Diana Ross - The Feeling That We Have Lyrics
Put your arms around me child
Like when you bumped your shin
Then you'll know I love you now
As I loved you then
And I'll need you
And you're not there
You know I may get mad
And turn away
But you know that I still care
But you cannot ask for more
Than can come from me
I am older than you are
And one day you'll see
If I lose my patience with you
And I suddenly start to scream
It's only because I just want you to be
Everything that I see in my dreams
And I'd like to know it's there
The feeling that we have
When you know that you can come
Running to me
Whenever times are bad
Don't lose the feeling that we have
Don't lose the feeling that we have
Though you are growing older now
And I'm watching you grow
I know I make you sad sometimes
And I see your feeling show
But one day I'll look around
And you will be grown
You'll be out in the world
Such a pretty girl
You'll be on your own
And I'd like to know it's there
The feeling that we have
Knowing that you can come to me
Whenever you are sad
And I'd like to know it's there
The feeling that we have
Don't lose the feeling that we have
Don't lose the feeling that we have
Don't lose the feeling that we have

Great Song, Thanks to Quincy and Dilla for making 2 Great Tracks!!!!
The Intro to this song is🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. I can just imagine if it we're just a instrumental. Baby boom for real.
Everything - J Dilla sample 0:08 - 0:21
that's m life just to ask....why?
Feelin', Feelin'
Swear to God, this is more than I can deal with
Thinkin' back on that old song
Where did I go wrong by caring and sharing?
Mean, together no matter I can't stand not knowing
Is this what feeling gets a hope for happy endings?
Alone and scared something I don't want to be
What did he see when he looked inside of me?
If this is just a dream
How come I feel like screaming?
This is the real world
Gotta do what you must, girl
Well, can I, can I?
Is this what feeling gets?
So is there a happy ending?
There's nothing here but the fear of, will I try?
And can I stare it in the eye not ever knowing why?
Please, please can someone tell me why?
Is this supposed to be the equivalent of "Wonder Wonder Why" from the 1984 revival of the original show? If so, that would kind of make sense! (Just guessing)
You're correct ! Its right after Dorothy has been summoned by THE WIZ to kill the Wicked Witch and she's contemplating. Check out the video I made of "Wonder Wonder Why" with Diana Ross singing it: https://youtu.be/VVrFfy8CtNQ
Like others on here, this has always been my favorite song on the soundtrack. Ms. Ross is a talented actress, in addition to being a legendary recording star. This song is acted, and she does it just perfectly.
That intro is amazing.
The only Oz adaptation that shows oz had hotels. Where does Dorothy sleep when she gets tired? The books and movies never say.
YOUR gift....!!
The video - Beautifully done. This song took me back to when I realized how this movie was so far ahead of its time. The soundtrack alone is another masterpiece of Quincy Jones best work. Before I bought the remastered version. I knew my favorite song was "Emerald City Sequence" . But after I listen to it (way too much LOL) I kept coming back to this track. So glad that I'm not alone in wishing they had added all of the song to the movie/play. So glad they kept it on the soundtrack so fans could hear what Quincy created in its entirety! Thank you for posting.
This is my favorite soundtrack of the movie
j dilla

It's funny because I've always loved the transition between them seeing the Wiz and the seeing the hotel, because I always loved the music. I'm so glad I was able to find a video that had that score to the hotel shot because I love the intro to this video, because of the music.
Same! That’s One Of My Favorite Parts For Some Reason

Dang, this "edition" made so much sense to me! Kinda chokes me up. Thank you for posting.
Definitely one of the best songs on this soundtrack. Brings me to tears every time I hear it.
We have to dance to this in my dance recital we were a beautiful purple and black costume
Even though I know why this wasn't included in the film, I still wish it had made it in. Glad it's available to be heard, though.
ShreadTheWeapon it was in the movie.
i remember this scene when The Wiz came on HBO in the 70s. its not in the VHS or DVD version.
@Aaron Martin the scene is in, the song isn't
In the film we only hear the instrumental during this scene. I wish Diana performed it, but I'm glad it's at least on the soundtrack
the many time,s i feel like her.....you have no idea...

+theanimatedgirl@@#$%# I had a great time creating it for your enjoyment. Thank you for the compliment. I love this song so much. Its a very emotional tune that definitely pulls at the heartstrings and Miss Ross sings it so beautifully too. Thanks again for posting! :)
