I just got back from their 10 year anniversary a month ago I think? and man I have been dying to see them since 2007 when this band first got together and they were amazing and they had every single singer that has ever been in DGD on stage singing some really old songs and man it was great to hear some of their old tunes with their old and new singers such nostalgia :')

I can never keep myself away from this album. So much innovation, emotion, and ambiguity. My favorite of all DGD albums. The rest are great and have their own unique flavors, but this is where the strongest feelings really resonate.

I feel the same way. I think the reason is that the vocals aren't insanely pitch-corrected or processed like they were in the albums after this. It's so raw.

Mess was at his lyrical best on this album, imo. Too much cynicism in his new stuff for my tastes.

Jon Mess sounds more vicious here than it later works. The difference between here and, say, People You Know is pretty damn big. I feel like it shows his progression as an artist, though. The whole bands earlier stuff like this seems more...honest, I guess.

jonny was a little better in emarosa than dgd, and kurt was better in dgd then he is in a lot like birds.

hate to spam comment, but i think the lyric "beautiful brown eyes" is funny, in a sense, cause he has a lyric on the downtown battle mountain 2 in one of the first 3 songs i think, that is "how can i say no, especially with those beautiful blue eyes, (and then) beautiful fucking eyes.

i honestly love the happiness albumm, i really like kurts style lol, johnny's voice doesnt go as well with screaming as kurts, but johnny is still damn good

@allyouguysbelowme this is dgd in a sense i guess. i like this album the best for sure but really its all true dgd. and as for " true dgd fans" it doesnt really matter who gives a shit, almost all of the lyrics for these songs from"whatever i say.." are fucking improvised! so really rather you like Lemon merunge or fucking The importance of cocaine, it doesnt fucking matter.

i think its fun too go and look at all the comments on dgd songs. and see peoples opinions on the different albums. personally my favorite is happiness, and this is on is my least favorite. but their all amazing dont get me wrong.

I miss seeing them play. What I'd give for them to make more albums with the same spirit!
