See, THIS makes me so happy. It really does. Because while I _CAN'T_ back the comments and the attitude of the group over the George W. Bush comments (especially Natalie Maine's DEFIANT wish to not try and build bridges again) . . . I CAN say that the media reaction and the bans and the blacklisting was one of the most embarrassingly offensive reactions to free speech in our modern history. I'm old enough to have seen their movie _Shut up and Sing,_ so I know full-well how poorly their tour sold after their media fallout. They were practically BANNED from the American South. And now look at them—rocking a PACKED stadium again. This just really makes me happy. Because they're a great group—they really are. She's a wonderful singer, they've got some really great songs.

I'll never be a fan of their comments about the President, but I'll ALWAYS be a fan of their songs and their talent. So to see them just OWNING that stage again to a packed stadium full of cowboys and gals is just magic to me. Congratulations on this. You deserve it. "Taking the Long Way" is right.
