Diana Ross - To Be Loved Lyrics

Someone to care,
Someone to share,
Lonely hours
And moments of despair,

To be loved, to be loved!
Oh, what a feeling,
To be loved!

Someone to kiss,
Someone to miss,
When you're away
To hear from each day.

To be loved, to be loved!
Oh, what a feeling,
To be loved!

Some wish to be a king or a queen,
Some wish for fortune and fame,
But to be truly, truly, truly loved
Is more than all of these things!

Someone to kiss,
Someone to miss,
When you're away
To hear from each day.

To be loved, to be loved
Oh, what a feeling,
To be loved

I have no idea why all these haters are complaining about Miss Ross' delivery of this song. She did a good job here. Of course, her voice has matured through the years. Who in the heck can still sound the same in their sixties as they did way back while in their twenties? Apparently there are some folks who seem to think that the laws of gravity should not apply to singers, which is fucked up and stupid. At least, Diana Ross still sounds recognizable & if anything, she sings w/ more feeling

Legend is right ! Beautiful song and the one and only Diana Ross sounds magnificant !
The collection of photos are amazing and thank you so much for posting this !

  11. R.... ....

    Major major MAJOR STAR!!!

  12. B.... ....

Wow.. Thanks for the Shout out @ 0:41 ...LOL where did you find that card??
That was a Birthday card I SENT to Ms. Ross

  13. B.... ....

Diana Ross and Mary Wilson are music legends currently they only make music that they want to its all about what they like. They are not geared towards the younger generation as much as they are geared to people from of their own generation. These great and beautiful women are not trying to compete with those young people who are on the charts today.

If a top hit comes out of it great, but thats not what they are about today its silly to think otherwise.. Beautiful!

  14. P.... ....

yurherenow aka yimheretoday no one is really worried about Diana Ross as the way as your are LOL FYI She 95% of the way, has retired and she is loving her wonderful rich life!! And that burns you up because you are a meaningless little hater lol

  15. s.... ....

She looks Gorgeous! And her voice sound thick and brassy like a jazz singer I like this, Great Post!

  16. P.... ....

I'm sure she figured you would buy it- yurherenow AKA Yimhertoday and you know you did LOL You love Diana Ross so bad it controls your life... I think that is so funny!

  17. t.... ....

i don't KNOW her personally. maybe one day. THIS is what i do KNOW: LOVE her PASSION and her declaration NEVER to settle for the 'C'. bringing her 'A' game at ALL TIMES. been an INSPIRATION to me for soo many years. LOVE HER--I DO!

  18. m.... ....

of course- the original! Jackie Wilson.

  19. s.... ....

When I first listened to this CD I was surprised how much her voice had changed. That high pitched nasal tone was gone and had been replaced by a fuller, huskier voice. Now I listen to this CD more than her previous recordings. I've come to appreciate the new voice. It 's like visiting with an old friend that you haven't seen for a while. At first you are shocked that they don't look the same, but once you start talking, it's as if they had never left. Ross remains enchanting as ever!

  20. T.... ....

Oh yes. I remember that scene. Is from an old movie with Eddie of the 80's or 90's (don't remember exaclty). He's a prince from Africa going to usa to find a girl for him.

  21. T.... ....

Thank you so much! Jackie's version was the one I was searching for. Really a touching song. Usually I'm not into this genre, but when is beautiful is beautiful, doesn't metter the genre :) Thanks again!

  22. T.... ....

Has ever been sung this song by a male singer?

  23. R.... ....

she is singing this song full robust vocal here ! beautiful images... great post!

  24. M.... B....

Miss Ross still got it, i like her version of this song.......

  25. R.... H....

    Still some spark there.

  26. m.... ....

    okay...

the production on this is kinda ordinary...not terrible, just nothing special.

But DIANA???? Listen to her belt this damn song out!!!! She tears into it like it's her last meal.

For some reason, when I hear this, "Only You" and "I Will" on I LOVE YOU, I get this very wistful, nostalgic feeling...

  27. m.... ....

dude, really...you and that oceanbound person have some kinda personal drag-queen vendetta against Diana. If you don't like a song, fine. But you two are on this mission to cyber-destroy Diana Ross. It's actually a bit disturbing.

  28. m.... ....

I'm no huge Diana Ross fan by any Merritt. But she has always been a beautiful artist who represents love songs. She has a great fan base - Black White Straight gay young old rich and poor.
yimheretoday If she was not a huge success you would not be blogging about her.

  29. m.... ....

but without yimheretoday Diana Ross how would you ever learn how to be a woman? There would be no one for you to punk about ! ... LOL

  30. M.... ....

It is very difficult for veteran artists to receive top 40 airplay these days, as you may have noticed. The two formats that should welcome Diana are Adult Contemporary and Adult R&B. My personal favorites align with yours -- "To Be Loved" and "What About Love." "Lovely Day" is outstanding

  31. P.... ....

Wow, sounds like the young lady hit a nerve.., LOL ...You are pretty sad dude... You don't have to like it but many people do-- the lady is right. and yes Diana is great at 83 years young-- hope you live that long.

  32. s.... ....

yimheretoday,Diana Ross is a talent lady I love this song its a great meaning full song--- and you need testosterone you fagot! LOL

  33. P.... ....

Well lets talk about who its NOT suppose to appeal to—Some 30 year old Nobody who with little or no musical knowledge and feels the needs to insult older women. The song and the artistry appeals to a lot of people you dont matter youre an Internet coward who has nothing better to do!

  34. D.... R....

Diana Ross sings this really well, she is the best.

  35. M.... ....

Dee530, thank you so very much... For your support and your beautiful words. This montage and thee corresponding song was also a labor of love for me. I agree with you TO BE LOVED"—is JACKIE WILSON, his voice and the sentiment was extremely special. And yes Ms. Ross did a find job on this one!

  36. D.... L....

Wonderful, the photos are really Beautiful,
and Ms. Ross does a fine job on Her Version
of "TO BE LOVED". For me, "TO BE LOVED"-- is
all about JACKIE WILSON, and even though he
is Gone for twenty five years now, His Voice,
is the only voice I hear, in Mr. Gordy's most
    Gorgeous Song about LOVE!!!
I hear that a Broadway Show is being worked on
that will tell the Motown Story- Cool, I
Wonder if Jackie will even be mentioned in
the show?? There has NEVER even been a
    Tribute to JW-NICE

  37. M.... ....

I agree with you ... I feel the same way about this clip... and thank you for commenting

  38. M.... ....

Thank you for commenting, Diana Ross has some of the best fans!

  39. b.... s....

    lovely...thks for posting.

  40. R.... H....

I love this song because it was Ross' homage to Berry Gordy, who wrote it and used it for the title of his autobiography.

  41. s.... ....

    OMG Beautiful!!!
