Darin, Bobby - After You've Gone Lyrics

After you've gone and left me cryin'
After you've gone there's no denyin'
You'll feel blue
You'll feel sad
You'll miss the dearest love
You ever had

There'll come a time
Now don't forget it
There'll come a time
When you'll regret it
Someday when you grow lonely
Your heart'll break like mine
And you'll want me only
After you've gone
After you've gone away

After I'm gone after the break up
After I'm gone you're gonna wake up
You will find
You were blind
Not to let somebody
Turn around your mind

And after the years we've been together
The joy and tears
All kinds of weather
Someday blue and downhearted
You're gonna beg to be with me
Back where you started

After I'm gone
After I'm gone
After I have gone away

  61. M.... F....

you have have to sit down with a glass of red wine to enjoy this song by Bobby Darin

    M.... F....

    Amen, brother

  62. L.... B....

I want to 'see' him singing this. It's such a perfect arrangement. It builds from ballad to a punchy bump and grind classy number.

  63. e.... ....

    Sped it up to 1.25X

  64. A.... B....

That voice could melt the clothes off of a statue. Love Bobby Darin!

Wow, never heard this recording before. It's so heartfelt. I love this song and in the future, no matter how many recordings I'll hear of this great classic, from now on, this will always be my favorite. Bobby Darin really made it his own.

william L Robinson So true!! 'like this song and the way he sang this!! truly cool!!

  67. w.... ....

    Fantastic version.

  68. C.... R....

Darin could sing it all: Pop, rock, country, folk and swing, as he does here. Plus he could dance and act, winning a Golden Globe in his first film.

    C.... R....

    ...and play EVERY INSTRUMENT.

    C.... R....

@Glenn Leahey loved him on vibes, especially!!!

    C.... R....

My dig is named after him. Winner in Terrier Group 2011,12, 13.
    Byrselaw Bobby Darrin

    C.... R....

Hi Brian..Congratulations t your wonderful pal!! Cheers to you both..

  69. J.... L....

Fortunately, I had read years ago that Frank Sinatra and a few other singers of that genre acknowledged the great singing and performances of both Bobby Darin and Bobby Rydell. Frank thought they were both a credit to the singing profession because they had "style." And in that same "conversation," some in attendance had dismissed Elvis and Frank corrected them strongly by saying that would be a serious error to under-estimate Presley as a great ballad singer. It wasn't an interview, but more of a round table conversation with some other singers/entertainers. This song by Darin proves just how versatile and diversified Darin was. A great talent.

    J.... L....

    Well said, my friend~

    J.... L....

John LaStrada I so Agree!! This song is a coup de gras for Bobby's great talent and versatility. My gosh, who wouldn't totally admire him after hearing him sing this song?!!

  70. K.... M....

great entertainer! although he's been gone for over forty years, his voice, talent, & charisma is forever timeless. rock on Bobby!

    K.... M....

Ken Mand Oh yes!! "his voice ,talent & charisma is timeless", indeed!!!

  71. B.... V....

    So true

  72. T.... F....

As a pretty good saloon singer myself, I thank God for my parents who introduced me to the likes of all the greats! Sinatra, Martin, Bennett, Darin, Mills Bros., Ella Fitzgearld, Eydie Gorme, etc....thanks again mom and pop! I just wish all these young kids could be exposed to someone like Bobby Darin instead of the crappy sound alike pop singers of today!

    T.... F....

    Here they can hear.

    T.... F....

Tom Frawley now it’s just idiots screaming about sex and drugs through mumble trash. I can’t believe music has came to this in society today.

  73. D.... L....

    I agree Drew Turner !

  74. D.... T....

Genius ! He's giving Francis Albert a real run for his money with this tune !

    D.... T....

+Drew Turner Frank's vocal intonation and precision as well as Ray Charles soulfulness are what inspired Bobby. Not bad for a sickly guy who donned toupees at 22 and who never had a singing lesson to excel at virtually every style of music he got his hands on. He's my favorite all-around singer.

    D.... T....

Yes Drew he is giving Frank a run for his money here.In fact when Bobby released the album ,THATS ALL,he took swing to another level.

    D.... T....

    Paul Adams AGREE, ABSOLUTELY!!!

  75. D.... S....

There's a small segment of folks that don't care for Bobby. I think highly of Mr. Darin he's an amazing singer.

    D.... S....

    +David Salinas I like him

  76. D.... S....

He sounds almost like Tony Bennett. Both masters of song. Just my opinion.

    D.... S....

+David Salinas Not even......thnks though....this guy copied Mr. Sinister from NJ

  78. E.... ....

This is an absolutely top notch performance from start to finish, I am always disappointed when fans argue about who is the best on you tube. Sinatra and Darin were both one of a kind performers. I am just grateful we have all their recordings to continue to enrich our lives as we grow older....Wow I'm not even drunk yet.

    E.... ....

+EubieCool Eubie ,9 months down the line ,let's hope the booze has won ,as it's not getting any cheaper ,a hiccup and cheers to you sir

    E.... ....

Alcohol kills brain cells; music grows them.

  82. J.... M....

No one better, Love Bobby D.

  83. .... ....

    Love it....

  84. S.... O....

Bobby had a terrific swing !!

    S.... O....

"hategreed" (that moniker certainly says a lot!)  That is your, and maybe only your opinion!  There is no doubt  Bobby was very talented, but don't compare him with Sinatra, they were very different!  One was NOT superior to the other, each had their own very special talents!  And you certainly don't know if Darin was more "loveable" than Sinatra!

    S.... O....

M.J., Hating Greed is good. You're part of the problem if that fact escapes you.

    S.... O....

Yes, M.J. you're right. But the point of this whole discussion stems fm my comment, gee, 2 yrs ago now, that Sinatra blew off Bobby, in a dismissive gesture when asked about Darin's success and his similarity to Frank, the swinging fabulous style. That's all. Comparisons aren't fair. The point is that Sinatra clearly was jealous of Bobby as a singer and stage performer. And in that realm, Sinatra was coming to the end of that part of his career. I have the whole set of Concept Albums in a CD set and turn them way up when I'm driving (I'm 74 and love the 30's 40's early '50's era. Sinatra went on to a great acting carer after begging for and getting the role of Maggio in From Here To Eternity. I love him in The Manchurian Candidate. He was a really actor. I like The Detective with Lee Remick.

How is it possible -- this was done almost fifty years ago -- to feel the soul to feel all he invests in this piece --- the voice the way he phrases --- it's possible because he was and is BD one of the great ones --- this kind of talent will never die --BRAVO

We can get the same thrill from BD that we can get from Mozart. Because it's timeless EXCELLENCE.

You see I am a kid born in the late 90's and you see that I am listening to this. You would think a person my age wouldn't even listen to this but if I am, he must have been a great singer to attract people of all ages.

  93. P.... H....

Who knows what Bobby would have gone on to do if he lived longer and hadn't of died at 37 years of age. So so sad, I solute you Bobby you were such a great talent and will always be greatly missed.

  94. B.... I....

Yes, Marisol- under the heading of "big band jazz".

  95. L.... R....

Bobby Darin was & in some ways one of the greatest singers there ever was. He was a really true entertainer of the century . I really enjoy his music.

  96. B.... I....

Recorded on December 13, 1965, and featured on his April 1966 "The Shadow of Your Smile" album. Arranged and conducted by Richard Wess; this arrangement sounds similar to something he might have written for the first season of "I DREAM OF JEANNIE".

  97. k.... k....

es mui linda la mucica que iso enn sus tiempos

  98. U.... ....

Some singers seem to do so effortlessly - they just know. Bobby was one of those few.

  99. S.... ....

Bobby was a premium showmen as well a superb vocalist and for me, a wanna be singer, he was one of my two mentors...What a blessing YouTube is, to have this musical history at our fingertips!!!

Here on Father's Day Remembering my Dad & his fav music.
Bobby Darin is timeless in voice & style.
Wish my Dad was here to listen with me. Wish Bobbie was still here singing!!
