Decemberists, The - The Abduction Of Margaret Lyrics

And all the while whispering arbors
Provide cover

What previous witnessed ardor
Of our lovers

Our heroine here falls prey to
Her abductor

All a gallop with Margaret slung rude
Cross withers

Having clamped her innocent fingers
In fetters

This villain must calculate crossing
The wild river

Decemberists, The The Abduction Of Margaret Comments
  1. T.... C....

My teacher showed the class this album in my freshman year

  2. T.... ....

@33slasher He doesn't eat them after, such a waste.

  3. O.... ....

Does it matter? Life doesn't hand out happy endings left and right either. Besides, what's happier than achieving true life?

  4. W.... a....

Have the Decemberists EVER made an album with a happy ending?

  5. I.... ....

    @CeisasM Which one?

  6. P.... ....

@kerriberry118 You realize this song is about a pregnant woman getting kidnapped by a rapist/murder, right? And that's cute? Hmph.

  7. J.... ....

@Tweek2050 the song "rakes song" is messed up he kills his children

  8. Z.... ....

Probably one of the best albums I've EVER listened to.

  9. D.... B....

@Tweek2050 read "Under Milk Wood" the album is based losely around the book, but you'll understand the entire album's storyline better if you do. Really good book.

  10. R.... E....

i think "cute" is an acceptable adjective..these stories are not to be taken so literally and seriously. Humor is supposed to be derived at least at one point or another.. so cute is ok with me. This adjective doesn't negate INSANE talent!!!

  11. T.... M....

Mate, you've obviously never listened to the Tain.

  12. K.... B....

i love this song! their music is so cuteee!

  13. I.... ....

    Boo bloody hoo.

I think they sound amazing in this album. Don't like it, that's fine. However, you are not the final judge on all things musical.

Bonnie 'Prince' Billy's "May It Always Be" is a good example. No trees to be found. (He uses 'armor' instead.)
