You should write a song about Renegades by Marissa Meyer!

This and Monster became the theme songs for my D&D character. She was a rogue who lost her family at a young age and swore vengeance against the cultists that killed her father. This song worked scary well for her ending arch where she leaned hard into religious service to Mask, the lord of darkness. It also ended up having a double meaning for her, since she had a bit of a self imposed split personality, using the vengeful thief she grew into to protect the innocent child she was before a cult stole her family. When I hear this song, all I can think of is my character's jaded side trying to trust in the goodness still within herself in her last ditch effort to reach out to her father who was brought back to life and was being controlled by the cult's deity of madness.


Monster was really indicative of the final confrontation between my character and the deity of madness in charge of the cult that had caused her so much pain.


Truly have to give Beth Crowley so many thanks for articulating such strong emotions in such a universal way that so much of a character I spent 2 years playing can be expressed in just a few songs.

I'm not afraid for the dark, because if someone else does something to me, then either I have an actual reason to feel like this, or I won't have to do 'it' myself...

Have I already mentioned how beautiful this song is? And it doesn't just fit that book... I think it would fit most relationships. Trust after all, is very important in any relationship and sometimes you have to step into the dark to see the light at its most beautiful.-Since you're a book person by the looks of it, you probably wouldn't do something for a kids movie like Rise if the Guardians, would you? Specifically for Pitch but I mean I wouldn't mind if it wasn't specific to any character.-
