Diana Ross - I Won't Last A Day Without You Lyrics
Day after day I must face a world of strangers
Where I don't belong,
I'm not that strong
It's nice to know that there's someone I can turn to
Who will always care
When there's no getting over that rainbow
When my small list of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day without you
So many times when the city seems to be
Without a friendly face,
A lonely place
It's nice to know that you'll be there if I need you
It's all worth while
When there's no getting over that rainbow
When my small list of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day without you
Touch me and I end up singing
Troubles seem to up and disappear
You touch me with the love you're bringin'
I can't really lose when you're near
When you're near my love
If all my friends have forgotten all their promisses
They're not unkind,
Just hard to find
One look at you and I know that
I could learn to live without the rest
I found the best
When there's no getting over that rainbow
When my small list of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day without you
When there's no getting over that rainbow
When my small list of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day...

Diana Ross I Won't Last A Day Without You Comments
Don't you just miss the times that inspired music such as this? The world seemed a bit more civil, more kinder than times of today.
Back in those days people looked up as they went about in public. In today's society everyone is looking down at a screen. A victim of cyberspace. And THIS is the grand creation of a new future in a modern society? Touted by the the politically elite so to say? I truly fear for the future of the younger ones. For shame Washington D. C.
The only thing worse than you is a car salesman or a Pedophile. Oh well, I still have my vinyl and my CDs. Even a few 8 tracks! LOL!! My personal prescription when my soul needs to heal.
This version was released as the B-side of the album's title track, but was a Top 10 hit (#8) the following year for The Carpenters.
I know, I wish Motown had issued it as the follow-up single and not the B-side! This is such a hit!
Oh Geri, 42 years later and I still miss you. I cannot listen to Diana Ross without thinking of you.
I don't like the arrangement...doesn't capture the warm, tender feeling the song evokes.
You said it best. The Carpenter's version is the benchmark.
nothing beats Maureen McGovern's version
Very good rendition.
Beautiful Ms.Ross!
