Divinyls - Old Radios Lyrics

Move that Dial to and through On my old radio
I gotta move that dial to and thro on my old radio

Search that blank noise between
For the Music that God forseen
I'm going to search the blank noise
Between the music that god forseen

Stop Fighting, Stop fighting

Hunting down the Media Chiefs for a bit of light relief
...
Stop fighting, stop fighting

Move that dial up and down
Turn that room upside down
I'm going to move that dial up and down
Move that room upside down

Stop fighting
Stop fighting

Got to Get up [x8]

Oh, Shut uup [x3]

Hey Mum Got to Get up
I Hate Mum? Got to Get up
[x2]

Move it!
Hey Mum, I got to get up

I got to get up

Move that Dial to and through On my old radio
I gotta move that dial to and thro on my old radio

Search that blank noise between
For the Music that God forseen
I'm going to search the blank noise
Between the music that god forseen

Pretty fantastic. Amazing rocker, Chrissy has left an amazing legacy as a rock and roll singer. She certainly was great at her job

  2. N.... S....

Exactly how I sound in the morning.. especially the "aaaah shut up". Loved this song first time I heard it all those decades ago. I have all their albums. Chrissy...such a legend. Rock In Peace, chic♥️

  3. T.... N....

Why has this song been removed from the album?

    T.... N....

@lesgl She never mentioned anything in her book about it. If anything they had a falling out with original producer Mark Opitz, but his songs remain on the current version. Of course the Aussie version had no choice but to include the newer songs, as we'd already heard some of the others on the previous Australian release of "Desperate".

@Warren552011 Fair enough...hopefully one day it will come out on CD..i was lucky enough to get a mint copy of the lp 10 odd years ago and have the cassette as well

    T.... N....

@lesgl Good luck with that. In the meantime we can still all at least watch these great videos. I actually rarely take mine out of the covers now, because I'm always on YouTube.

    T.... N....

@Warren552011 Yes a Youtube Downloader certainly comes in handy..

    T.... N....

@lesgl Ooooh yeah. I've got one of those, but I like reading the comments.

    What a voice

I touch myself is a hit song but their older stuffs are way better and more rock and roll, that blew me away. BTW Chrissy is my platonic love

@ Fokker TISM   You know I was just thinking. Just as some of the songs from Aus version of "Desperate" ended up on the American version of "What a Life"  It's a wonder some of these didn't end up on say, an American version of "Temperamental"

@ Warren552011........You're quite right of course, one can only wear a school uniform/tunic for so long. (And of course it would look absurd as she aged). It just bothers me that so many people seem to believe that "I Touch Myself" was the be all and end all of The Divinyls, when nothing could be further from the truth.

  8. W.... ....

@ Linda Jones. Actually Linda it was Chrissy's decision to go glam. She said "Getting rid of the tunic was a no brainer. I was older, we were a new band, with a new  record and under new management. The old incarnation of Divinyls was over and we were moving on for better or worse" She also once said the old persona was restricting her interpretation of the new material. I also preferred the old stage act but I guess you can't be a schoolgirl forever. Imagine how ridiculous she would have looked if she made a return in 2007 in a school uniform. I love her from go to whoa, but I do get a little nostalgic for the early days

"I Touch Myself" is very overrated if you know the early Divinyls. Just because it made the charts doesn't make it better than their superb early work.

  10. D.... ....

I Touch Myself is not overrated at all. lol Its a classic of theirs.

  11. L.... J....

Yep, this is the Divinyls in all their crazy glory. Loved them, loved Chrissy's stage persona and can't understand why they chose to pretty her up for "I touch Myself". Nope, this is the real deal. RIP Chrissy.

  12. F.... T....

These old songs from What a Life that weren't put on the murkan version (stupid seppos) are WAY better than I Touch Myself. Overrated feminist bullcrap that song is.

  13. J.... ....

very nice visuals ... thank you
