Deep Purple - I'm So Glad Lyrics
I'm so glad
I'm so glad
I'm glad, I'm glad, I'm glad
I'm so glad
I'm so glad
Don't know what to do
Don't know what to do
Don't know what I'm gonna do
Another week in
Telephoning
Tired of groaning for you
I'm so glad
I'm so glad
I'm so glad
I'm so glad
I'm glad, I'm glad, I'm glad

Deep Purple I'm So Glad Comments
Even happier than Pharrel Williams' song.
When I first heard there was a band called Deep Purple thought
they might be any good. They're total bastards like you wouldn't believe..
Whack this shit down on Wilshire. Pissing on Stonehenge.
This is it
This song saved Skip James' life. He needed surgery but had no money until Cream's royalties allowed him to get the operation.
Eric Clapton, also bought Skip a house ......
GREAT!!! Super Beautiful!!!

@Content thank you! Some good stealing done there!
I love heavy metal, punk , but I also dig 70s Tripp rock......patrick
This is nearly as bad as Vanilla Fudge's murderous rendition of You Keep Me Hanging On by the Supremes!
awesome, such a story about me behind this, I'm so glad I wasn't there
Glad that's a weird word
I say that both Cream’s and the Deep Purple’s versions are both badass in their own ways.
Fantastic Song.
“What we do now echoes in eternity.”
Love the Spanish guitar. Cool song, was also on their album Best of Deep Purple on the Sceptor label. That was full of great songs.
I like the original blues version, I like the Cream version, but I absolutely love the Deep Purple version. The blues one is like a shack by the Mississippi, down to earth and charming. The Cream version is like a factory in the English midlands, rugged and manly. The Deep Purple one is like a Gothic Church, majestic!
You just had to mention Cream.
@UseLess Lass The version Cream performed at their farewell concert in 1968 really kicks asses
Purple was and is Purple. Cream was and is Cream. Fudge was and is Fudge. All great. I'm So Glad that they all were and are. What a soundtrack!
I like it better than Cream's version.
Musica stupenda,in Italia c era finché la barca va Orietta berti
I like very much, música of the memory, remember is to live again.
EVANS WAS SUCH A GREAT SINGER. UNDERRATED!!!!!
I think so as well. It's too bad people don't bring him up often enough, he's my favorite Deep Purple singer.
Muke gile lagu gue waktu kecil nih.
In this cover Lord, Paice and Blackmore display their incomparable talent. This was when they are trying to emulate The Vanilla Fudge which, of course, they were superior to as well as also superior to Cream.
Grande álbum de estréia dos gênios do Deep Purple....Jon Lord fantástico...que Deus o Tenha....o Perucão do Blackmore tá de morte....
Kudos to Skip James. He wrote "I'm so glad".
Thank God someone decided to upload a Deep Purple song other than In A Gadda da Vida.
TheTeacher1020 doesn't iron butterfly do inna-gada- davida? Deep purple just covers it.
Wow! It is actually a rock version of Rimski-Kórsakov's "Scheherezade". Love it.
Also would be played as Gargamel song in "The Smurfs" cartoon.
Scheherezade (Rimski-Kórsakov) brings me here..
Scheherezade (Rimski-Kórsakov)
im so glad too, the beast song have never ear in my live. remembrar the ace of secundary school
im so glad too, the beast song have never ear in my live. remembrar the ace of secundary school
Wonderful song !!! Im so glad..long live the rock roll !!
Its a band. Not children named after Crayon's
Read or heard somewhere that Deep Purple named the band that as an answer to the band named Vanilla Fudge. Has any one heard this I'll have to look this up
Haven't heard that...but probably true Deep Purple said they were very influenced by Vanilla Fudge...
Ritchie Blackmore named the band after one of his grandmas favorite songs.
"Deep Purple" by Nino Tempo & April Stevens
estoy contento
Most people think of Deep Purple as a 70s band....this album came out in 1968.....my brother got it when it came out and I inherited it......awesome album.
Deep Purple never really got going till 1970 when they released In Rock.
Did you know that Deep Purple once toured with Cream as a support band.
They got kicked off the tour because they were blowing Cream offstage!
True story.
Well, go figure. Cream took it's name after a body fluid. I guess clapton ( named after a venereal disease) thought the world was stupid. My only regret in his life was the loss of his son, in a tragic accidental fall.
The whole album released in 1968 was their best. They really started to degenerate in the 70s
I liked this album best then machine head...then come taste the band with Tommy Bolin.
very good
Glad glad glad glad glad....
Nick Simper on Bass is brilliant in this song . Such a great musician I was sorry to hear when he finished with Purple he was the greatest and still is.
Did they forget to add the "K" to the likes?
+ToothlessWizard One of the best covers ever!!!!
This version of I'm so glad makes me sing out loud...
+AleGibsonSG NO
@RevoltorAdapt Yes indeed, if you don't trust me,check online ...
@Alex Green Best place to check is the album cover.
+Charles Norris I meant the Cream version man
There was no screaming during the Cream version of this tune.
gran rola me fascina mucho rock
Sweet but reminds me too much of early Yes. Cream's more direct approach from Fresh Cream just nails it for me especially Jack's Bruce's vocal intensity after Eric's solo. In any case it's too bad but too good we have to go back so far to find the passion.
Ah, no , sorry. Wanted to like this but just don't. Cream's live version from their goodbye concert at the Royal Albert Hall is still the best version in my mind.
+NJcruiser Not really; Listen again.
Shut up idiot.
I like actually like both versions. "I',m so glad" they covered it.
Damn they are phenomenally great.
Codziennie - Deep Purple - Dzisiaj - "I'm So Glad"
Sorry!!! to za wczorajszy dzień>>>>>>>>>>****
На нем были два инструментала и четыре чужие композиции: Hey Joe, битловская Help, Hush Джо Саута и старая песня Скипа Джеймса I'm So Glad.
I'm very pleased to know that Russian people are so well educated on English music. And your taste is impeccable.
You know your music. I salute you
I'm so glad it's Friday!
@MegaJetJaguar I agree.... 4/10/2015
Simply wonderful!
Better arrangement than Cream's version and Lord and Blackmore make it superior.
I completely agree. This is the definitive version of the song. The musicality of DP, comparatively, at this point in their respective carriers was far superior.
Don't you think that's a little too dramatic, Shorty? Go listen to the songs you do like.
It's similar to one of Cream's unreleased versions.

Fresh Cream is from 1966 dude, blues with psychedelic. This is late.
blackmore is so much better than clapton. Clapton aint even the best eric.
True Deep Purple!
Cream 'n Deep Purple <3
+Charles Norris Please stop fanboying and stating your opinion as a true fact
Sadly for you, this is an opinion based area of conversation. Or as Winston Churchill spoke... "If you can't stand the heat, Get out of the kitchen."
Charles but I dont care your opinion in my comment. Sorry for that. this is MY comment :) :) :)
+Charles Norris sorry but you're in MY COMENT if you want to free coment you've the public coment :D so please stop coment here and leave my opinion: CREAM AND DEEP PURPLE ;) bye!
fantastic old times....
Love Deep Purple n Cream...but this vers is shit!
I like Cream's version better. Nice solo by Mr.Blackmore anyway!
beginning of the song sounds like something off of the legend of Zelda. so badass
GLORY TO LORD. JON LORD.
Skip James, 1931.
Skip James, 1931.
Im so glad I'm GLAD im glad. Yeah, yeah yeah !!!!!!!
actually Cream got it from Skip James. but that's ok, it's all good.. i havent heard a bad version of this song yet.
INTERESTING VERSION OF THE BRITISH BAND ,CREAM'S SONG
It's a cover of Skip James's song "I'm So Glad".
fuking cool
Stop that
Theme by rimsky korsakov
This legendary song is so stylish and awesome
skip james
No my friend, its song was write by Skip James
no my friend, c est Deep Purple, et du meilleur.
I'M SO GLAD to go back to my souvenirs 40 years ago...
Sure; got his album "Skip James Today!" I love his original version, but that doesn't mean I can't love DP and Cream's versions of this song as well. He mostly sang in a falsetto; main instrument was guitar but he also played piano. None of the other Delta blues musicians sounded quite like him.
RIP Jon Lord. Superb keyboard playing.
This version > Cream's version
DP, especially old DP is... music with character. Like old, expensive wine.
RIP Jon Lord.
I pirated their stuff before I pirated Deep Purple's stuff, yeah.
I like this version better.
remember Art Sizemore and George A. Little?
or this? -
v=QPXjuD8sH_Q
Does anyone of you remember SKIP JAMES?
toute ma jeunesse....
Thx !!!
@Blackmetal9000 That's an organ, not a keyboard.
But yeah, it's really damn good. :D
greatest Rock Band of all time
I"M SO GLAD this song was uploaded! GLAD, GLAD, GLAD, GLAD, GLAD!!!! HAPPY, HAPPY, JOY, JOY, JOY.....I'M GETTING MY HEADPHONES NOW. BYE.
mindblowing solo by blackmore in the middle......
@TheFreshPeddler hahaha, ok
@martin2sax Sigh...I realized I had that story backwards about a week ago while I was reading a ten year-old copy of guitar world. Was hoping no one would catch my mistake on here. haha I think It was actually Clapton's roadie gave it to one of Blackmore's roadies...or maybe directly to Blackmore. At any rate, I had the story backwards. Good eye my friend.
@drockkclapton i thought it was clapton who gave the first stratocaster to blackmore
i saw deep purple do songs from thier 1st album live at the forum in LA , as they opened up for the CREAM , awesome . now i cant remember if the cream let them do this one for it was their perogative to do this one . does anyone remember ? love the intro too ....
Cream dumped Deep Purple for outdoing them is the way it ended............. Same as Iron Butterfly dumped Chicago Transit Authority for embarrassing them at the Garden State's Arts Center. And we all know where Iron Butterfly went, and the massive success of Chicago
Alternative news? Cream and Deep Purple got along very well according to Clapton.
I have the song in mp3 I hear this song in 1968 or 69 ( I had only 13 or 14) now 56 ufffffff many years ago

DAMN does this song bring back FANTASTIC memories!!!!!! I would go to this place to dance in Miami, Florida (it was called, "The Place") and I would dance my ass off. I can still close my eyes and visualize how fantastic this felt!! Hell, I didn't even NEED a partner. Just feelin' goooooooooooooooooood---me and the music! Thank you for uploading this song!
