I hope the next dgd album incorporates more of these older elements they used to do. Not that I don't love everything they've ever done, and I get that bands have to change their sound to survive. I get that. But the next thing I wanna hear from dgd is them bringing back more of the overlapping lyrics between Jon and... Well now tillian. And the heavier distortion and more non-traditional song structure.

Well plenty of their songs have overlapping lyrics. Several songs from Artificial Selection, Mothership, Instant Gratification do (eg. Something New, Inspire the Liars, Bloodsucker kinda). Especially Something New. Now that one is chaotic harmony.

I just feel like every subsequent album shows them heading in a direction further and further away from their original unique sound and I hope it doesn't go so far away that it's almost unrecognizable. Agreed. The newer albums definitely have a different feeling from the older ones. In my eyes, DGD will always be DGD. Especially if Will and Jon don't go anywhere.

I remember being at a restaurant parking lot with my friend. We were hooked up to their wifi listening to music on PureVolume. She told me about this cool band called Dance Gavin Dance and we looked up their page and listened to this song. I was blown away by the sound. This was before DGD first album came out. I remember following them on MySpace and couldn't wait for the album to come out. I pre-ordered it at my local music shop and was slightly disappointed it only had a few songs for $17 but after listening to it over and over, it was well worth it.

@Kevin Williams I don't think it's just Tillian. The current lineup is just really good and brings a lot super unique elements to the band, and now you can actually understand John's vocals too.

Love all 3. Johnny a lil overrated, but hes' the og and strongest soul outta all. I don't discredit him at all. Kurt majorly underrated IMO (death/ happiness great albums) He brought funk, but was so melodic in his voice, Tillian a great frontman, who will most likely take this band to the next level in recognition. Solid ass story and journey for a great band.
