Deep Purple - Watching The Sky Lyrics

I sit here alone
I sit here alone
I look at the walls
Look at the walls
Look at the walls
I look at the walls

You shouldn't be out on your own
Oh no not with a condition like that
Oh no sir constant care
A condition like that, a condition so rare
A penny for the guy, a penny for your thoughts
One a penny, two a penny in your pocket
Ding dong bell, who can tell
Wild Man Fisher got nothing on me

I sit by the water
I sit by the water
Watch it go by
Clouds going by
I'm watching the sky

I left my luggage at the station
Didn't know how to say goodbye
I walked away from all the fury
And the madness and the fury
And the madness and the fury
And the madness

I smile to myself
I smile to myself

You're on the blind side, I'm on the other side
Now I'm on the outside looking for another side
Upside down side, I'm still lucid
I may be crazy but I'm not stupid
Try to get out, the parking lot's full
No matter, no matter, what's a man going to do
One two buckle my shoe
Zip my lip

Eran Finkle for a couple seconds , and it makes me wonder.......

    Martsapso21

So every song that goes Am, C, D is Stairway To Heaven? I'm afraid I got some bad news for you buddy...

  8. Dimitar Dimitrov

ABandOn - great rock album, the band really is on.

What do you mean by " Hardcore fans of the old style "? .steve Morse play what they say him to play, and he plays all the "oldie's ". no use of musical analyses. Deep Purple was not a disco Band.

  11. flykeys

they are evolved with staff changes, and this is good for the band (but not for hardcore fans of the "old" style) . I'd say they won from Steve Morse commitment, he brought some fresh ideas and music became more dynamic and diverse - to dissatisfaction of Blackmore fans.

  12. flykeys

Love that song. Steve Morse really shines in it.

  13. musicorion93

When i listen to this song, especially the "calm parts", i always feel like i'm relaxing lying in the clouds or swimming under the ocean...best band ever.

  14. micanut48

I love Steve Morse (have many of his albums) but I still miss straight forward style of Blackmoore. While I listen to their (DP) later projects here, I just don't buy them anymore. The last one I bought was Perpendicular. I might be called inflexible but to me, DP is the original lineup, and since that is not possible anymore, I kinda look for music to buy elsewhere. Not trying to be dismissive. I think its more being nostalgic than anyything else.

  15. Nineth Lion

Man, this reminds me so much of Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin, though I prefer this band by far to be honest.

  16. xerxes450

some have to understand ,Deep Purple is not the same since 1974 .............

How is Abandon? I know only this one and "Any Fool Kno That", and they are both great groovin' crossover stuff... if the rest of the album is as good I'm gonna buy it...

  20. Shridhar G S

Pure magic from 1:52 to 2:50

  21. 88mpny

Yea I agree abandon is a great album and I also liked purpendicular as well. hard to imagine them without richie but steve does hold his own with the great acoustic parts as well as blistering solo's. love the eerie acoustic part in this song.

  22. Max Maxwell

Steve Morse isn't bad, but I prefer Blackmore.

  23. Max Maxwell

You can tell Jon Lord primarily wrote this, with the rocking chords and then the definitely orchestral influence.
