Damned, The - Ballroom Blitz Lyrics
It's been getting so hard living with the things you do to me
My dreams are getting so strange I'd like to tell you everything I see
I see a man at the back as a matter of fact his eyes are as red as the sun
And a girl in the corner let no one ignore her 'cause she thinks she's the passionate one
Everybody was frightening
And the music was soothing
And they all started grooving
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
And the man at the back said: "Everyone attack" and it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said: "Boy I wanna warn you" and it turned into a ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz
It's been getting so strange living with the things you do to me
I softly call you over when you appear there's nothing left of you
I see a man at the back as a matter of fact as he raises his hands to the sky
And the girl in the corner is everyone's moaner she could kill you with a wink of her eye
Oh yeah, it was electric
So frightfully hectic
And the band started leaping
'Cause they all stopped breathing
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
And the man at the back said: "Everyone attack" and it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said: "Boy I wanna warn you" and it turned into a ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz
Oh yeah, it was like lightning
Everybody was frightening
And the band started leaping
'Cause they all stopped breathing
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
And the man at the back said: "Everyone attack" and it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said: "Boy I wanna warn you" and it turned into a ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz
It's, it's a ballroom blitz
It's, it's a ballroom blitz
It's, it's a ballroom blitz

Damned, The Ballroom Blitz Comments
Don't forget about Krokus version.
Whoooooo!!!
Should be The Damned ft. The Ace of Spades.
Rezillos version is better
It went from ballroom blitz to the ballroom bash
when life gives you Lemmy...
Heh. The intro is pretty much a copy of the intro to Holland - Wake up the neighborhood.
When I found out Lemmy was on this I lost my shit! 🤟🏾
This is just the type of bonehead that letting in to Frinton on sea nowadays and frankly I've had enough. Before you know it the place will be overrun with undesirables and maybe even those drunken scotch brutes from Newcastle.
RnR!!!!!
OMG...... worst SWEET cover ever !!!!
OMG ......worst COMMENT ever !!!!

Why no one should ever bother with Mick Tuckers' great drum parts.
V V V
best song to wake up to! saw them a couple of weeks back, they still know how to get a crowd going!

DavidPunk yup a cover of Sweet (band).
The best thing about this cover is that this video doesn't have anyone talking about suicide squad
And Lemmy is here too.
damnit man now this is the top comment
except you, dumbass
hahahaha... humans...
Well, until you did...
I grew up seeing this band... How spot on for teen aggro RnR can you get?
Got nothing but respect for Lemmy, he was the fifth member of the Damned, love you Ian
MGE is great fucking album, BTW.
I still have all my old Damned records from the 80s. Sounds great on my vintage sound system.
They are STILL the shit for sure!
Used to hearing this before the Sweet version. After this, Sweet's one sounds kinda slow.
Teenage Rampage by Sweet was punk before punk 🤘🤘👍👍😁
THE BEST VERSION!
Wow, punk fucking rock! Can't believe I never heard their cover before.
uh .. they wrote the song. or ..at least according to the record (just looked it up &
wanted to see whether this is that same song; yeah, it is.)
fuck me! wrong so wrong; here:

Dear Kelly, at the time there were only two other members of Motorhead. Of course the Damned and Motorhead shared a management and record company at the time.
+Stephen Allcroft All three members of Motörhead were present that day, but only Lemmy contributed to the two Motördamn/Doomed tracks! Providing the vocals on 'Over The Top' where he's accompanied by Captain Sensible on Guitar, Algy Ward on Bass & Rat Scabies on Drums, on 'Ballroom Blitz' he's accompanied by Dave Vanian on Vocals, Captain Sensible on Guitar & Rat Scabies on Drums. "Fast" Eddie Clarke and Phil Taylor spent the entire day getting drunk and trying to shag a girl over the upstairs pool table.
+Scharfschütze 131 Glad to hear a reminiscence from somebody who was there at the time _and_ able to remember it...
R.I.P Lemmy
Ballroom Blitz!!
I just know shit's about to get serious......
I recognize that bass sound anywhere, Lemmy!

Right, I came to this video knowing nothing about this particular cover version. I didn't even know lemmy played on it, I heard the bass come on, two bars in.... THAT'S LEMMY!!! I think I woke the house up....
@new70sLover no they didnt spoil it they PUNKed it up
With Lemmy !
the best version!
Better than the original? Yeah, the Damned are that awesome
totally wrecked the proper version by Sweet!
@noworldorderforme It's said to be part of the Motordamn project. The other song's called Over The Top. Both bands are said to have turned up one day and gotten really drunk, and at the end only half of them were left standing. I need to dig out my Light at the End of the Tunnel book.
@Kelly14UK Other Motorhead guys? I'm intrigued, I always thought only Lemmy played on this track. Having said that, there's a little guitar riff at about 2:23-ish that sounds a little 'interesting', Fast Eddie perhaps?
Blimey havent heard this since Retford Porterhouse 78 the best gig I ever went to, fell out of there at 3am ish and got a ride on the mail train home, great memories. Thanks for posting.
Lemmy on bass. And one or two other Motorhead guys too.
