Diana Ross - Sorry Doesn't Always Make It Right Lyrics
No one ever loved you more
And you're all I'm living for
Now I'm screaming silently
It's so hard to believe
You're not in love with me
Baby there's no easy way to hear the words
I'm sorry I don't love you
You tried to leave me once before
But felt so bad you let me love you more
Baby there's no gentle way
No tender sentimental way
To leave me
You offered me your sympathy
But I'm as lonely as can be
No one ever loved you so
While you were trying to go
I guess I didn't know
Baby there's no easy way to hear the words
I'm sorry I don't love you
You hurt me then apologized
You better go before i lose my pride
Baby there's no gentle way
No tender sentimental way
To leave me
I wish that I could make you care
But all in love just isn't fair
But sorry doesn't always make it right
Now it's time for you to leave
It's so hard to believe
You're not in love with me

Diana Ross Sorry Doesn't Always Make It Right Comments
Well produced tune reminds me of early "country" Olivia. Very fine guitar playing and love the harmonica, but the sax solo seems out of place in this countryish blues song.
No where as heart rending as Gladys's version. I thought her voice didn't mesh with the song.
Diana miss Ross to you is simply irresistible on this.this lady is an incredible vocalist
I am dedicating this song to Giles McManus. He broke my heart, and hurt me to the core, but I have risen above the hurt and is pressing on. 🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂.cheers mates!
Lovely song! It’s emotionally and tears at the heart strings. So, so sad!🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂. Cheers mates.
Didn't know she did this.
She made it burn.
The whole band and the guitar contributed to flame.
Love the version by Gladys Knight
Not a great performance when compared with Gladys Knight's version. Simply,,,, Diana does NOT have the ideal voice for this.
Gladys Knight does a better version of this song
no one can rip your heart out like MISS ROSS she sings....this song!
Nothing like Gladys Knight version!!!
I was hooked on Glays' version but this is amazing too. Had this tune in my head for months, faint, blurry just out of focus. Couldn't name it. Until I recently stumbled over it a few weeks ago... thank you for sharing.
I think I like Gladys version better, but this one is good too,
No one can explain to me why this song wasn't a mega hit. Stirring, super, stupendous!
I agree Bill 100%, million seller should of been
Absolutely, William!
I love this😍
Her voice sounds great on this song. She was serving us a little country and I love it.Definitely one of her most underrated songs.
Great vocals; I love Diana's phrasing on" Sorry doesn't Always make it right " I cowrote this with Micheal Masser and think that Diana sings every song like She wrote it and that is why she is incomparable!!!
Love this awesome song!@@!
Thank you for this song. Is there a back story?
wow , you star . Absolutly love this although feeling a little melancholy right now . Thanks for s great song
@Jeff boothman You did read the comments of the writer of this song. DIANA=Incomparable.
Bravo! Great song Pamela. Other versions have surfaced over the years, including a very nice demo with Miss Ross repeating the final you're not in love with me a 2nd time .Was this inspired by early":country" Olivia? She was hugely popular at this time
No it Doesn't
RIP Michael Masser who co-wrote this song.
Tammy Wynette should have recorded this!
Diana recorded a couple of songs that tells me she was a fan or curious of Tammy's phrasing) God bless!
@Don Hawkins diane was not thinking about no damn Tammy's phrasing. she's singing a song that her producer said would be right for her.
@whatigot2say Your attitude will bite some day !
@Don Hawkins there's nothing wrong with stating the truth. If you think for one minute that diane gave a flying ....%@@# about Tammy W's phrasing then you don't know diane very well.. Tammy is not in the same league as Diane as a singer or an artist. Streisand maybe but Tammy W. not way in hell.
Agreed Tammy did not reach stardom as quickly or was she as talented as Diane--
I was and am a fan of both! Tammy has passed, yet she left timeless hits, 22 reaching # one, plus 2 # ones on the pop charts in the UK and around the world---calm down & God bless you!
smokie Tammy who?????
This song was originally released in 1975 while Diana Ross was finishing her movie Mahogany. This was a 45 rpm single on the A side and Together on the B side another great song, both included on the 1978 Ross album.
rfuentes1956 I've been loving this song for the past 40 years
@Victor Talking Machine boohoo what's your problem with Diana singing a country song???? I love this song, reminds me of my childhood and my mum's vinyl collection. <3
My eyes tear up when I think of all my lost loves.
I want every one to know how you hurt
me
What do you mean by your words please ?
This song brings back happy memories from a time gone by, yet it lives in my heart always.
LOVE, IT WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS OBSOLETE, BRINGS BAK GREAT MEMORIES...
Gladys Knight also sang this song; both did this in a country music; suprisingly, both pull this song off very well; once again both prove they can sing anything and it will come out great
I looooooove this one
Gorgeous track which, unfortunately, totally missed the Hot 100 upon its initial release back in 1974. Diana rebounded strongly though with the follow up, the number one "Theme From Mahogany".
Love Miss Ross vocals here.
