David Cassidy - I'll Meet You Halfway Lyrics

Will there come a day you and I can say
We can finally see each other?
Will there come a time we can find the time
To reach out for one another?

We've been travelin' in circles such a long, long time
Tryin' to say hello, hello!
And we can just let it ride, but you're someone that I'd
Like to get to know

I'll meet you halfway, that's better than no way
There must be some way to get it together
And if there's some way, I know that some day
We just might work it out forever

Will there come a day (Will there come a day)
You and I can say (You and I can say)
We can finally see each other?
Will there come a time (Will there come a time)
We can find the time (We can find the time)
To reach out for one another?

I'll meet you halfway, that's better than no way
I'll meet you halfway, that's better than no way

David Cassidy I'll Meet You Halfway Comments
  1. M.... M....

Addiction is something that one is walked by him or herself. It is not an easy path and it is a struggle. We all have our own path to deal with and for some it is easy and others while they struggle with the realities of life is very hard. David was a very good musician and song writer. He had a talent that was great. No one is perfect. We all have demons to work with and some more than others. Addictions is a real struggle in life and it is not an easy path. He was human being that gave us a gift some survived our own demons in life with his music. Which some saved my life just to hear it. Reality is a bitch at times.
Just remember that he gave what he could and dealt with life along the way. Life is but a moment in time and may we all just remember the music and songs that he gave us and not dwell on the demons that he had to deal with.
If he was trying to deal with the addiction and he admitted to them. This is a man that at least knew what he was dealing with, and tried. No one knows what addiction is like or depression is like if you judge him for his mistakes and not let it go. For both are real and at times can be very very hard to deal with.
So let us Remember his Music and songs that he gave us. A great man. Thank you god for letting us know a little about him through his music. God bless you.

Gary Richards you are right on point. Those who are not addicts or have a addiction can't begin to know what you go through day in and day out. See, I'm a addict and it came about due to "A perfect storm"...See I was going through a divorce while battling a serious health issue which caused a deep depression. I went to a Dr. and he prescribed a pain killer. So when I was depressed about the divorce, my illness and add the narcotic it was over before I knew it. All the sudden my divorce was ok, I wasn't depressed or in pain due to the meds...so I soon found myself taking the meds to kill all that was wrong. So before you know it, you can be addicted and it's he'll afterwards. So to those who say it's a choice, in ALOT of cases it's not, it truly just happened. So those ignorant uneducated folks just make the addiction of the individual 100x more powerful because the person is embarrassed and ashamed to seek help thinking they are scum. So when you are a star or become one overnite at a young age it's that easy to find yourself in pure he'll. If you would like to talk and learn more get intouch with me @ [email protected] and let's talk...I would like to be a support system for anyone in need. I'm a 3x cancer survivor, 12 blood clots and losing my left leg...so I just want to help you. God bless all.

  19. L.... P....

His nose changed... he never had a bump in his nose. Noses continue to grow but forming a bump when there wasn't one...I don't understand.
Still, no matter, he was always beautiful.

You can still purchase it on eBay right here: It was in Glasgow, Scotland in 2002 and one of his best concerts ever: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F382532757781

Thank you for showing this video. For far, far too long I have been financially impoverished. Didn't even have a computer until the last year or so. Seeing David perform wasn't even something I could think about. What a treat it is to see him in such mesmerizing form. I will say that what I finally did manage to do was see his final L.A. performance, and I loved every single moment of seeing him, still worth waiting for despite the challenges his illness presented. RIP David

  22. C.... E....

Do you think he thought about his dad when he sang this song

  26. M.... H....

David was such a great performer, His backup singers and band were AWESOME!

  27. M.... P....

His voice didn't sound like when he was on the Partridge Family. As Keith, his voice would've changed years before, so his singing voice as Keith should've been his forever voice.Usually boys are 13 when their voices change.

  28. B.... M....

    What a star ⭐️

  29. o.... ....

This is the first video I've seen where David is wearing a wedding ring....

  30. T.... D....

  31. T.... D....

Love u David. Always will. X

  32. M.... P....

I totally agree with you Gary down below

  33. D.... M....

What a guy!! David will be a legend, like Elvis, Ricky Nelson, Marilyn Monroe, Annette Funicello, Sandra Dee, Bill Bixby, Bert Reynolds, Robin Williams, and my list could go on and on. I had you picture on my wall, when I was young, David. You were special, we girls could sense it. You were so dreamy and seemed the perfect boyfriend. So sweet, sensitive and the perfect gentleman. Shirley would not have allowed you to be nothing less. Ah, the many fantacies I had about you. We girls did not want to even picture your problems with being overwhelmed with fame. Just know we really loved you back then, and still do. I feel sorry for you that you had to turn to drinking to fight your demons. May you be at peace now. See you in Heaven, David.

  34. L.... M....

I loved that guy since I was a little kid. I used to turn around my Partridge Family metal lunchbox and just stare at him😚. The guy had a beautiful voice to match his beautiful face. Rip David.

  35. P.... M....

  50. G.... R....

To all that either condemn or can't grasp why David died from an addiction, this comment is for you. Very few people can comprehend what it is like to be what he was in his prime. David's fan club was larger than the Beatles and Elvis combined. His prime years were spent working 16 hours a day, touring, recording and trying to hide. David's dad also had addiction issues, for those that are educated, they will understand what that means. When David's dad died in a house fire, this decimated David to the core of his being. I can go on and on. Try to implore critical thinking when wondering why the following died so young. Elvis, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, David Cassidy, Dennis Wilson, Jimmy Hendrix, and dozens of others. David actually lived longer than most other Musical legends as he was not into drugs and tried many times to beat his addiction. So, the critical question is: Why do so many musical legends that burn their way deep into our hearts die so young? The only way to know the answer to that is to be one of them. Imagine every member of the public wanting to jump on you when you step outside, or the absolute euphoria of tens of thousands of people screaming while you perform and you have to keep satisfying them at a pace so intense that your body cannot keep up with it. Imagine losing ALL privacy, then mix in a heaping portion of human frailty and the incredible temptations that come into play 24/7. Finally, imagine asking yourself whether or not someone can love you for WHO you are and not WHAT you are. That is just the tip of the iceberg. David's last words before he passed were, "So much wasted time." Now you have some food for thought. Many legends that gave up everything to make it to the pinnacle of their profession often learn that the true joys of life were right there in front of them when they were just like you and me.

    G.... R....

    Very well said

    G.... R....

You took the words right out of my mouth

    G.... R....

I know what it is like to suffer addiction, I have lost many friends due to one addiction or another, weather it be a work addiction, or one of the other many out there. it was not until I got to 30, did I begin to realise what people with addiction goes through,

    G.... R....

@K-Cup Coffee Karaoke 🎤 Fast Food Review one point in time his fan club and popularity exceeded that of the Beatles and Elvis...circa '70-71

  51. C.... O....

Amazing! Is it any wonder that he was "love at first sight" for so many of us?

  52. W.... D....

Can anyone tell me where this was and what year please xx

    W.... D....

Chloe Ann thank you Chloe Anne x i love America, I have visited there a few times xx
I know we could talk all day as to why David relapsed, and lied about his drinking, most addicts do lie about it, at least he admitted to that, as for the ex when rhey married she was Shrifin - Cassidy, now he's passed she's Sue Cassidy ????
Whats that all about, most people go back to their maiden name when they divorce, would love to see her questioned on it.
I sew there was a benefit concert for him raising money for retired race horse's, wonder if it was filmed, i saw on a post on here about it , his band done it, wonder how they would have worked the singing out , how emotional that must have been xx
What part of America are you from xx

    W.... D....

Wasn't the benefit concert organized by his last GF? I live in San Diego, CA, where my husband works, and we have a house in Austin, TX where we raised the kids and plan to retire in (our son and his family live in Dallas). We visited London, Stratford-Upon-Avon, and Oxford, where my husband lived for 3 months while studying back in the mid 70s (he travelled all over on weekends). Our kids loved London, especially our daughter, who now lives in Boston. Both our kids watched reruns of The Partridge Family when they were growing up :) :) :) Where in England do you live? One of my favorite bands is from there, One Direction, who are "on hiatus" and I love Harry Styles and Niall Horan who were in it.

    W.... D....

Another video of this concert said it was 2002.

    W.... D....

It was 2002. I have the actual DVD of this concert and I saw him in 2001, 2002, 2003..........I saw him with that same shirt on. I LOVE DAVID CASSIDY!

    W.... D....

Dale Foti can you still buy this video?

  53. W.... D....

On saturday it will be 8 months since this beautiful man left us , I still can't believe he's gone xx
I still keep crying and watching this video has really upset me , he seemed in such a good place here ,so happy and he sounded amazing, someone in his life has a lot to answer to for not making him realise that he had so much to live for and not helping him quit drink. He will forever be in my heart and i miss him so much xx
RIP my sweet beautiful man xx

  54. G.... C....

What a geat song indeed. David hope you are now in a place where you can rest in peace. 👏👏👏

  56. C.... W....

Love the part at 2.00,he laughed when he sang "reach out and touch you' . He knew only too well what effect those words would have on his adoring fans in the audience, that's why you can hear them all cheering,he was really enjoying getting that reaction from them. There will never be another like David ,loved it when he ruled the world with his music, talent, voice, looks, the total beautiful package! Rest peacefully sweet man.

    C.... W....

Carol Walker you took the words right out of my mouth!

    C.... W....

Yeah, David and Elvis were both such beautiful men, great entertainers that just were naturally very sexy and knew the effect they had on their fans lol.

    C.... W....

    @Jamil Gotcher yes!!!!

    C.... W....

So true. He was in that rare club with Elvis, Michael and a handful of others who could absolutely commsnd and love an audience. I miss him.

  57. 1.... ....

He flicked those red panties back out to the audience!  LOL

  58. C.... H....

Such a multi talented entertainer, a natural with a phenomenal voice and stage presence. Top of his game here. Talent and charisma like that can't be taught - a true legend! RIP David❤❤❤

    C.... H....

True talent, all the way through his short life...

  59. r.... j....

Before he drank himself to death...sad

    r.... j....

easy to judge someone when you have no idea what he struggled with, walk in someone's shoes before you call them weak

    r.... j....

I think alcoholism is a very difficult disease to beat, and everyone he loved gave up on him, which unfortunately happens to those who live with an alcoholic. His relationship with his wife and son had gone down the drain (he talks about it in the Piers Morgan interview), most likely his brothers couldn't take it any longer, and his last girlfriend also left, so he was alone. His band was basically his family. If this would be horrible for anyone, imagine for someone as sensitive as him... he then found solace in alcohol, it helped make him numb to the emptiness (he says that in "The Last Session"). This is what I think he meant by "so much wasted time": his family could have used the time they were estranged from him better, and he could have used the time that he spent drinking taking care of himself instead, but it was already too late, his health was beyond repair! At least at the end they all came to be with him and he didn't die alone! So so incredibly sad!

    r.... j....

123Rockchild You didn't know him. He NEVER got over the mental and physical abuse by his own father, the one person in his life that he needed and wanted love from the most. Don't ever judge David! You don't know how sensitive and kind he was. I DO. And he was a very strong man, as well.

    r.... j....

    you knew him...yeah right

    r.... j....

randy johnson Yes, I did. I know quite a few. My ex brother-in-law is a musician.
