Denver, John - Windsong Lyrics

The wind is the whisper of our mother the earth. The wind is the hand of our father the sky.
The wind watches over our struggles and pleasures.
The wind is the goddess who first learned to fly.

The wind is the bearer of bad and good tidings, the weaver of darkness, the bringer of dawn.
The wind gives the rain, then builds us a rainbow, the wind is the singer who sang the first song.

The wind is a twister of anger and warming, the wind brings the fragrance of freshly mown hay.
The wind is a racer, a wild stallion running and the sweet taste of love on a slow summer's day.

The wind knows the songs of cities and canyons, the thunder of mountains, the roar of the sea.
The wind is the taker and giver of mornings, the wind is the symbol of all that is free.

So welcome the wind and the wisdom she offers, follow her summons when she calls again.
In your heart and your spirit, let the breezes surround you.
Lift up your voice then and sing with the wind.

John was an extraordinary talent and a man way ahead of his time. He was among the first to champion the environment and was taken from us far too soon.  That he can still touch the lives of people 20+ years after his untimely passing is a testament to his talent and vision.

  81. m.... G....

    Great song

  82. G.... A....

None of us perfect, we just expect too much out of the people that entertain us. I think he was a great man and great talent to have died so young. Miss not hearing something new from him. Great photos to go with a great song. Favorite tune of his is, "Starwood and Aspen."

    G.... A....

I agree 100%. People only remember the one bad, not the many good. Above all he was human, but he tried to make this earth better and that is more then a lot of people can say. I try and live by his example.

    G.... A....

    amen.....

  83. J.... H....

This song and the pictures shown with it are breathtakingly beautiful . I will always be a John Denver fan as no one could ever express their love of life as well as he did. May he live forever in our hearts and may he rest in peace.  Thank you for creating this video with song for John. He would say "Far out"  He had a great sense of humor too! Thanks again.

I have sentiments for my brother I hurt him bad and couldn't control my feelings instead of him so he is disappointed in me and my actions I punched him now he can't be what he dreams is perfect. I'm sorry Al.

It's never too late, maybe start by being truthful. Family forgive more than anyone, but don't like deception. NO BODY of people will ever give you the benefit of doubt, but if you still prove to be an absolute walker against your families wishes, I think you will have to wave goodbye!!! It's life. Deal with it!

  86. S.... ....

Beautifully sung by John !! Nice video ! Thanks for sharing !!

  87. w.... ....

The world is certainly a poorer place without him....beautiful music.

  88. M.... B....

I looked this up today because it's windy here (and usually isn't!)... and I had to hear John singing this beautiful tribute to the Wind... Your video imagery is perfect. Thank you!!

  89. K.... R....

I've always loved the wind as a child and it's so magnificent than the one and only JD would create a song about it ...magical ~♡His love of Mother Earth and the animals was a profound spirituality. .. and I loved him even more when I read he was a vegetarian " for the animals " ( You can't love some but eat others ) .... I honor his sentiments by becoming a vegan for the animals and the environment ~♡

  90. J.... T....

Great job!  Your photos and the timing with this incredible man's lyric are superb.

Oh, how I miss this man; miss what beautiful music could have been had he lived longer; miss his message of peace and his love of our planet.  An inspiration to all of us to think a little more about our surroundings and our impact on nature and others.  He was a treasure.  This is a lovely tribute.  Well done.

  93. D.... W....

This, like the rest of his music, is beyond beautiful. I cry every time I think of what happened to him and the fact that such a wonderful human being is gone when he helped so many who needed it.
God bless and keep you John, if anyone deserves a place beside God it is you. You were one person I would have truly been honored to have known in person. Your music came to me at a young age and shaped how I am today, (and I didn't even know at the time that you were also a military brat like me.) I hope the good works you fostered will carry on through others because this world needs people like you.
