This is a Danzig original. Elvis had a song called 'Trouble' , from the movie King Creole, that Glenn covered on the Thrall ep. This song, however, does have some cadence allusion to Howling Wolf's song "Evil is Going On". Glenn was probably thinking about that song or listening to it when he wrote Heart of the Devil. Glenn is a big fan of Howling Wolf and Willie Dixon. Dixon actually heard this song in the studio, while it was being made, and liked it so much he wanted to collaborate a verse on it, but he died soon after making that plan and the collab never happened. It does say a lot that Dixon, who wrote many if not most of Muddy Waters' and Howling Wolf's songs, including "Evil.." liked it that much.
