David Bowie - I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday Lyrics

My love wherever you are
Whatever you are, don't lose faith
I know it's gonna happen someday to you
Please wait
Please wait
Wait, don't lose faith
You say that the day never arrives
And it's never seemed so far away
But I know it's gonna happen someday to you

Please wait
Please wait
Wait, don't lose faith
Please wait
Please wait
Please, don't lose faith
Don't lose faith

You say that the day never arrives
And it seems so far away
But I know it's gonna happen someday
Someday to you
To you
Please wait

  1. J.... F....

    Magistral versão...

  2. A.... R....

Non famosissima come molte altre del Duca,ma semplicemente meravigliosa, fra le sue interpretazioni migliori!

  3. V.... N....

What a horrible version! Sin to my ears!!

  4. T.... C....

    King doing commoner's song.

  5. F.... V....

    Que bosta.

  6. p.... ....

See ya soon Dave. Then many years later we will be joined by Morrissey. You two can easily sort out your gripe and we will all have a beer!!! Brilliant cover btw!!

  7. S.... L....

There's someone I've wanted my whole life that I didn't even know I wanted and now it's too late

  8. N.... ....

    wonderful! thank you so much!!

  9. B.... S....

Bowie is great but imo this version is poor and doesn’t do the song justice like the morrissey original!

  10. m.... ....

Morrisey dreams of being able to sing this spectacularly.

  11. A.... A....

    يا رب تغير العالم

  12. D.... G....

    Please, wait

  13. R.... N....

Luv the Lennon-esque opening sound production... Bowie looks superbly handsome... great cover even if the boys were fighting...

  14. A.... A....

    اللهم اشفني

  15. Z.... C....

Mick Ronson produced Your Arsenal, the Morrissey album the song is from a year before this. It lifts "Rock n' roll suicide". Ronson told Morrissey to not worry about copyright issues, as he wrote the chords for that song.

    Z.... C....

That is nonsense. Ronson did not "write the chords" for Rock'n Roll Suicide.

    Z.... C....

Perhaps the outro of the song? Came across that somewhere, maybe in Morrissey's autobiography.

  16. E.... B....

    Please wait...

  17. N.... C....

o his voice still gives me chills. Beautiful voice and beautiful song...love the lighter

  18. P.... C....

“It’s me singing Morrissey singing me” is what I remember Bowie saying in an interview when he covered this

  19. G.... F....

    😣😭😭😭😭😖

  20. J.... S....

    R.I.P Good Sir...."Peace"

  21. p.... ....

    Bowieoke ...

  22. D.... T....

My brother recorded an entire album in the very same studio where the song, 'Drive-In Saturday', was recorded (RCA studios, NYC), and one of Tina Turner's backup singers appears on the record. 19 years later, he is introduced to Bowie at another NYC recording studio (The Hit Factory), while David was working on the 'Black Tie, White Noise' album. Mick Ronson was still alive, but dying of liver cancer, at the time. Where's my brother now? Still alive, but fighting liver cancer.

  23. 7.... ....

What a great piece! Just grows and grows to a terrific finale! Thank you David and RIP.

  24. G.... P....

    È bellissimo il brano e ....... lui!♥️🔥💋

  25. 7.... ....

As we say in OZ an absolute ripper!!!

  26. C.... ....

2:11 that guitar solo OMG! It’s amazing

  27. S.... G....

My Angel. You are always in my heart. You are missed so deeply. Ilove you. X X

  28. D.... V....

Is it just me or is he totally taking the piss out of Morrissey? The lighter is beyond arch. Epic guitar solo in any case. One of my fave post-Berlin Bowie tracks.

    D.... V....

I agree with you, definitely a pisstake, lol.

  29. C.... B....

I really cried on this one

  30. D.... ....

IMO sounds better with Ronson's guitar.

  31. R.... D....

    Holy.......

  32. R.... N....

One of the rarer latter day Bowie vocals where he's at the top of his range throughout the track... pulls this off amazingly well, no doubt, but I wish he had started a key or two lower, then shifting to this upper key to bring it home...

  33. C.... C....

    Makes me cry every time.

  34. R.... N....

Love this gorgeous performance video of the Morrissey cover... This track is not only an amazing vocal performance but an equally stunningly sweet reunion with Ziggy guitarist, the great Mick Ronson... Bowie & Morrissey had an estranged relationship, it has been said... Still you can hear the respect given to the Smiths' frontman

  35. N.... L....

    i'm sorry....so sorry...beyond description

  36. F.... H....

Being covered by this man was a tiny bit stressy. One must always have wondered how much better he would bring your song than you could ever do it yourself :-)

  37. a.... j....

    ❤ .....

  38. H.... I....

Wow. What a magnificent voice. I can see why he picked this moz song. Class.

  39. R.... N....

Luv him this handsome!!! Only he & Presley were this handsome... great faces! Billy Idol too...

  40. T.... W....

Morrissey wrote this as a piss take on Rock and Roll Suicide but Bowie decided he liked it so much he recorded it and thus made the parody redundant ,,better luck next time steve hunny...

  41. O.... T....

Very different style of cover, but still tremendous

  42. A.... R....

    Oh meu deus! Apaixonante!

  43. A.... J....

The irony of Bowie doing this Morrissey song is that the song Morrissey co-wrote with Mark Nevin is clearly influenced by Bowie's own "Rock and Roll Suicide", the closing song on the "Ziggy Stardust..." album.

    A.... J....

Al Just Al Since Mick Ronson wrote the music for Rock 'n' Roll Suicide and also produced and arranged Morrissey's Your Arsenal it makes sense

    A.... J....

@Esther Locatelli Mivk Ronson did not write the music

  44. B.... A....

Probably the greatest song ever and yes, the best version. Love you , David

  45. S.... S....

    Ugh my two icons

  46. I.... I....

The lighter was a nice touch 😋

  47. A.... D....

There are not that many quality singers anymore.

  48. W.... H....

I like how David does the part from 0:50-0:55 and starts laughing at himself :)

  49. 1.... ....

Listening to this, I can't help but sense the influence of "Maybe This Time" from the musical Cabaret.

  50. A.... D....

I love the soul that this man puts into everything he does.

  51. A.... F....

DEAR GOD GIVE US BACK DAVID BOWIE AND WILL GIVE U SEAN COMBS !!!!

  52. T.... D....

    DAAAAAAAMN.😋

  53. A.... D....

Idk he happens to have best voice of anyone i know. Famouswise.

  54. r.... f....

    caráio

  55. A.... F....

One of the greatest singers of all time, but.....a really bad cover imo!

  56. J.... C....

I just miss him so fucking much

  57. A.... D....

I'm sorry you had to end up singing instead of doing what you wanted to do, but you have been such an angel to us. You help me all the time and you're not even alive anymore. You're my friend and I think your music is trying to tell me something. You said this planet is for the kids and I'm one of the kids. Though I'm 42 years old, I was in high school when you said that to Arsenio. Anyway, your music guides me and you have been an angel. Your music never gets old and still applies to us. Even though the songs are old, the facts in them are not. I applaud everything you've done and helped us with. I consider you my friend and I love you. You're so special to us and you've shown us that we should never give up on our dreams or anything. Way to go. I'm proud of you. After 6 decades, you deserve to rest. Rest fellow Capricorn. I will always listen to your music and try to provide what I can to people. I've already made tons of contributions in my life, but there's never enough as long as you're alive and feel like giving.

  58. E.... B....

I miss you David. Nobody like you

  59. B.... B....

Very VERY Lennon-esque (yeah I know its a M song)

  60. S.... P....

He is a musical miracle.A wonderful voice and wonderful songs like this.Thank you Mr.Jones for your being! You miss so much❤

    S.... P....

    Errata corrige
    I miss you so much!

  61. D.... D....

    Anyone else still cry? 😔🤚🏻

    D.... D....

    Deena Dunderdale yes I do

  62. A.... D....

Love the guitar solo! Amazing song, I don't care if it was Morrisseys or not, he KILLED IT! But yeah, it's a great song, and a great uplifter!

  63. M.... T....

And who is playing the heartbreaking guitar? The luminous Mick Ronson. ❤

  64. A.... D....

A lot of people think Morrissey is better...what the hell? I know it's his song, but if you're gonna have song that pretty, you better be prepared to sing the crap out of it! Omg Bowie has an orgasmic voice how can you beat that? And even if you could, could you beat the feeling that he put into it? You could but come on, you'd have to actually try. He has a good voice and eveything, but I vote BOO in this case. Bowie is better and I'm not just saying that because I'm a fan, I got feeling out of his, and not Morrisseys.

  65. F.... J....

    fabulous song

  66. A.... W....

This video always makes me laugh. It seems like a massive piss-take to me, not to mention one of Bowie's campest, most diva-ish moments. Fun times.

  67. J.... P....

As ever, the complete artist. Unique. And what a great guitar solo. Ronno would have approved.

  68. J.... B....

    Classic

  69. k.... r....

Always prefered that more epic version (and, such a voice...!)

  70. A.... Z....

    lordly........

  71. J.... R....

I thought Mark Nevin wrote this song, not just Morrisey, and not Bowie or Ronson?

  72. d.... h....

Omg I love this so much

  73. b.... ....

    Nile Rogers on guitar-?

  74. o.... ....

Just as Morrissey murdered Drive in Saturday, David responds with this. Advantage Bowie.

    o.... ....

ohdear671 no, Rock N Roll Suicide and I Know it's gonna happen someday is an excellent Morrissey song, perhaps better than the song it inadvertently ripped off

  75. j.... f....

was bowie the most compete artist of his generation? I think so.

    j.... f....

Dunno about that, but he was the brightest star by far in the musical space. A genius beyond measure.

  76. j.... f....

god, he was at the top of his game when he did this. genius

  77. B.... S....

It almost sounds like a Young Americans outtake.

  78. T.... R....

Morrissey has a great reputation among his artistic peers - and every bit of it is earned. Can you imagine how it would feel, to have David freakin BOWIE covering one of YOUR songs?

    T.... R....

    Ted Roedel

He sang my song, "Clock Sex!"😀

    T.... R....

Bowie considered this song to be more or less his song because it's mostly the same construction as Bowie's own song Rock n'Roll Suicide from the Ziggy Stardust album. So, no credit is due in this case to Morrissey.

  79. j.... f....

this song slaughters me every time. god bless db

  80. F.... M....

te voy a amar hasta el día de mi último respiro, David! wherever you are, my heart is yours... I absolutely love you!

  81. S.... L....

Rest In Peace and wellfare... What a superior human being.

  82. L.... ....

I take it the lighter was for Mick Ronson? As he played the guitar on this. Ahh the wonderful Ronno!

  83. e.... ....

noah fence bowie but you really should have left this one to moz...but of course everyone copies you .... still love you

    e.... ....

    its a joke dumbass

  84. j.... f....

sometimes, when u dig deep into bowies barrel, u find the best fruit.

  85. J.... M....

    David's voice on this...Wow!

  86. 7.... ....

This is without a doubt Bowie's best / no discussion necessary!!

    7.... ....

70banksia yes his vocals are perfect

  87. P.... ....

Bowie covering Moz?!?! OMG I love it! never heard this version before today!

    P.... ....

November girl................A morrissey "original" song that was in fact written mostly by Mick Ronson based on Bowie's Rock n Roll suicide which Ronson suggested he wrote...and Bowie took credit for. That should clarify it a bit better :)

    P.... ....

@Johnnywhamo BUT there was no need for him to act like he himself wrote it, besides moz does the best job

    P.... ....

He didn't "act" like he wrote it, when you write music and produce an album sometimes your band member comes up with what ends up being a big part of the sound of that song. The artist still wrote the song. Now in this case who knows how much was written by whom but it was Bowie s albums at the end of the day and I'm sure if Bowie had of been asked he would have said, "actually Mick had a huge part in the that song" at the time though he wasn't as generous but he was young.

    P.... ....

    November girl !!!

DON'T talk about Mr Bowie like that!⛧

    P.... ....

    ember!! Moz ! Seriously LMFAO

  88. j.... f....

love it, love it. live version too.

  89. F.... Z....

In a world full of plasticity and fakers , David Bowie really was a genius artist.

    F.... Z....

    Yes, very true.

    F.... Z....

    Absolutely.

    As was Zappa.

  90. M.... K....

GOD, his voice in this song gives me the chills! Love, Love, Love it :) Also, love the guitar sound in this song :)

    M.... K....

It's more then that, luck: There's something supernatural about it. Five years after meeting Bowie, and hearing his version of this song, my brother found himself on stage at the second Clinton inaguaral, singing the blues.

    M.... K....

    Melissa Kelly

Mr Bowie is the reason life is wonderful!😙

    M.... K....

Correction, Melissa: The song that Bowie was working on, from the 'Black Tie, White Noise' album, when my brother was introduced to him was 'Pallas Athena', not this one (honest mistake; sorry about that). I also had a couple of very close friends who worked for Bowie back during the 80s (they were 'roadies'). 'Pallas Athena' only contains one line: "G-d's on top of it all." Also, at the time my brother met him, David had just gotten a new tattoo (which he showed to my brother). It was on his left ankle; a cattle's skull, and written around it in Japanese was the 'serenity prayer': "G-d grant me the grace to accept with serenity that which I cannot change; the courage to change what should be changed, and the wisdom to know the difference." Yes, Melissa: G-D!

    M.... K....

OMG, Melissa, like Bowie and Ronson, he's dying of liver cancer now. Would you like to hear a song he wrote? This is from 1970. He had just finished a short tour with Jimi Hendrix at the time when he wrote this song: From Buddy Miles' "Them Changes" album, and the song is-"I Still Love You, Anyway."

    M.... K....

My brother died this morning (3-11-2019). He died the same way as Bowie and Ronson. I saw him for the last time on Saturday (3-9). With me was my old friend, Jonathan. He worked for Prince during his 'Purple Rain' days. "The beautiful ones you always seem to lose."

  91. S.... ....

At Morissey's 2016 Manchester Gig Morissey said, "year of the reaper" he singled out Victoria Wood, Muhammad Ali, Caroline Aherne and Prince but with the conspicuous omission of David Bowie.

Nature has not made a man of Morissey yet.

    S.... ....

That's right he didn't make mention at all and that's because he's a very jealous and selfish person in my eyes.

    S.... ....

You both have it all wrong. Read Morrissey's book. They were quite fond of each other. I was at this very gig in Manchester - just because you don't mention someone - it doesn't mean you don't love them.

    S.... ....

Bolshevik TV you dont mention your biggest idol on a list of artists that died that year? How does that work? Also are we forgetting all the shitty things Moz said about Bowie later on and that a few years back Bowie refused to let him use a picture of them together he wanted to use for the cover of an album? Morrisey may have been talented at some point but hes a human shit stain and Bowie knew it

    S.... ....

Bowie wasn't his biggest idol. In his book he bangs on about the New York Dolls far more.

They had a petty and odd relationship and that's all there is too it. I'm over it.

  92. C.... C....

    David Bowie, Rock God!

  93. r.... ....

    class...fucking class R.I.P. x

  94. t.... ....

I miss David... but really... this is the worst version of the song I've ever heard. Anyhow, God Bless David... he had a couple good years from 70 to '74 ish. Anyway, who the fuck am I(BESIDES THE SUBJECT)?

    t.... ....

Even the least enraptured with Bowie would admit he had 10 world-changing years - not just a couple! Christ!

  95. K.... ....

The lighter must be for Mick.
