard Erase the Slate, and It blew my mind away. Then I bought all the records, and listened "Dysfunctional" with a different point of view. Sorry that they never came to Argentina!!

    d.... a....

I don't know *what* you consider to be grunge, but Dysfunctional 100% sounded absolutely *nothing* like grunge.

    d.... a....

Dysfunctional was actually prog rock fusion.

All those Grunge bands could never write or play anything close to the tasteful sounds of any Dokken record.

  16. G.... A....

Después de 1995 dokken nunca más hizo un disco bueno

  17. J.... R....

Great album, in the vein of early Dokken. Why People insist to have back the band of '80?this guys have an age, and sound good. Don have loose the high tone, but now he got more groove and melody

  18. D.... D....

These guitars are smoking! Love it

  19. M.... G....

Love it! Don"s voice is still smooth as silk.

  20. j.... ....

First time hearing the full album and I think it's great. On track 6 and haven't hit a bad song yet. Added this to my amazon want list. :)

    j.... ....

Waterfall is the only bad track on the album.

  21. S.... ....

Everyone saying they need to do albums like Tooth and Nail need to change. Gets boring to stay safe and satisfy others. I love all Doklen records. And the new stuff is just as good or better than the old music.

    S.... ....

oh bull. sounds like you're trying to make yourself feel better. Erase The Slate was a great "comeback" album. Dysfunctional sucked and everything he's released since ETS have shown his vocals to be absolutely horrendous which makes this album great by comparison because although his vocal strength is absolutely shot at least he doesn't sound SO weak in the "lower" register to where it's at least palatable so yeah Dandy Don has that going for him at least.

    S.... ....

SixxQueen91 who is Doklen? Do they rip like DD does?

    S.... ....

@Chris Powell I think you have your albums mixed up there you dumbass, Dysfunctional was basically a slightly heavier Dokken with some Beatles mixed in and it was great, you just can't handle anything heavier than tooth and nail. Lightning strikes again was the comeback album and erase the slate was a reboot of the band.

  22. M.... H....

This is not good there other albums are so much better.

    M.... H....

Not true, whether an album is better or not is objective. I'd take this and almost all his albums since Erase the slate over tooth and nail any day.

  23. C.... R....

Still remember this coming out and I screamed " sh!! Dokken is back"!

  24. c.... ....

I love this album. I can't wait for the new one they are currently working on. Rokkin with Dokken!

  25. B.... D....

STILL ON TOP OF HIS GAME!!!!!

  26. M.... ....

band is awsone, Dokken however has lost his way. in his younger years he had a much wider range on his vocal abilities both in pitch and volume. Every song on this album seems too mono tone to me and slow tempo. Old stuff way better.

    M.... ....

If you've heard him live within the last decade, it's clear he's not remotely capable of singing with that range, pitch and volume from his younger years. Age (and smoking) affect some singers more than others.

    M.... ....

Strange how being in your 60's, fighting cancer, getting vocal surgery, and being an ex-smoker limit your singing capabilities. Who knew?

  27. N.... S....

The guitarist is good but sounds a bit stiff and doesn't have the feel. Feel should always come before technique. Not George Lynch at all.

    N.... S....

Even George Lynch says he no longer plays (can play) in that style from the older Dokken days. If you hear Jon Levin live, you'll think "That's George from the 80's." Both are great players. Jon is a better fit for playing the popular Dokken songs like they originally sound.

  28. Y.... N....

who is playing guitar on this album?

    Y.... N....

    EL GEORGE

    Y.... N....

    John Levin

    Y.... N....

    Definitely Jon Levin

    Y.... N....

@TOM GREGORICH that sounds nothing like George Lynch

  29. T.... S....

this music ma ma makes me happy
    ,.

  30. j.... t....

Another great Album by Don Dokken and the guys of Dokken !!

  31. A.... S....

Thanks for shareing,it's a great album

  32. Z.... R....

    sounds like bonds

  33. Z.... R....

I guess that's me forgive me

  34. E.... T....

Someone please upload the bonus making of DVD

  35. E.... T....

I like this, like the Long Way Home album, it's a bit more mellow, low-energy, and beautifully gloomy. The 2 are the most underrated perhaps, because of this. Lots of people dislike the 2 because these reasons. But I like it. Art.

    E.... T....

Personally, I have to be in a certain mood to listen to this album, if I'm not in the mood I can't get into it but if I am I can listen to it 100 times in a row without it getting tiring.

  36. j.... ....

my 2nd favorite dokken album. lightning strikes again is my Fav. then way back home

    j.... ....

    "Long Way Home"

  37. Z.... A....

Someone please write the line up of this record!awesome album,i hadn't heard it.

    Z.... A....

    SAME LINEUP FROM DAY ONE

    Z.... A....

Pretty sure the line up is John Levin(Guitar), Don Dokken(Vocals), Jimmy Degrasso (Drums), Sean Mcnabb (Bass). I could be wrong, I'm just saying it from memory.

  38. R.... R....

another great dokken album. I guess i missed a few.

  39. P.... ....

    Heavy Hard Hot

  40. S.... S....

the song Today sounds like an old hippie song from the early 70's

    S.... S....

It's a Jefferson Airplane tune off their Surrealistic Pillow album.

    S.... S....

Because it is a COVER of "old hippie song from the early 70's"

  41. S.... S....

this is not the Dokken I know , this album isn't that good to be honest . I need to get back to the old albums TOOTH AND NAIL this album is lacking that hard edge

    S.... S....

You're missing out, 90s Dokken and the albums before this are great too. Check out the album Dysfunctional

    S.... S....

another age dude... I agree with with but just Deal with it..

    S.... S....

The band has been around for almost 60 years and you still expect them to sound the same? And I think what you meant to say was the album is good but it's just not your cup of tea, you shouldn't say something well made is bad just because it isn't your style.

  42. j.... ....

love this album. Dons best lyrics!

  43. S.... D....

This sounds like Don Dokken's first solo album. I liked that album too. Thank you for posting this

    S.... D....

Scott Destan Don Dokken's first solo album (if your talking about "Up from the Ashes") was a sonic masterpiece! Every song on it was a musical jem.
Im sorry, but this one does not even come close to that. To me it sounds like they are making Dysfunctional over and over and over & I cant figure out why they want so much mellow stuff. I wouldnt ask u to tell me why either. The only thing that sounds like vintage Dokken here is the intro to "Fade Away" and thats it. I dont care what the paid critics say either. I am my own critic.

    S.... D....

Also can be compared to 2002 release Long Way Home, which apparently was suppose to be a solo album, in the manner the Dysfunctional was. Up from the Ashes is great, solo Don and post-George Dokken are highly underappreciated. There's also Don's acoustic solo album Solitary, which is great, but unfortunately it's extremely rare now because it was only sold at shows, but you can find it on YouTube, worth a listen

    S.... D....

Mr. Romeo and that song (Fade Away) is basically "Stop Fighting Love" re-done, although not very well...at...all

    S.... D....

    AMEN 2 THAT!!!

    S.... D....

@Marc Mann When you've made hundreds of songs over a period of nearly 60 years it's pretty easy to coincidentally make a repeat song.

  44. M.... G....

I'm extremely critical of bands, after their initial impact, and lineup, dissolves. And, they spend years trying to make a "comeback', but if I heard this growing up, it would be a classic favorite. And, I'm saying this at 45yrs old!

    M.... G....

Feels weird, my mom is only 37 LOL

    M.... G....

    You, really, love,to,use, comma's,i think, you, should,use,less

  45. P.... P....

Awesome these guys are still around

    P.... P....

Don got sick few yrs back..throat cancer? I do remember something about that..whos that guitarist?Sounds like G Lynch but then again they didnt reunite until 2016

    P.... P....

@Carolyn Sallinger its Reb Beach or John Norum.

    P.... P....

@Carolyn The guitar player on this album is Jon Levin. He's been Don's main guitarist for a good few years. A lawyer by day, rockstar by night.

    P.... P....

    @Ross Moriarty Wow.

    P.... P....

Reb featured on and Co-wrote the 'Erase The Slate' album, also the Dokken live show DVD 'Live From The Sun' of 1999.. Don't miss them mentioned, Reb's phenomenal🎸 Just clearing it up for ya, folks. Rokken With Dokken 2020 🤘🏻

  46. R.... C....

back in hit and run hot

  47. j.... g....

Dokken para mi es mi grupo favorito desde 1984 cuando escuche into the fire

    j.... g....

    i'm falling!!

    j.... g....

Some heads are gonna roll :D

    j.... g....

Es que dokken es extraordinario en su estilo a diferencia de treat o giant que son bandas del montón

  48. l.... ....

    Don ran outta money

    l.... ....

That's why EVH still tours. That's why we go to work each day. Silly comment, bro.

    l.... ....

    You never had any

    l.... ....

He actually still has a lot of cash, he invested properly and never spent it all on drugs. Cash is the least of his worries right now.

    l.... ....

He has a Canyon ranch and a slew of Corvettes. I know because I talked to him. Don is well off and more importantly, is happy & well....

    l.... ....

@Matt Horowitz As he should be.

  49. A.... ....

Dang I haven't heard Dokken in years. Great to hear they kick ass more than ever. And without George Lynch it appears........Great album!

    A.... ....

+AIRIKification Lynchie never comes back but Jeff... the guy could sing

    A.... ....

@lukemanify The original line up was a pretty lucky line up, I mean Mick, Jeff, and Don could all sing, how many bands have had 3 members out of 4 know how to sing.

  50. G.... G....

  54. S.... J....

    The Don is back!

    S.... J....

he's back alright....at the same donut stand as Axl.

    S.... J....

WEAK DON BUT STILL TOURING AMAZING

  55. l.... g....

good album but the drums suck

    l.... g....

At least its the only original part of the Dokken sound, it is still not too bad.

    l.... g....

I love how people compliment something but then right after like ungrateful they have to point out a stupid nitpick. The drums are fine. It's not what you're used to because Jimmy Degrasso plays on this album, great drummer, he played on Megadeth's album The World Needs a Hero. Great album too.

    l.... g....

Jimmy Degrasso was the drummer on the tour filling in for Mick Brown who was touring with Ted Nugent. But Brown did the studio.

    l.... g....

@Kevin Pfeifer well what I've heard is Mick Brown couldn't make it to Broken Bones sessions because scheduling conflicts and Jimmy played

    l.... g....

The drumming is solid on this. Don never works with slouches, that's for certain.

  56. P.... O....

Love this....Can anyone tell me who the guitar player is?

    P.... O....

+Parnell Orphy Jon Levin. He's been their guitarist since 2004

  57. Z.... B....

    Don sounds better

  58. J.... W....

awesome album from dokken. i think this was their last album in 2012, wow sounds like one of the old albums of metal from the 80's not a band thing at all, and don dokken is one kick ass frontman. what a fun album this is.

    J.... W....

Its to bad that Live his voice is so bad ! The Fallsetto vibratto he had is gone thats what was so distinctive about Dons voice . His song writing abilities are still sound as fuck . Awesome singer/song writer Heaven Scent is perfection from Back for the Attack !!!

    J.... W....

Heaven scent definitely smells good too.

    J.... W....

    hahahaha

    J.... W....

@DeadShred999 Well his voice has gotten better since doing this album, I mean while he was recording this he was fighting cancer and had just gotten the vocal surgery, this album was done when Don's voice was basically at the worst it would ever get.

    J.... W....

Yeah I noticed after Dokken Reunited and did the 6 Japan shows that he quit smoking and his voice was coming back . Never heard about any surgeries . My friend saw them about 3 or 4 yrs back at a 200 capacity Club in Houston and said his vocals were very bad . So quitting smoking and a proceder by a Dr. as you said has hopefully given him some range back . His voice with Lynches riffs were just so fucking good during the 80's my fav. band of that style from the 80's . Tooth & Nail is a regular rotation in my player and the rest of their records from the 80's as well .

  59. W.... M....

thank you THANK YOU...THANK YOU AMBER! YESSSSS!!!!!
