Dave Clark Five, The - Maze Of Love Lyrics
Take a look around, just look at your friends
And the people you think you know
If you wanna be honest and face the truth
Then there's not really much that you know
And you'll never ever call me on
You're stretchin' yourself but there's more to know
If you really want to go on
It's the maze, the maze of love
Maze, the maze of love
Maze of love!
Before you run you gotta learn to walk
Take a look at your friends, take a look at yourself
And find out what goes on inside
It's really easy, you trust your luck
And you face the truth as it comes
You can take the good with the bad
Then you're startin' to run
It's the maze, the maze of love
Maze, the maze of love
Too many people are running around
Still trying to find themselves
If they could only understand
It's the egg and not the shell
Stand too close to the mirror
And you won't even see yourself
It's the maze of love, maze of love, love, love, love
Maze of love!
Take a look around, just look at your friends
And the people you think you know
If you wanna be honest and face the truth
Then there's not really much that you know
You've known 'em for years just by their face
And you'll never ever call me on
You're stretchin' yourself 'cause there's more to know
If you really want to go on
It's the maze, the maze of love
Maze, the maze of love
Maze, the maze of love
Maze, the maze of love

Dave Clark Five, The Maze Of Love Comments
Goes to show how really huge the Beatles actually were. Everyone was trying to just keep up. This song reminds me of Pictures Of Matchstick Men by the Status Quo!
Always thought the Dave Clark 5 were the best of all the British groups, yes including the Beatles, but this psychedelic sound isn't how I'll remember them. And they had enough raw talent that they didn't need for try to sound like the Beatles.
I don't think by people saying it sounds like Sgt Pepper they are knocking it. Both great songs. Still sounds like SGT Pepper
Groovy Sgt. Pepper knock off here. Thanls for posting.
Maze of Love (single) is on the compilation called (Five By Five 1964-1969) paired with the album (If somebody Loves You) available on unauthorized DC5 CD'S. Should have been on the original album (Everybody Knows) released in late 1968. For unknown reason only b-side of (Red Balloon) released 9/68
Someone said that "Inside and Out" was the Five's only psychedelic-rock entry. This song begs to differ! I love it!
@pippandaeyes
its from an album called 5 x 5 containing 5 fast tracks on one side and 5 slow on the other. About 1970
cool track
@expatfreislander It still sounds like Sgt. Pepper. Sgt. Pepper also had chords, a drum pattern, a vocal melody, some words, a bass line, and a fuzz tone guitar.
at least here, lenny was given a chance to showcase the fact he was a very capable guitarist!
great upload been lookin for this!!
This was the very last DC5 track that got airplay in my little Canadian hometown. They played it in 1969 too.
Thanks for posting.
