Darin, Bobby - I'll Be Around Lyrics

I'll be around
No matter how you treat me now
I'll be around
From now on

Your latest love
Can never last and when it's past
I'll be around
When he's gone

Goodbye again
And if ya find a love like mine
Every now and then
Drop a line to say you're feelin' fine

When things go wrong
Perhaps you'll see you're meant for me
So I'll be around
When he's gone

    "I'll Be There"

    I'll be there
When all your dreams are broken
    To answer your unspoken prayers
When the little things you're doing
    Don't turn out right
    Don't you worry darling
    I'll be there

    I'll miss you
And in my dreams I'll kiss you
And wish you luck on your new affair
So baby if you need me
All you have to do is call me
    And don't you worry darling
    I'll be there

There whenever you need to know
That there is someone who cares
    So if your new love
    Isn't a true love
    Don't you worry darling
    I'll be there

    Ohh I'll be there
    Don't you worry darling
Cuz you know I'll be there
    Don't you worry...

This guy had so many brilliant talents, he was more than human. Robert Walden also had the humility to recognize when someone else could do a song better than him, like this one for Gerry Marsden and the Pacemakers. And passing on Danke Schoen and giving it to We Know Who!

  9. T.... S....

I came to this later, having always heard the version by Gerry and the Pacemakers. What a wonderful song. Great job, Bobby!

  17. J.... C....

I love Bobby. DatinI I am also a devoted E lvis fan and they both do lovely versions of this song It seems ironic that while Bobby. would have given anything to go on living and singing Elvis. was hellbent on destroying himself

  18. S.... M....

A lady's man forsure this is the kind of man Kim Kardashian should of married smart and handson and knows how to treat a lady ! A womans dream love we miss you Bobby !!

    Melodia sufletului meu!

  23. p.... m....

    Bobby Darin cantaba muy lindo.Gracias.

  24. E.... ....

Good song, but I think I prefer Elvis's version. It's got a little more hook to it.

    E.... ....

Gerry and The Pacemakers recorded the number one hit and greatest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98kdyfwg46U

  25. M.... V....

No hay como la musica antigua que fue .melodicamente y romantica

  26. T.... ....

This is my first time listening to this song. I listened to the Gerry & The Pacemakers version and it's also good, but I think Bobby's version is better because it has a nice beat to it.

    T.... ....

    Try the Elvis version

    T.... ....

    Nice song

  27. C.... L....

nice but not a patch on Elvis

  33. J.... ....

My favorite of all Darin songs.
Opened my teenage-heart to all that might come upon me in the future.
    And it worked well.

  34. i.... ....

never heard it till now, thanks

  35. I.... L....

    Beautiful Song. So Sad.

  36. l.... ....

His music has no time limits even my younger son listens to all his music. He was taken way too soon. A young man with so much talent, yet someone who wanted to make a difference in the world. You're missed Bobby even now. But so happy you were here even though in our hearts it was no long enough

  37. T.... S....

love this song, im discovering Bobby Darins true talent and its amazing me.

  38. B.... L....

How do I get rid of the Pimsleur ad?

  39. L.... o....

Have to admit the first time I heard this song, it was Gerry Marsden's version and I loved it.  I grew up in a Bobby Darin loving household, and when I found out it was Bobby's song I instantly listened to' it.  I find I love both versions, I actually saw Gerry sing it live in Brighton, England in the 70s but most unfortunately was too young to ever see Bobby Darin perform it live.  He died way too young.

  40. k.... ....

Gosh he's so handsome & his voice ! Ah!! I love it so much <3 he passed away so young :,(

  41. M.... R....

No se porque me gustan las canciones de esa época las encuentro que realmente son cantadas con el corazón. Y además me recuerdo cuando mi mamá las cantaba

  42. a.... ....

    Love you Sky

  43. M.... J....

This is one of my favorites. I was all of 12 when I first heard it and then a little older when Gerry and Pacemakers covered it later.

  44. H.... L....

    wonderful music

  45. 6.... ....

WOW!!! After 57 years of owning the record "Won't You Come Home Bill Bailey" and playing the B-side probably dozens of times during the summer of 1960, I'm just now realizing that this is the same song as the Gerry & The Pacemakers remake from nearly 5 years later. That's pretty incredible!!!

  46. L.... W....

he was gorgeous don't make men like that nowadays 😍😘😗

  47. J.... A....

so heart touching moves me to tears

  48. R.... N....

His voice is really sweet he is good looking loll

  49. A.... L....

    hermosa canción...

  50. D.... E....

    me encanta Bobby darin

  51. K.... W....

    great singer

  52. e.... a....

    SIEMPRE ESTARE ALLI BOBBY D.

  53. n.... ....

He might be the most complete pop performer of all time. Great singer (almost all genres), song writer (like this one), musician (multi instruments), fine actor (Oscar nom), VG comedic impressionist and the ultimate showman.

    n.... ....

Mr. Darin didn't have The Mob promoting him, and he wasn't doing favors in return for the mob, as several others had/did. In fact, he had the Mob working AGAINST him.

    n.... ....

    and a great dancer!

    n.... ....

    nobodyaskedbut

    He could dance too

  54. D.... W....

Super singer on a brilliant song. Sadly missed by true music lovers everywhere

  55. D.... S....

    awesome Bobby Darin

  56. P.... M....

I'll be there when all your dreams are broken
To answer  your unspoken prayer, oh....
When the little things you're doin', ooh, don't  turn out right
Don't you worry darlin' I'll be thereThere whenever you need to know that there is someone who  cares, oh yeah!
So if your new love isn't your true love
Don't you worry  darlin', I'll be thereThere whenever you need to know that there is someone who  cares, oh yeah!
So if your new love isn't your true love
Don't you worry  darlin', I'll be there
Don't you worry darlin', I'll be there
Don't you  worry darlin', I'll be there .......

  57. G.... V....

Great song by a great artist.peace GARYV.

  58. M.... ....

As much as I like Bobby Darin, Gerry Marsden's version of this tune is vastly superior!!!

    M.... ....

    Impossible.

    M.... ....

    It's possible.

    M.... ....

You can only equal the original. Bobby Darin had no equal when it came to passion. So my vote(although Gerry's voice made his whole band). To Bobby and his passion for pleasing and making people smile, wasn't caught up in anything but survival. He probably, never felt like the young man that he was should have. Man, what a talented young Man.

    M.... ....

    I listened,not even close,Bobbys is better.

    M.... ....

MrGoldenthorat I agree, the Gerry and the Pacemakers version is better IMO.

  59. M.... K....

This is a favorite of mine that Bobby Darin wrote and sings and also Elvis sang it too.

    M.... K....

Thank You I love this song it is my favorite too. Elvis and Bobby both sing it wonderfully.

    M.... K....

@Margie Kolby, are you kidding? Elvis? Gerry and the Pacemakers had the Number One hit with this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98kdyfwg46U

  60. j.... l....

This was the B side of Bobby's Top 20 record, "Won't You Come Home, Bill Bailey", a record I bought for the B side! (Although "Bill Bailey" was also a damn good record..) But "I'll Be There" I always found profoundly haunting.  Gerry and The Pacemakers made a hit out of it in 1965, but I  didn't think it came near Bobby's version. (It was written by Darin.)

    j.... l....

    Truer words were never spoken.

    j.... l....

Thank you for the B Side info. I'm 65 and didn't remember that.

    j.... l....

I only know Jerry & the Pacemakers recording. Did an excellent job of a superb written song. I think I heard Bobby say, he didn't read music. Makes me wonder who wrote melodies to his lyrics as here eg.

    j.... l....

Sometimes it's found, B sides produce a better song than the A side. Bill Bailey, not my style.

  61. W.... .....

    wow....just wow

  62. e.... ....

Bobby wrote this, I'm pretty sure.

    e.... ....

    You are correct.

  63. M.... C....

I love this beautiful song of Bobby's. Thank you for posting Carlos Iván.

    M.... C....

  67. F.... W....

Me inunda la dulce y sufrida nostalgia , arremolinado mi corazón maduro lleno de impetuosos recuerdos

  68. j.... w....

Tells you how good he was when brian epstein, the beatles and Gerry and the pacemakers ,heard Gerry sing this bobby darin song, and signed them right away, because Gerry did the song a lot of justice! brian became the manager of both great bands!

  69. j.... m....

What a great song this is. It should have been a  multi million seller . His best song with Dream Lover. A great voice and  went from this planet too early like Elvis, Roy the boy, Jim Reeves, Brooke Benton, and on it goes. These were the best years of  music when it changed to stereo. People nowadays don't realise that this is  where surround  sound  came from.

  70. E.... S....

Bobby Darin's self penned and recorded song "I'll Be There" is the best version.  His unique versatile multi-talents took Bobby along many varied paths in his life and  giving his fans the opportunity to see just what this young man was really all about.  If Bobby had made it through his recovery this world would have been a bigger oyster for him than it already was at the time.   Bobby's songs are timeless and I always experience great joy listening to them, even my young nine year old grand child loves listening to him, singing along.  Says something for music of the 50's, 60's and early 70's doesn't it. Fantastic era in time.   Best ever in the business.  Love Bobby's entire enormous body of work, man is a genius.  RIP Bobby !!!!!!

    E.... S....

I totally agree with every word you said.  His talent was unmistakeable and he is so sadly missed.  Such a wonderfully total entertainer.

    E.... S....

I totally agree with you. As much as I like the cover version by Gerry Marsden this is truly beautiful. He really was a talented great singer

  71. N.... M....

love this song . can play it over and over.
don't make them like this any more.
lose myself in Bobby when i'm doing the  ironing chore !

    N.... M....

Good woman Nellie, wish I could tell you i'll be there...Joe

    N.... M....

Nellie Mckie i know, same here

    N.... M....

Love it in the same way. Every morning I play two songs on YouTube. This one and Matt Monro's Walk Away/

  72. j.... w....

As a man I never comment on looks but it seems he might have started the british invasion, and this song is incredible!

  73. D.... R....

The last song played every night at The Cavern by the DJ to remind everyone it was 'going home time'

  74. g.... ....

I always loved the Gerry and the Pacemakers cover of this tune, and still do, but the moment I heard the original... that was IT!

Una gran leyenda del Rock´n and roll, Gran cantante y gran showman; se decia en aquel entonces que seria el sucesor de Frank Sinatra, pero lamentablemente nos abandono siendo muy joven+++Dios te bendiga Bobby+++

  82. C.... G....

    LINDO!

  83. A.... M....

Great singer i would say one of the all time greats.

  84. s.... ....

think what he would have done and sung if he didn't pass so quick, he know it, that time was short.. folks say, bobby, frankie, close in style. both had it. own style. both, top on charts. . both class in thier own way, i'm sure some time along the way, they would have done a duet togeather. look at the list of singers who did, did tony bennet ever do a duet with anyone, . , bobby, frank, dino, and the list go.s on.. . what more can you say. to each his own

  85. s.... ....

On this day in 1965 {January 12th} Gerry and the Pacemakers performed "I'll Be There" on the NBC-TV program 'Hullabaloo'...

aun pienso que debí nacer en los 50

  88. P.... A....

Me trae mucha nostalgia de mi juventud y me da pena.

  89. S.... A....

siempre lo recordare su voz maravillosa y recordare las discusiones que tenia con mi esposo porque siempre estuvo celoso de el, no entiendo ,lo encuentro absurdo, pero paso.....

  90. J.... ....

Okay, I must confess that I did not knew he sang the song, too. It's kind of "schmaltz" BUT not bad - For me personally, Elvis sang the song much better. ...

    J.... ....

    JerryBen

Bobby Darin was the composer of the song, not contesting your opinion, who's version you liked better, just saying this is the original.

    J.... ....

    Elvis è migliore

  91. s.... ....

On this day in 1960 {May 23rd} "Won't You Come Home Bill Bailey" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100; eventually it peaked at #19 and spent 11 weeks in the Top 100...
The B-side also charted, "I'll Be There", reached #79...

    Bobby Darin:
    A singer
    An Actor
    A politician
    An entertainer
    A philanthropist
    A songwriter
    A show runner
    A lover
    ------------------------------
    Any today's singers :
A blood package that keep running his mouth and say shit most of the time

  93. b.... ....

@DoctorScrumpy You hit the nail on the head.Bobby Darin could really sing from a beautiful ballard like this through Mack the Knife. You were so right when the girly voiced gits we are subjected to now fill the airwaves

  94. b.... ....

One of the best singers of all time.

  95. J.... L....

If you're a Bobby Darin fan, catch the bio film, "Beyond the Sea," staring Kevin Spacey. It does a beautiful job of telling his story.

  96. D.... W....

Bobby Darin made so many great tracks this must be up with one of his best. I can remember one particular D.J. at the cavern always use to finish with this thanks for posting

  97. g.... ....

The orignial radio version of this song was tons better than this seemingly rushed-through version he put out...it sounds like he can't wait to get away from the mike...his vocal and the song itself is truncated to the point that this video - sorry - wasn't worth listening to. Thanks just the same.

  98. N.... ....

For some reason this track has been speeded up from the master tape

  99. C.... ....

LOVE THIS !! THANKS FOR POSTING.
